July 2024

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Saint Andre des Arts (hereafter SAdA) from June 25 - June 30, 2024. It was our first time in this hotel in ~ 15 visits to Paris (we do not remember the exact number). SAdA was by far the best hotel we have experienced in Paris, and in terms of personal help to us, the best hotel we have visited world-wide. Obviously, there exist more opulent hotels. Here's why we prefer SAdA: We chose SAdA because it is centrally located in (to us) the liveliest and most interesting part of Paris. Yet our room was quiet, completely comfortable, and large enough to accommodate our extensive luggage (we came to summertime Paris from the far-northern arctic). So the usually easiest needs for comfortable living were very well met. That, to a large extent, is more or less true for other hotels, too. What makes SAdA unique is the over-the-top excellent help that they have provided for our short and (in practice) challenging visit. My wife is 81 years old and walks with difficulty. We wanted to experience cultural and scenic highlights, some of them new and others that are "old friends" with which we wanted to reconnect. We wanted to do as much as possible in our too-short 5-day visit. The hotel staff and manager went far beyond our expectations to help. In collaboration with us, they booked an opera at Palais Garnier, the ballet Swan Lake at Opera Bastille, and a concert at the Sainte Chapelle, successfully getting superb seats. They printed the tickets, and they arranged private transportation for us both there and back. Two of the tickets were bought for performances on the same night. The private car service that they arranged also allowed us to return to many of our favorite haunts without straining my wife' limited walking capacity. SAdA turned a short visit into a triumph. We give Hotel Saint Andre des Arts our highest recommendation.

The location is superb. I stayed in two different rooms, the first was 18 square meter and faced the inner courtyard, so it was quiet. The water pressure is excellent, beds are good, linens are lovely and the daily cleaning was spot on. The second room was one of the large rooms, perhaps 30 square meters and the bathroom had a shelf. Breakfast was fine.

The room is petite and it's hard to find room for your luggage. The bathroom is a bit of a challenge as there's nowhere to put your stuff other than a hook. If your room faces the street there's lots of noise on the weekend nights until 3:00 a.m., and the restaurant deliveries begin at 6:15 a.m. Ear plugs didn't suffice. Breakfast could use a delicious baguette and/or better croissants.

The overall experience was definitely lovely! First of all, the location of the hotel was literally amazing! All the sightseeings, needed metro stations, grocery shops, cafes, restaurants - everything is nearby! The staff of the hotel were super friendly and helpful! The lady that was serving the breakfast was a mere sunshine that was making my day even brighter:) The room was always clean. Though this area is definitely lively and has a lot of restaurants nearby, it was always silent in the room, so that I had everything I needed for a good sleep at nights.

I cannot say that there was something I completely didn’t like, but there were some things that I might have improved: 1) there was no iron in the room, however, it was listed on the facilities list when I made a booking (maybe, it should be given upon a request) 2) unfortunately, breakfast was the same from day to day (it was good, but I think it’s more suitable for those who stay for a short period - I was staying for 7 days and by the end of my stay I had a couple of breakfasts at the cafes outside since I felt like I need a bit more diversity) 3) I was a bit disappointed by the size of the room, it’s really small even for one person (it was not a big problem for me since during the day I was mostly out, but having more space could have made this stay even more convenient).

Beautifully decorated, GREAT location. Clean, comfortable, with friendly staff, lovely breakfast, quirky, beautiful old building. Room 24 was great with high ceilings. 41 more of an attic vibe — also really cute but not as spacious a feeling.

If anyone in your party has any balance or mobility issues, make sure they use the elevator and never the stairs. Because it’s a cool old building, the stairs are inconsistent in terms of height and slope. Only relevant to parties with someone older or with balance issues.

The hotel could not have a better location for access to a variety of dining choices. This is a happy, lively neighborhood. I saw people of all ages enjoying their dinner hour nearby (as did I). Over my week’s stay I met several of the hotel’s desk attendants. Each was gracious, helpful, friendly. The hotel is cheerfully and tastefully decorated.

I spoke with one of the desk attendants about an improvement I had wished for at breakfast. She agreed. No need to say more since hopefully the change has been made.

The Hotel was comfortable and it’s in a great location for Musee D’Orsay, Notre Dame and the Louvre. Lots of great restaurants & bars nearby as well as Metro stations, so a perfect location from which to explore Paris. The only thing to remember is to request a quiet room because there is an all-night bar/pub opposite and it’s noisy outside until the late early hours. You can get the Metro from Gare du Nor straight to Odeon station (Line 4) which is less than a 5-min walk from the Hotel.

We booked a Standard Double Room (Chambre Double Standard) for 6 nights. The location of the hotel is excellent, it’s a couple of minutes' walk to the "Odeon" metro station, and a 5-7 minute walk to the river Seine and Notre Dame. There are many good and not expensive cafes & restaurants nearby, and the supermarket "Carrefour" is around the corner. The service at the hotel is wonderful. The staff is pleasant and attentive. At our request, we got a quiet room. Windows of the rooms are with good sound insulation. Robes, slippers, and toothbrushes are provided at request. Every day the water bottle is replenished, and coffee capsules, tea bags, and small chocolates are added. Towels are changed daily. The air conditioning works well for both heat and cold, you can regulate the temperature yourself. The bathroom has a towel dryer, which can be turned on with a heating button. All rooms at the hotel have carpeted floors.

The standard room (16 sq. m.) has a very small bathroom. The total width is up to one meter. But taking into account the sink and hot towel dryer, half a meter remains for changing clothes. I’m thin, but while changing clothes I touched my body either to the wall or to the dryer, which was very unpleasant and hot. Therefore, I recommend booking a room of a higher category; it will probably have wider bathrooms.

For the price, I was very surprised by the size of the room, comfort of the beds and quality of the staff, including the little touches like spa robe, slippers, safe, Madeline’s upon check in, hand written welcome note, water in the room, etc. We had an executive room and it was very comfortable for two.

The TVs are not smart TVs so you cannot stream from your devices. Also could not figure out how to access any sort of channels/entertainment. Purchasing smart TVs for the rooms is an inexpensive and easy fix.

The location is excellent. The neighborhood is full of restaurants and bars. The proximity to other areas and amenities is close, and it has good connections to public transport. The entrance to the hotel is very nice, everything is nicely decorated and extremely clean. The beds are extremely comfortable.
