As a small middle-aged lady, I am always conscious of my personal security. Having been a little concerned at Hotel Life's location so close to Gare Saint Jean, the tram stop outside the door let me feel safe travelling alone at night. And it was extremely convenient for travelling into the centre with all its attractions, the river for boat tours and glorious walks, and connecting with the other tramlines.

My room looked very small when I walking in on the first day. However, it was perfectly functional and had plenty of space for me on my own. The bed was big and comfortable. I lounged there while using my laptop, with chargers conveniently built into the headboard. The shower cubicle in the corner was sufficiently spacious for me, no elbow bumping. Initially a slight smell came from the drain but that disappeared after I poured some of my lemon drink down. The separate toilet cubicle was well enclosed so no sounds or smells emerged. Close to the bed an easy-opening window meant I could enjoy fresh air day and night.

Fantastic 3 night stay in a family room at this hotel. Extremely convenient with the tram stop just outside, and the train station not far. Our room was at the front of the hotel and you could hear the tram bells in the evening but it did not disturb sleep at all. Excellent breakfast options which kept us and our two children (age 5 and 2) well fed and happy, in a relaxed informal setting. Everything was clean and comfortable. Great parking option below the hotel which we made use of. Great friendly interactions with all the staff. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to someone staying in Bordeaux. Bordeaux must dos with children: Jardin public (with children’s play area if you have little ones), Bassins de lumiere (tram and bus - incredible experience), a splash in the mirror l’eau, dining in St Pierre’s square, tram and bus to Chateaux Saint Ahons for a family friendly visit.

Stayed here for two nights on 22nd May. What a great hotel! Immaculately clean room and a great location - exclusive and quiet but not too far from the city centre - and the best part being a short walk to Marché des Capucins (market) for breakfast! But the real gem of this hotel is a certain staff name Yanis. Yanis personifies the superb service standard and personality of this hotel. Such a joy to converse with, Yanis knows everything about Bordeaux and his recommendations are spot on. If you need anything, just ask Yanis (he is better than Alexa/Siri) And get Yanis to pour you a tall cold house brew - very good and you will enjoy your conversation with Yanis. Cheers Yanis!

Great location, breakfast was OK for omnivores but not good for vegans except for almond milk and bread and fruit. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. Nice to have beer on tap in the reception. Area was a 15 minute walk from great bars and restaurants. The tram stopped right outside the hotel. The area was quiet at night and only a 10 minute walk from St Jean train station.

The rooms were small but OK for a single traveller. Some of the design was a bit annoying, like very low hanging lampshades over the breakfast tables. More seats needed in the breakfast room. Why was there sugar in the porridge oats????. A dairy free spread would have been nice so I didn't have to bring my own. Sometimes the water in the shower stopped working? The extractor in the toilet didn't really work.

We liked almost everything about the hotel. The location is walkable to the old city, there is also a tram stop right in front of it, which is very convenient. The staff is amazing, super attentive and supportive. They have a positive attitude towards any request. The room was cosy and clean. We loved the common space too, which is well decorated and comfy. There is a co-working space as well and they let us stay there before our bus left at midnight. If you arrive too early before the check in, there is a shower you can use. Overall, we loved that the hotel staff was so welcoming and friendly and they create such a comfortable environment for guests. I will definitely stay there again when I visit Bordeaux next time.

Very clean, everything in perfect working order, generous breakfast and friendly staff. Easy walking distance from the station. Great value for money. It was a relief to stay there after staying in the hotel from hell the previous night.

Not really a criticism of the location because I purposely booked something within walking distance of the station, but if you've y looking for something close to the action in Bordeaux, this isn't really it. That said, it's not that far to walk (unencumbered by luggage) and it's on the tramline for those who'd like a transport option. A mentioned earlier, all facilities were in good working order, but one very minor criticism is that the layout was odd -- it was cleverly compact, but strange. Not really a problem.

The hotel is beautiful, is about 10 min walking from the Train Station and just crossing the street to the tram that takes you to City downtown in just 2-3 stops. The bedrooms were so spacious, we got 2 single bedrooms and 1 double bedroom and all of them were very good! The staff were so friendly and the breakfast sooo goood, after two weeks of traveling, having a good breakfast (not only coffee and pastries) is food for your soul. I definitely recommend it! Side note: We request a Taxi to the Airport (a huge one as we had a lot of luggage and we were 4), the price charged was 100 euros; the driver told us that the Taxi company blah blah and that was the price, we´ll never know, just a side note for you to consider if you want to order a taxi to airport at the end of your stay.

I loved everything about this hotel. The location was perfect, just a few tram stops from the centre of Bordeaux, with the tram stop just outside the door. The staff were so helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The decor of the hotel is very modern with loads of space to relax and chill out just off reception. The bedroom, whilst small, had everything I needed. Good selection to choose from for breakfast. Would definitely use this hotel again if back in Bordeaux.

They're was nothing I disliked, although I could see that having the shower in the bedroom might be an issue if sharing, also the room might be a little too cosy for 2 people.

I really enjoyed this hotel! Location is near to the station which is super convenient and just 15 min away from the center. The room was a little bit small but suitable for one person. The bed was comfortable and the the hotel in general is modern, clean and aesthetic. The staff was super kind.

The only detail was the smell of the shower… the strainer smelled bad from times to times( not all the time) and as the shower is in the room it was a bit unpleasant.

Very good location, easy to reach the train station. The tram runs just below the windows, making it very convenient to get to the city center and anywhere else in the city. The room is clean and well-balanced, though a bit small for a family with one child, but overall, it's very well thought out

The room is too small for a family with a small child. The breakfast is a bit strange – not a single green leaf in the entire kitchen. I mean, it's the easiest way to improve digestion, but they even have comb honey and still don't offer a salad. Facepalm...
