Very clean and comfortable hotel, in old building with lots of atmosphere. Locality in old centre and easy walking distance to all sites.

They had a very small aquarium with a large and small turtle. The aquarium was too small. The large turtle would climb onto a stone and knock on the wall of the aquarium and try to climb the wall to get out. The aquarium was next to the dining area. I found this so distressing that we only had 2 breakfasts and did not go down for our last 3 days.

The staff was friendly, we got the room before the planned hour which was convenient, the room was clean. The location is perfect, it's intra muros to Saint Malo The room was fine overall, the bed was alright too, multiple pillows available.

Only sweets for breakfast, the only fruit options was a fruit salad The bathroom was practical but rather small so it wasn't always easy to move in it, might be a pain if you're older or on the chubbier side

Lovely ambience and cosy with friendly staff, room small but well set out and bed very comfortable. Good shower and decor. Perfect location close to restaurants and shops, but peaceful.

Plenty of options for breakfast, but would be nice to have a protein source other than cheese, (e.g. egg) but appreciate this is France and continental breakfast is mainly carbs and sugar. Small point, but the loo seat was very unstable (room 11) ! Hate to say this but the terrapins in that small tank made us rather sad..

Location inside medieval walls, access to ramparts were great. St Malo catered well to tourists. Restaurants and shops abound. Proprietor spoke English and communicated well.

Breakfast option had high sugar and carbs. If one likes full fat full sugar yogurt and cookies for breakfast.. Fresh fruit bowl had less than 1/4 cup to feed 8+ people. Cold cuts had 2 deli slices of ham left on plate. Again to feed 8 people in the room. Room was clean and adequate with private bathroom. It was small and awkward attic space.

Staff very friendly. Breakfast superb, especially breads and granola.

We had a Comfort attic room which I loved. However big tall people would be better going for a Superior room with more ceiling height. All the houses in St Malo are thin and tall so people shouldn't expect too much space. The hotel was very cosy with a homely, welcoming feel, lovely decor, very comfortable, soft pillows, and would definitely stay there again.

Location was absolutely fantastic! No corner of the inner city was more than a 10 minute walk. It was just off of one of the main streets. The room was very clean and a good size just for myself.

The view from the windows was to a small outdoor quad where there were what looked like other hotels or residences where the view from the windows could look into my room without the blinds shut.

The location is very convenient for those who want to walk around the wall of the old town after dinner. It takes 2 mins walk to a carrefour supermarket, 5-10 mins walk to the center of the old town. Will definitely choose this hotel again if I come back for the beautiful beach and old town! By the way, the speed of the wifi is among the best I have experienced in hotels in France.

We came to Saint-Malo in June and sometimes it is warm in summer. It is a pity that the hotel only provides heater but not air conditioner. Nevertheless, most of time the weather is cool-to-cold in Saint-Malo. I can understand why the hotel does not have it. It was OK for me when I open the window to have fresh wind outside.

It was in a perfect location…close all the sites and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and the owner was a sweet heart. She made sure we got our bearings and gave us some great suggestions. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again!

The property was in a central location, but was still quiet and peaceful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the facilities were great - I particularly loved the shower gel! Patricia was friendly, welcoming and helpful. I loved my stay at Hotel des Abers, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

- Location is brilliant within the city's walls (intra-muros). - Staff is friendly and helpful. I particularly enjoyed conversing with Helder at the reception, who gave me a lot of recommendations for what to do in Saint-Malo, and was simply friendly to chat with and great at his job. - Staff were also flexible and communicated effectively when I asked questions about late check-in before arriving. - Room was good and bed was comfortable.

It's a small building so it was a little noisy when people in nearby rooms got in or out. But it wasn't a major inconvenience either.
