The location was phenomenal! Very close to many many restaurants and cafés, walking distance to the Orsay, the Louvre, Saint Chapelle, Notre Dame. The hotel itself was very comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were modern and with plenty of space. The hotel staff could not have been better. We needed some extra help with a lost phone at the Orsay, and Jessica, at the Desk called there twice, helping us locate it and make sure it was in lost and found. All the staff spoke beautiful English and were extremely kind, friendly, and helpful.

The breakfast offered at the hotel was fine, but the space was a little crowded, and the coffee was not as hot as I’m used to. It was a great place to eat, though, especially on the first day or two while we were getting our feet under us. The staff in the breakfast area were very helpful.

Stayed there for three nights with my wife on our short visit to Paris. Excellent location right in the centre of Paris, restaurants everywhere and all attractions with walking distance. If not up for walking, there is a taxi area close by as well as a metro station. The hotel itself is quaint and full of old world charm, it’s an old building that has mostly been preserved and with the expected creaks and quirks. All the standard amenities are there, our room was small but cozy. The staff were friendly and helpful and you’ll find the hotel manager to be very charming and attentive. Our thanks go to Jessica who cheerfully and patiently answered every question we threw at her and was very helpful indeed. We highly recommend this hotel if you are planning a romantic whirlwind tour of Paris.

My small room had high quality bed linen and blankets, a comfortable bed, and beautiful quality furnishings were an added treat, plus the wonderful deep bath and a great pressure shower made for a really comfortable stay for one person. The staff were pleasant and approachable. The location is supberb!

I always aim to avoid chemical air fresheners and plug in devices (too many harmful toxins) so I didn’t like the ‘perfume’ in my room. I couldnot breathe it was so strong and burnt my throat, so I had to sleep with the windows open - not so good for many reasons.

Fantastic location with very friendly owner-manager. Step out the door onto lively rue de Buci with fun cafes, lots of fooderies, the market and charming galleries + shops. Easy to walk to the Seine access the rest of Paris. Although the hotel is small, it is great value especially if you are in and out and enjoy all that the Saint Germain area offers. Good wifi, no issues with the room. Easy to get to via RER train and metro from the airport. All around one of my favourites small, below the radar hotels.

Very central to places of interest, which are easily accessible by metro (subway) and/or train. -we were on the top floor so we can't hear much of the noise outside at night, walls are not completely sound insulated but not that thin either -breakfast was good for 12 euros -staff attended to our room everyday -Plenty of cafes / restaurants / bakeries around the vicinity -Plenty of boutique shops around the vicinity -100-metre walk to the main street where bigger shopping stores are

Nothing to complain, but be aware that the lift is small, like most 3 star hotels in Paris. So if you are travelling internationally and you have big luggages, it may take 2 trips for you to get them to your room. I would say you can fit 2 people with 2 big luggages and 2 carry-ons in one trip.

The hotel couldn't be at a better location, in the heart of St Germain de Pres and surrounded by stores, lots of restaurants and everything you need for a comfortable staying in Paris. The hotel is from the 1800s and is beautifully kept, the rooms are decorated like in those years with furniture resembling that bygone era. Beautiful, clean bathrooms with all toiletries that invite you to take a long shower. You step in the hotel and could easily think you are back in time. Breakfast takes place in the basement of the hotel used to be a cellar, a great place to begin the day with a full breakfast surrounded by its historic walls. The staff also is great and helped us get a cab on our last day.

Everything was perfect.

As we were upgraded to an executive room, we had an extremely large room with a shower and a bath, which is very unusual in Paris. We had stayed in this hotel before and we really enjoy the location. it could not be more central with a lovely bar opposite the hotel and many nice restaurants nearby. The downstairs lounge is big and pretty and allowed us to meet our friends there to talk in peace.

Despite the double glazing, we could still hear people in the street which was annoying.

Loved the decor, very clean and comfortable, right near lots of restaurants, had complimentary tea and coffee, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Location fairly good from tourist attractions. Would stay again. It was better than we thought as we thought the room would be small but was spacious, compared to a London one we stayed in. We didn’t use the elevator much as it was small, but mainly used it for our bags upon arriving and departure, which was good for that instead of steps. We caught mainly taxis and Ubers - Ubers found it harder to find the accomodation than taxis, as it’s in a side street.

People outside in shops and garbage truck one morning made a bit of noise but not the properties fault. It wasn’t a huge problem for us.

The lobby of the Grand Hotel de L'Univers Saint Germain was spacious, comfortable and very inviting. When I walked into the hotel, I knew my stay would be welcomed. And I was greeted as soon as I walked in! Most hotel rooms in Paris seem small, and is expected, but the decor made it seem roomy and included a desk for writing postcards home. The staff was friendly and answered ALL my questions. A view outside my window was an added bonus. Close to many restaurants and cafes in San Germain des Pres.

The room was small but considering the building dates from the 15th century the character far outweighs the need for a larger room. The bathroom was quite big with a full size bath. Each room has it's own decor and reflects typical French designs. No generic chain hotel here!! I had a lovely table and chair by the large windows that opened onto the street below. The location was superb. Just outside the door you are immersed in cafes, restaurants, patisseries and all things food related. Several Metro stations are nearby for easy access to all the sights of Paris I had the most wonderful week staying here and enjoyed every minute.
