The layout of the hotel was lovely, super tropical and relaxing. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and made it very easy to ask questions. It was about a 15 minute walk to a strip of shops/cafes/restaurants, but other than that there was only 1 small cafe closer to the hotel which we could get our morning coffee from. If you're happy to walk in the heat for some beaches and food then this hotel is great! Didi cars were easy to order and very quick to pick up. Our room had a very good air-con unit which was much needed in the heat of Puerto Escondido. Definitely make sure to get a room with A/C.

The beds could have been a little bit more comfortable, they were a bit hard.

The pool was nice and the small gym was very useful. The upper floor rooms with verandas were great spots for relaxing on the chairs provided. The beds were comfortable and both rooms we stayed in had decent showers. The hotel kept power running for most of the time we were there via their own generator when Hurricane Erick knocked out mains power, which was super helpful. Staff were helpful and reassuring throughout the storm and its aftermath.

I'm glad the generator was there. OTOH it was very loud and was harder to sleep through than the hurricane itself. We weren't able to charge meals/drinks to the room - not sure if this was due to the hurricane or is normal but it meant taking money down to the pool which wasn't ideal for personal items security.

The property & the staff were incredible I would highly recommend anyone to stay here if visiting Puerto Escondido, Perfectly located to the main beaches and within distance to get a taxi to anywhere! (Which the reception staff will call for you!) The pool area is amazing very relaxing and lots of space to be able to enjoy yourself and take a break from all the activities you may have planned. I would also recommend everyone to try the breakfast at least once for the price and the selection is amazing for a mix of Mexican & some American breakfast foods like pancakes & French toast. we also wanted to give a big shoutout to Carlos and the house keeping team for being amazing throughout our stay.

Not really anything about the property just be aware when booking that sometimes people can be noisy slamming doors and enjoying a later night so if your a light sleeper maybe some earplugs would be beneficial.

I had a delightful stay at Hotel Suites Villasol! The hotel boasts a lovely swimming pool, but most people prefer the beach club close to the hotel. Breakfast at Hotel Villa Sol is satisfactory, with a decent selection of options available until a generous 12 noon. While not extravagant, it provided me with a sufficient start to the day. One of the standout features of Hotel Suites Villasol is its exceptional dining experience. The food at the restaurant is truly exceptional. The quality of the cuisine undoubtedly adds to the overall appeal of the hotel. The complimentary shuttle service to the beach club, provided every 30 minutes, is a convenient amenity for guests, The beach club itself offers a fantastic experience, with excellent and affordable dining options. Nevertheless, the staff at the beach club, particularly our waitress Elizabeth, were exceptionally friendly, adding a personal touch to the guest experience. Regarding accommodations, while the rooms may not be anything extraordinary, they serve their purpose well as a comfortable space for rest. Given that I primarily used the room for sleeping, the modest accommodations are perfectly adequate. Conveniently located just 5 minutes from the airport.

The sometimes long waiting time for food at the beach club restaurant. Except from that, nothing at all.

The hotel had a pleasant staff except for the first day, good accommodations, though a bit dated and working hot shower and swimming pool. The breakfast was great. The beach club was nice too. Though it is off-premise and you have to take a shuttle to it. The bar was super basic.

They did not have the room type I booked and have me a downgraded room for one out of the three nights. They comped my dinner - but that restaurant is not something to write home about. The irritating part was after some hush-hush discussion amongst themselves they sent us on our way to a wrong type as though everything was normal! Only after I went to the room, and came back and pointed out it was not what I had booked did they thought of owning up and offering a comp and move us the next day. Not the customer service you would expect. They clearly knew they messed up - why wait till I come back to ask?

Very beautiful property. We had a car, so it was a good location. Not a ton of restaurants near hotel to walk to, but this didn’t affect us. Property was top notch, deck was excellent, room nice. Food good at restaurant on location. Nicholas the bartender made a FABULOUS Margarita. He was personable and very kind. We will definitely stay here again. If no car- may want to stay a bit closer to the beach you prefer or Centro.

the beach club saved the stay for me. the staff here was competent, attentive and informed ( not the same experience at the reception) 5 min from the airport.

restaurant was closed for dinner. room service was available but one night all the phones were down, no elevators so you had to go down and order. lights in corridors/ hallway didn't come on till is been dark for maybe 2 hours. staff a bit confused about shuttle times. couldn't check me in for 2 consecutive days at once, because I had 2 reservations. wifi was down and allegedly they had to wait for the manager to get in to provide it.( is a phone call in my opinion)

The front desk staff is attentive, friendly and helpful (particularly Manuel). He really went above and beyond in making our stay as comfortable as possible. Location is great. You can walk or take a quick cab ride to and from most hot spots. After a long day of exploring, this is the perfect place to come to and rest. The beach club is a nice touch for days where you just wish to lounge. The overall cleanliness really seals the deal.

I did not appreciate the “check in” process for breakfast. Although there were some very nice servers, we felt rushed most days. I also had a staff member accuse me of having had breakfast twice in one day. The approach was all but professional.

Villasol was an interesting stay. The hotel and beach club are A++. We had excellent food at the restaurants and bars. We also really appreciated the ample breakfast and friendly staff.

While the hotel itself and beach club blew us away, the hotel room on the other hand was rough. It was not updated (imagine popcorn ceilings) and instead of having two queen beds, it had two double beds. The room was small and dark. That said, the bathroom was a good size and the room had an enormous balcony that we greatly enjoyed.
