The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with the receptionist providing helpful information about the hotel's facilities and local attractions.The room itself was a haven of comfort and style.The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep, and the room's cleanliness was impeccable. The hotel's amenities were also top-notch. Location-wise, this hotel is conveniently situated, with easy access to popular attractions and transportation hubs. This made exploring the city a breeze. The bus stop to New York city is literally a 2 min walk away and the bus going to the New York City is an express service. Within 20 mins, you are pretty much in the heart of NYC. It was a big worry taken of my shoulder as if I had to drive instead, by the time i got through the traffic, I would definitely be tired. I loved the breakfast service. They had different varieties every day and I definitely ate to my heart's content. The staff were extremely pleasant. I requested for one hot chocolate packet for my daughter but the staff passed me a few and asked me to ask them whenever I wanted to. Definitely the best stay throughout my trip. Will choose this hotel once again when I visit USA again! Highly recommended

The location was good as was close to a bus stop. 20 mins to centre of NY was excellent, particularly with the traffic delays to all vehicles except the bus! Free Tea and Coffee in the Foyer was great! Choice of breakfast buffet was ok, except the toaster could have been a little faster.

Plastic knives and forks and paper plates. The use of single use cutlery is now banned in the UK as it causes to much land fill pollution. Plus they are rubbish to use (Knives bend when spreading butter). Why does the Holiday Inn not use proper plates and metal cutlery. Must be cheaper in the long term and kinder to the environment?

Staff was very nice.

Breakfast was a little basic. If you can have more fruit, cereal and yogurt options it would be nice. The hot breakfast would always run out too. Seems like you did not have enough which is why I would take less food than usual.

The staff were welcoming, the hotel was clean and the room was nice. Good space for a family of 3. We came to check out the American Dream mall, and it was less than 10 minutes away which was very convenient. Walking distance to a really cool Mexican restaurant as well as an Italian restaurant. They also offer a bus schedule for transport that apparently picks up near the hotel and takes you into the city (I overheard that part, so ask about it lol) . Overall, we were satisfied!

The one pancake machine kind of held up the breakfast line in the morning BUT everything was clean and well set up. The staff made sure the other food options were well stocked while waiting, so that was nice and appreciated

My stay at Holiday Inn was a very pleasant experience for my first time in America as the staff especially the Hotel Manager were very helpful and were constantly quick to help us with whatever we needed regardless of the time. The hotel was clean and the breakfast area had a lot of options. We felt safe and secure and would recommend this place for families. I will definitely visit this hotel again when I come back for another holiday in America. Just a caution though the location is in New Jersey city which is a bit far from New York City. However, there is a bus transportation right by the hotel which goes straight to Times Square.

We came from the UK and didn't expect the water system inside the toilets to be different in America. However, they are so just be careful about that.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. The pool, room, and lobby area was clean.

The floors are extremely thin. The guest above us was up until 1 a.m., and we didn't get any good sleep . Jumping and running around slamming stuff. It honestly sounded like they were coming through the floor. Having kids when we stayed, the lady below us complained and said my kids were loud and woke her up at 7am, but they were not jumping around. So I suggested if you're going for a relaxing trip, do not stay there.

We were very happy with our stay. Originally we had booked 2 nights, but we were so happy and comfortable there that we extended our stay by another 2 nights and canceled our other hotel (which was closer to our planned outtings, but staying here was worth the extra drive). We were very impressed with the free breakfast and the 24/7 coffee and tea. Staff was wonderful and warm, hotel was very clean and comfortable.

Extending breakfast to 10am would be nice and may cut down on the crowding

Good hot breakfast and the lady working in this area was really lovely. Enjoyed the eggs and pancakes. Clean big rooms. The beds were comfortable though they should get better pillows, as they were not. Enjoyed having a bath in the room. The bus was easy to use to get into NYC (Times Square), just gave the driver $9 cash per adult for a return ticket (keep in mind they won't accept notes bigger than $20). Would recommend busing into NYC and then using the subways as it's not going to save you any time or money driving in. However, if you have a car there are lots of fast food places a couple of minutes drive away from the hotel for an easy evening dinner.

Giving 8/10 stars due to: Communications with the hotel prior to our stay - asked a couple of questions with no response. We originally got assigned the wrong room and then got left a note saying we might have to change again which was stressful and not what you want on a six-night trip, had already unpacked. Our key cards stopped working multiple times during our stay. Minor things but just added unnecessary stress both before and during the trip. Also, heads up the pool is quite small, if you don't have it to yourself (which didn't happen during our stay) it's quite unpleasant.

Excellent hotel and location. You can go to city centre of New York by bus in about 20 minutes. The staffs are excellent especially Basant, Sara, Michel and Mohamed. Very clean and excellent value for money.

We think they should give more support for the breakfast.

It’s a good option for New York, without breaking the bank, given of course that you are ok with the “commute". We used the buses leaving from Port Authority which stop about 200 m from the hotel. There are other options on that street too, so definitely recommend as an alternative to expensive Manhattan. Breakfast is also good for US, you get omelettes, bacon, sausages, yogurt, fruits and oatmeal, not just the sweet options.

It’s probably still a bit expensive for the location.
