An old fashioned hotel somehow charming, the bar from the hotel entrance gave me the feeling of travelling in time. Just a short walk to the centre of Beaune. Books in the bar on our way to the room, old-time decoration in the bar that is connected with the hotel. Public parking: 3 minutes walking Parking des Buttes. Not so big expectations for one star hotel, it was ok for one night.

Old-fashioned, no parking, it needs a big renovation, not so clean. We were afraid to open the window as it seemed very fragile and old. At the time of booking we specified that we needed help with the parking but the receptionst/ barman said just that we could park on the street.

For this price in Beaune, you can either stay in a cramped white box behind a caged gate, on a retail estate 25 minutes walk from centre ville, with entry via a door code and no-one in sight. Or you can stay here, just ten minutes away, through a park where owls call to each other as you walk, where you are welcomed at the bar next to the characterful regulars and where the bed is comfortable, the shower warm, the bar decor quirky with lots of books, and the breakfast just right. I know which I prefer.

Paper thin walls. Could hear everything next door during the night.

Made me feel like I was a local just visiting. So laid back, all basic needs met… safety, quiet, excellent price, comfort (missed my AC! Ha) private bath, super friendly staff (be sure to download translation app if you don’t speak French!) lovely light breakfast for €9 (2024).

A little dated but obviously it’s how a French hotel/ bar should be I like old fashioned style staff really helpful clean comfy beds gorgeous location would definitely stay again

In a world of ever homogenous hotels, Hotel Le Foch was a breath of fresh air. From the welcoming, accommodating owner, Jean Luc, to the fat, orange cat in the inner courtyard who took a liking to my son, from the array of locals frequenting the bar until the wee hours, to the charming decor, Hotel Le Foch felt like home from the moment we arrived. Rooms are simple, but clean and functional. We even returned for another couple nights on our return journey. We had a front room facing the park and outer walls of Beune on this second stay, and it was infinitely more charming still. Good old fashioned hospitality, comfortable beds, only a couple minutes walk into town, and charm galore. It was our favorite stay in France, far surpassing hotels that were far more posh!

Excellent location. Stayed with two whippets so having a grass park opposite was perfect. Great chardonnay and friendly staff. Like a trip back in time to classic France.

Very atmospheric and genuine hotel with quirky decor. Family room was comfortable and the kids liked the large orange cat! Great location, free parking opposite & 10 minute stroll into centre of town. Friendly service. We arrived just before checking time at 15:00 so I called the owner and he opened up straight away.

It’s on the road so could be noisy. The windows are double glazed though. It wasn’t an issue for us.

Excellent small hotel in Beaune, great location, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and spacious room (number11). The host was very welcoming, sorted out parking for us and was very efficient in sorting check-in and check-out. We stopped overnight while making our way down to the South of France and it was perfect for that and we enjoyed a lovely fresh breakfast, with excellent service, before hitting the road. What we saw of Beaune was beautiful, certainly worth revisiting and a longer stay to properly explore.

Such an interesting, vintage style property. The bar is beautiful! Basic but comfortable rooms on the edge of a truly gorgeous Burgundian town (an easy ten minute walk). Breakfast was fantastic and great value. Parking was plentiful. All in all a fabulous way to break up a long car journey.

Very friendly staff, the breakfast was particularly tasty! The town had a lovely vibe and we would definitely return.
