Hotel La Zoologie is a beautiful building, tastefully decorated with respect to the original building and its purpose as a zoological department and with subtle modern twists. Our stay was relaxing, the staff were friendly, the hotel was spotless, the terrace was relaxing, the room was very comfortable and peaceful and the location was perfect for the old town and a short (20 minute) walk into Centre Ville.

Everything was great. This is not a criticism but a suggestion…I enjoyed using the fitness centre , it would be nice to have some heavier free weights above 4kg- maybe a selection up to 10kg would be good. This is just personal preference and in no way detracts from my stay.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff were absolutely fab—so friendly and helpful from start to finish. The location couldn’t be better with a bus stop right outside the door for easy access to the city centre, and it’s just a short walk from the train station too. The hotel itself has such a lively ambience and is beautifully decorated throughout. My room was a decent size, very comfortable, and well-kept. After a hot day exploring, the rooftop bar was the perfect place to unwind—so chilled and relaxing with great views. Highly recommend!

My only tiny complaint would be that the pillows were a bit too soft, but everything else was just perfect. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area

We loved EVERYTHING about this hotel, including the aromatic scent in the stairwell. This place had so many special touches, including a mural in our hotel room, a HUGE shower, a cozy patio overlooking the court yard, and not to mention the spa! The hotel staff were wonderful, assisting us with transport to their location as we arrived to a taxi strike, and sitting down with us to talk about the area and providing recommendations on places to see. The bar staff were absolutely fabulous, and were happy to describe the scrumptious concoctions they were making. The restaurant staff were equally great as well as the food. The staff truly made us feel welcome and we were sad to leave. Oh bonus, the train station is just a short walk from the hotel.

The hotel is located an easy walk from the train station, with transport links in to the city right outside. Reception staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful with directions, providing us with a map of the city and advice. Our room was spacious and quirky - certainly not a bland hotel room - it felt as if we were up in the trees. Had a great kettle! The atrium of the hotel is a leafy oasis which looked attractive.

Breakfast not ready ( only cold buffet ) no hot food prepared at 7.15 when we needed an early start so decided not to bother.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There is no parking available so I had reserved a space nearby, but that didn't work. Staff helped us find the parking lot right in front of the hotel which was fantastic. The room was spectacular and the bed was very comfortable.

We ate in the restaurant outside on the first night - it was a beautiful setting. We have the impression that the serving staff was not very well trained, though they did their best. Also the seating was stylish but very uncomfortable.

Beautiful building. Bed was very comfy. Friendly reception staff. Good self service breakfast. Room with bath was lovely and bright. Location was good for transport services and walking into the centre.

Surrounding area was grim. We booked a room with a balcony, but were given one with a bath. Reception apologised as we weren't sent an email asking for our preference. Fortunately a room with a balcony was available and we were able to move when we came back later that afternoon. Room with balcony was very dark.

The hotel was a fantastic property with very nice rooms and amenities. The room was spacious and had a deep soaking tub. My wife and I enjoyed using the jet tub and sauna during our stay. It was very nice to get a soak and sauna at the end of the day. The immediate surrounding area may not be the nicest, but it is a quick 20-minute walk to many places in town. The Marché des Capucins is very close and delicious.

The wifi available for the guests was frustrating to use, very slow, and it would continuously disconnect from my phone and computer. While it is good to not be on the computer while on holiday, it would be nice to have quick internet to get anything on the computer done quickly and not be kicked off the network repeatedly.

Very nice building and rooms. Liked the garden and the working people there are very friendly & helpfull. City is nearby and easy to walk to.

Downside the open bath and shower. You have to close the curtains a lot if you want some privacy during the day. The TV could be slight bigger or some Netflix on it. Most programmes are French. There is no fridge inside the room and would be handy to have during warm summers.

This hotel is incredible, unique. The theme of zoology runs through the building in ways that are both quirky and charming. The central garden is lush, a great place for the cafe. The restaurant curtains are animal-themed, and there is an air of safari mixed with museum pieces in the halls, rooms and public areas. What an original space and concept! The staff are very kind and helpful. I would return to this hotel on my next trip to Bordeaux!

This is a great place to stay.

This property is located a short 5 minute walk to the tram so getting around the city was easy despite being outside of the main tourist area. The room was comfy and the Hotel was stylish and always clean. The staff were super friendly and personable and always helpful, willing to go out of their way to help us out. Breakfast was good and the Bar area was super comfortable and inviting. Thanks for a great stay.
