Breakfast was excellent with a wonderful choice of fresh food. Pool was lovely with no problems finding a sun bed. Pool itself is wonderful and not too full of chlorine. Depth of water and temperature both good. Room very comfortable and spacious. Staff are the 'jewel in the crown' as they all look so smart (including the housekeeping staff) are extremely helpful and courteous. Special mention for the Concierge Jose and the helpful pool staff.

Bar staff were sometimes a little too anxious to close the bar at 1pm. Personally, I feel that if paying guests want to continue to drink/talk, then the bar should stay open. A couple of times our cups and saucers (in the room) weren't replenished. Suggest that an ice-making machine would be good on each floor. We had to request ice on a couple of occasions. Bottle of water on arrival, but never again. Would be nice to replenish daily.

A fantastic traditional and classic 5-star hotel with experienced staff. The hotel is just beautiful, but it is the staff that makes it also a comfortable hotel. Staff that immediately spots you and understand what you need. If you like the combination of golf, spa, swimming pool and nice food this is a great place to go. If you need a beach its just a short walk and Cascais, Sintra and Lisbon are around the corner. If you don't want to golf every day at the golf course of the hotel, there are plenty of other courses within reach.

No negative experiences, although very happy that we had are own rental car, so we didn't have to use the hotel transfer service to the golf course, which was every half hour.

This hotel has a very good location for our needs. Certainly the best breakfast in Cascais. A classic hotel with great staff and great cleanliness.

Unfortunately a little uncomfortable beds that take some getting used to. Spa was not open.

Absolutely stunning hotel from the moment you pull up outside to walking into your room and the grounds outside. The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and everything is replenished on a regular basis, the restaurant staff look after you very well. The beds around the pool are very comfy and the rooms are just perfect, beautiful clean bedding, shower gels and shampoo etc replenished every day.

The service in the bar and around the pool was absolutely appalling. If it was the off meal or drink that we had a problem with then fair enough but it was every time you made an order it was ages before you got it. The food was sometimes an hour and that was f they hadn't forgotten what you ordered in the first place! They must be losing a fortune around the pool and in the bar as they are just far too slow.

Everything about the property was fantastic. We loved the breakfast, the comfort of the room and the outdoor pool area. The barman also makes a fantastic caprioska (unfortunately I didn’t get his name). There was also a very helpful young man called Junior who worked at the Banyan tree spa. We appreciated him going above and beyond, working after his shift to help us find a sentimental item. It was most appreciated.

Our room was made up on the first evening, however wasn’t made up on other evenings. We aren’t sure why our room wasn’t made up properly every evening. Also, we thought that the spa was slightly outdated.

This was a beautiful hotel, with a style and level of professionalism that is rarely seen nowadays. Despite an issue we encountered during the night, the way we were treated and the thoughtful gestures they provided afterward truly highlighted the hotel’s high standards. A special mention goes to the duty manager, who has worked there for over 60 years—a person of great class and elegance. Staying here felt like a return to the past, to a time when hotels upheld a level of professionalism and service that is hard to find today. While the interior may seem a bit old-fashioned, it is meticulously maintained and of the highest quality. A truly exceptional experience!

The hotel was lovely in an 'old school', grand hotel sort of way, but I feel that some updating and modernisation is required. The pool area, for example, is glorious, the breakfast was also fantastic with so much choice, it felt really special. However, the hotel overall feels like it needs a bit of an update if it's going to compete with other hotels in the same price range/star rating etc. but which offer a more modern/contemporary feel. It's a stunning set up, but grand/classic doesn't need to feel old fashioned or dated - small changes would make a big difference.

An elegant and classy hotel with a rich history. Rooms were well serviced, clean and comfortable. Staff were delightful throughout which really enhanced our stay. Any requests were attended to immediately. Pool was fabulous and the poolside area was relaxed. Everything in the hotel was easy. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

Perhaps another entertainment type evening as not so much to do in area at night. I didn't like the plastic cups used at the poolside.

Loved that there was an underground connection between the spa/pool and the hotel. We went specifically for the spa and were really impressed with the quality of the pool, sauna, steam room, and hamam. The treatments were wonderful, and the staff was very helpful at all times. The bedrooms were beautiful with nice open windows and fresh air, and a massive bathroom with nice smelling products.

The beds were not the same in terms of firmness, so we didn't have the same level of comfort, unfortunately.

We booked a room for 3 after opening all our bags we needed to move because the room was too small for 3 people. They solved it pretty quickly but was not a good start. Also they told us that there is no age limit for the spa but in the spa they said 12 years is the limit. So not impressed with those…
