Helpful staff and good basic facilities. Very well situated for the metro into the centre of Paris. Popular area for young professionals and an excellent variety of independent shops.

You need to be fit enough to climb the period staircase and room facilities are very basic.

We stayed in the room with balcony, on the top floor. It was really nice, a bit bigger then standard in Paris. Location is perfect to discover the city- you need 20 min to reach Montmartre on foot; 20 min to reach Louvre. Metro is located in 2 min. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby. The room was very clean, sleeping was comfortable. Breakfast is proposed by the hotel though we did not take it. What else do you need in Paris? :)

Just to be aware that there is no elevator in the building. Therefore for disabled people it may be not the best choice.

A lovely hotel, in a great location, about 10 minutes walk from the Gare du Nord, and close to the metro and bus stops. The room was great- clearly recently refurbished, with plenty of space for the two of us. A really comfortable bed, and a spacious bathroom. Our room had a view over the street, but the double glazing meant it was quiet and we slept really well. We had breakfast at the hotel, and there was plenty of food to choose from in their cosy dining area - bread, pastries, cheeses & meat, yoghurt, jam, fruit juice, and unlimited tea and coffee.

How does Hotel Ernest Treated Me Upon check-in on 15/1/2025, the receptionist confirmed that my room reservation included breakfast, with service starting at 7:30 AM. However, when I went for breakfast the following day, another receptionist informed me that breakfast was not included in my booking. I was surprised, as I had booked in English and believed breakfast was part of the package. Since the reservation details were in French, I relied on my initial understanding and the screenshot of the deal I had saved. The receptionist clarified that breakfast was not included because I had not paid the additional €15. I requested a written confirmation of this, but he declined. Seeking help, I contacted my mentor, who assisted in reviewing the reservation. After about 10 minutes, I realized I had overlooked selecting the breakfast option during the booking process. The reservation system defaulted to "no breakfast," even though it displayed “exclusive breakfast” during the booking steps. I returned to the front desk, intending to pay for the breakfast. There, I met the manager, who apologized for the misunderstanding. To my surprise, he informed me that the hotel would not charge me for the two breakfasts, even though the error was mine. Despite my insistence on paying, he kindly refused and wished me a pleasant trip. On my second morning, I chose not to have breakfast and mentioned to the new receptionist at check-out that I owed for one meal. She checked the system and confirmed there was no balance due. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Hotel Ernest for their exceptional service. Their professionalism, empathy, and commitment to customer satisfaction went beyond expectations. I also hope Booking.com considers refining its interface to minimize customer confusion during the booking process. Thank you again, Hotel Ernest, for making my stay memorable. Diem Vuong

The hotel is tiny and is located inside a building, where a full vertical line belongs to it. All the stuff I engaged with was 10/10 - super helpful, cheerful and nice. They went the extra mile for me to call a shop and explain some details in French. I was also once given a charger cable as I lost one. The room is very small but very nice and clean. The bathroom is very good, with a toilet and a shower. The hotel is very clean.

One IMPORTANT thing for you to consider is that on the first floor where the reception is located, there are 3 or 4 rooms. I was given a room on this floor. The reception desk was located 6-7 meters from my door, which made me uncomfortable. I was afraid the noise from people walking or talking would distract me, but I hadn't heard anything, so from a quiet perspective, it was ok. Psychologically, it wasn't great, though. However, there is a room that is literally 2 meters away from the reception desk! So, beware!

That was exactly what I expected: a nice historic building with cozy interiors, so it feels like you're staying at your French grandma's house - that's what I wanted. A single room is not big, but it is big enough for one person and doesn't lead to a claustrophobic crisis like others. The interior is nice, and the room itself is comfortable. There's a sheet system, which took me a bit to figure out how it works, but I succeeded. And what I liked the most was the beautiful windowsill where you can sit and drink your coffee while observing the street - feels quite romantic =)

I would like more sugar and milk for the coffee, as one package of each is not enough, so I had to buy it in the store in front of the hotel. And I guess some would consider a bit of a creaky bed a disadvantage, but for me, it even straightened my "visiting French grandma's house" experience.

It’s located steps away from metro station. Very cute small hotel. I loved my single room with only one bed. Perfect for one person. There was a kettle, coffe, herbal teas to prepare. Bathroom is small, but it’s expected on this kind of hotels. Receptionist was very kind and tried his best to communicate in English. Surroundings feel safe at night for a solo female traveler.

Although the hotel sends you a message warning you about this, it’s still an issue that there’s no elevator, especially if your room is on the fourth, fifth or sixth floor. Mine was on the fourth, and although it wasn’t that terrible to go upstairs, I can’t imagine going to the fifth or sixth with luggage. Overall, it’s a pretty nice hotel.

The hotel is very good! It's in the heart (exact center) of Paris, close to all sights, which are accessible by short walk, as well as to variable stops of the public transport. The room was perfectly clean and every day they offered additional maintenance-throwing the garbage, changing the towels, supplying with coffee and tea. Our room had a little balcony, which was ideal spot for having a glass of wine or smoking a cigarette. In the room there was a coffee mashine (capsule one) and very good hair dryer. The bed was really convinient, even for us, as very tall people. In a conclusion, I recommend visiting Hotel Ernest when you visit Paris.

I can point two small negative sides: 1) the lack of elevator- but we were kindly warned for this fact several times by the hotel stuff, so we weren' t suprised and that was not a problem for my husband. 2) the size of the room-I wish it was bigger, but the size was specified in the offer.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was fairly small but perfectly adequate for a short stay, the bed was very comfortable with nice linens, and the bathroom was very nice. The breakfast area is fairly small but there was always enough room and the breakfast itself was very good—meats and cheeses, boiled eggs, yogurt, jams, fruit, baguettes, croissants, coffee, tea, orange juice, cereal, etc. The location is convenient for those arriving at the Gare du l’Oest or Gare du Nord, and there is a metro station half a block away.

Street noise was a bit of a problem for us as light sleepers who like to sleep with the window open. Other than casual ethnic restaurants we had difficulty finding places for a nice meal nearby, Our room was on the fifth floor so the lack of an elevator was an issue, but we knew about that ahead of time and the person at the reception desk kindly offered to help carry our luggage upstairs when we arrived.

Loved everything about our stay. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and tidy. The bed was super comfy, and the shower was lovely and hot. The breakfast was very tasty and filling and had plenty of choice. The no elevator was not an issue for us, and the wooden stairs added to the charm. The e communication from the hotel prior to our stay was exceptional. The room was big enough for the two of us and so quiet. The wifi was good, and having usb ports available was a nice touch. The front door is locked so safe and secure. The location was also perfect for our needs. If we ever visit Paris again we will definitely book another stay.
