This place really fit our needs. In a quiet, middle range place in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Our main needs were comfort, wifi, breakfast, proximity. We got all of that. Staff were really nice and they felt homey. Especially Erica at the front. The night time staff were a bit young and not as experienced but they were still very nice. Breakfast was a full breakfast with all the fixings and more, different special dishes everyday along with cereal, oatmeal, eggs, sausages, potatoes, juice, toast, bagels, etc. Wifi was great (we are intl guests). The room was smallish, but it's a refurbished building and it's truly done well. Clean, smells good, paint and trimmings are good. Beds very comfy, housekeeping is good. The walls are thin though mind you we only noticed a couple times with a baby or someone talking as they leave their room. Subway is a 10-15 minute walk, no hills. There's food and places to see nearby. Quiet area, safe. Check in and check out was good, they responded to my messages thru booking.com. Bathroom was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay, thank you.

I would suggest to them considering how many intl guests are there, that they have an option for making local calls at least. The room phones didn't have that option, but the staff offered me to use their phone in the lobby. The walls are thin though mind you we only noticed a couple times with a baby or someone talking as they leave their room. The elevator was very slow but we were on 2nd floor and it only got busy during breakfast time so where we took the stairs.

Love the location. Bed is comfortable. Shower is good pressure. Breakfast was added. Good effort but could use more options. Check in and out very easy

Keep improving breakfast - offer whole grain bread, maybe oatmeal and yogurt. Air temperature in room was very humid. Check A/C.

I have stayed in a lot of hotels. This one had the best hotel bed I have stayed at in a long time. Simply amazing. Room was very clean. There are previous comments that there is not coffeemaker in the room, that has changed. There is now a coffeemaker and two complimentary bottles of water. The staff was very friendly which was appreciated. I needed to stay in Red Hook to take care of personal business. The location and price was perfect for me. There is a good lobster restaurant a few blocks away and an amazing deli that makes excellent sandwiches (only open for lunch) one block away. I was happy to find this hotel for when I need to stay in Brooklyn. Modest, nice, clean hotel at a good price.

If you have to walk to the subway and don't know your way around, the neighborhood feels very industrial. I am familiar with the area and it was fine for me. Just a heads up to tourists. However, you are literally next to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, super fast to get to Manhattan by Uber or Lyft, which is good. Also walkable to other neighborhoods in that area of Brooklyn. No safes in the room nor safety deposit boxes available, no luggage carts at the hotel.

Bed, shower & breakfast were good

1) Although breakfast hours were listed as 6:30-9:30, I was told when I checked in that I should be there by 7 AM because they run out of food and don’t replenish. It was ridiculous to have to get up so early just to make sure the food I wanted would be available. Food items should be replenished until at least 9 am! 2) I requested a room with grab bars in the shower, & got a roll in shower. Although I didn’t need a roll in shower, a person who did would’ve been out of luck because the shower head was extremely high. I am 5‘6“ and had a hard time reaching the handheld showerhead. Also, again, although this was not an issue for me, it made no sense that a supposedly handicap accessible bathroom had a standard size doorway.

Red Hook is a hidden gem if you don't mind taking the ferry which we loved and it's still a bit gritty in some parts and about a 15-20 min walk to the metro. But we loved it! The hotel itself was clean, spacious for nyc, good value for money and it was close to friends in Brooklyn for us. Especially staff member was Inna was very kind and helpful. We enjoyed going to governors island by a short ferry ride. We rented bikes there and had amazing views of the city and statue of liberty. Great frozen margarita and tacos . Also easy to take ferry to Dumbo and system island. The ferries were as expensive as the metro and so nice to be on the water

We live in Europe and maybe our taste buds have changed but the quality of the breakfast was not what we had hoped but you could skip that and eat nearby. Also not many gluten free options which some of our group needed due to an allergy

The room was spacious when compared to other NYC area hotels I've stayed at. Everything was very clean, and there were already extra towels without having to ask. This was one of the better "free breakfast" offerings I've seen, there was excellent variety and no powdered eggs. The parking area was perfect for accessability and ease of entry and exit.

The breakfast area was smaller than I would have liked. There was only one elevator, which was a bit slow. My assumption is that this was a building converted from another purpose and that could be the reason for the elevator situation.

The hotel is pretty easy reachable by car and metro. Around ten to 15 minutes away is a metro station. The hotel is nice, the breakfast buffet is a little spartanic, but that's not a big minus. Next to the hotel is a fire station, so don't wonder, if you hear sirens. A staff was nice and helpfull. All in all, I can't say anything negative about the hotel.

The hotel room was very spacious, and the Queen sized bed was an absolute dream. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, you couldn't wish for more. Porridge, cereals, fruit, eggs, sausages, muesli, sliced cheeses, hams, salads, tomatoes, everything was fresh. The staff serving the hot selections were so lovely. Breakfast was served between 6:30 - 09:30 every day. The location was excellent, only a stones throw away from local bars, restaurants, and shops. Make sure you turn left when leaving the hotel and head down the street, which leads you to a charming area. The Brooklyn Crab is a great place to dine. Also, the hotel isn't far from the ferry terminals, which take you over to Manhatten. I would strongly recommend this hotel. A big shout out to the reception staff. Don't listen to the moaners, Redhook is a lovely part of Brooklyn, and the people are so helpful and friendly. Take a walk up to Smith Street. This leads you straight into the heart of Brooklyn and an abundance of shops, cafe bars, and local markets heading into DUMBO. You will save $100's just by choosing to stay here. We will definitely be returning. Xxx

If you don't like walking, then it's heading towards Carroll Street for the tube. It's a little tricky if you don't understand the network.

The floor staff were EXCELLENT! The women went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. My almost 3 years old granddaughter caught her fingers in the door and one of your staff immediately got us ice to help with the pain. When we were at breakfast Friday morning there was a woman in the Cafe who said, do you need a bag and gave me a nice new shopping bag so that I could easily carry my granddaughters snacks for the road. She was easily the nicest person in the room and I truly appreciate her for such a thoughtful gesture.

The front desk staff were not bad but a smile now and then or a cheery greeting would have made my stay perfect. Also, somewhere in the hotel to purchase snacks and use a microwave oven would have made a world of difference.

daily room service. room and public areas were exceptionally clean for new york city lodgings. quiet room with sound proof windows from city noise. mta subway F & G station was about 10-15 minute walk away through reasonable commercial to high valued home neighborhood. breakfast buffet was extraordinary in staff service and food selection. online checkin and phone key were third party wonky so the desk staff were super helpful with the traditional checkin and key card. a restaurant open late hours is on the corner. a well regarded sandwich shop a block away. down by the water front is a park with great harbor and statue of liberty views. a gourmet supermarket, coffee cafe, beer brewery, and wine tasting room are a short walk away. highly recommend.
