Breakfast didn’t allow masses of choice over a three day stay but what was provided was fine and value ok at e16. We stayed in The Pavillion with our dog which gave us our own garden. Beautiful grounds. Every single member of staff we encountered could not have been more helpful. Provided a safe space to keep our valuable bike at no extra charge.

The road outside the hotel is narrow and twisty and the entrance to the drive is tight - regular speeding drivers make access concerning. Steps up to the hotel reception are steep and difficult though hotel staff are happy to help with heavy luggage on request.

We returned to this hotel having stayed here for two nights the year before and had really enjoyed our stay. Just south of Tours and only a short ride into the city. The hotel is nicely decorated and we opted for a room overlooking the front gardens for this stay which was very comfortable. We did not use the Spa on this occasion however the massage last year was extremely relaxing after a long car journey. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings, knowing from last year that the food is wonderful and as the weather was lovely we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks on the terrace overlooking the beautifully manicured gardens.

We are avid tennis players and none of the three tennis courts are maintained. We played on the best of the three which had considerable cracks in the concrete so you never knew where your ball would end up, but it was fun. The menu is quite limited with a choice of 3/3/3 although it is always beautifully cooked and delicious. However when we asked if the choice of potatoes could be changed to something available on another dish, the curt reply was that "it was not possible" and the member of staff would not even ask the chef. In this day and age of dietary requirements it is quite unusual to be blankly refused for a small change to be made. It would not stop us eating in the restaurant, however it would be better if they could be more accommodating.

This is a good chateau hotel on the way to being a great one but it's not quite there yet. Food was good, beds were comfortable, and the setting was beautiful.

The hotel had missed my request for twin beds and originally put us in a room with a smallish double bed on the first floor. Their original suggestion that we trade with my sister-in-law and her daughter, which would have solved nothing as they'd have then had the same issue we had. The hotel then did move us to another room with twin beds on the ground floor. Perhaps because they hadn't had time to air it out, it felt damp and smelled a bit mildew-y. The food at the restaurant was quite good, but the service was not as polished as I'd expect from a top rated chateau restaurant. Not that it was bad, it just didn't have the final finesse.

Wonderful location, a hidden gem with beautiful surroundings. Very friendly and helpful staff. A great menu deal for dinner and a well organized breakfast.

The beds were somewhat on the hard side (to my taste) and a bit small (for my size) and the locations has to endure what so many now have to endure: the invasion of the brown marmorated stink bugs. They are of course harmless to humans, but when it's cold they want to come indoors too. They are all over France now. What a shame.

Lovely historic hotel. The hotel property was truly beautiful. Plenty of parking. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The dinner we had one night at the hotel was expensive but very nice.

Location was outside Tours and unless you drive all the way into that very congested and dirty city, there were no restaurants nearby except a few fast food joints.

Lovely staff, good room, totally pet friendly, safe free parking, enjoyable spa plus amazing food in the restaurant. The owners are onsite and run the place (wife front of house, husband the chef). This was a second visit and on our radar for a third!

The ability to have an afternoon snack would have been appreciated

Everything during our stay was great. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely with a homely feel, comfortable bed and good bathroom. Plenty of storage for clothing. We booked for dinner which was amazing as was the huge choice of wine.

Nothing - we loved it here.

The efficiency welcome and pleasantness of the front of house staff for both dinner and breakfast. The quality of the food was impressive, The reception staff were also effective and helpful

The twin room in the annex was not the largest we have stayed in but it was clean and comfortable and therefore this is not really a critisism

The Chateau is a beautiful old building thats looking a little tire around the edges, but none the less an excellent place to stay. It is situated just South of Tours, but easy to get to by car, an excellent stopover for travellers going North - South through France. The grounds are extensive and lead down to a pretty little river, a great place to stay if you have your pet with you. The grounds and the main building are wonderful, as is the drinks terrace and the dining terrace, a must if you are staying for the evening meal. There are two menus options, three or four courses for 47 euros or 57 euros. The food is excellent, French fine dining, except that the main course was served just about warm enough and on cold plates, this needs attention. We throughly enjoyed our stay, a small luxury experience after a hard days driving from the South.

The bedrooms in the Pavilion are fairly standard/basic but do have wi-fi, shower and bath plus air con. As travellers, we could do with some tea and coffee making provisions to start the day off with, as the formal breakfast does not always suit those who need to get back on the road early the next day. As mentioned before, the main course food was not hot enough. The tatty torn cushion on the drinks terrace needs to be sorted out.

We arrived a bit earlier than expected and we were told that the room wasn’t going to be ready until 4pm , we had to suggest options in what to do rather than the receptionist. Eventually all was good
