We had a wonderful stay in l’Oriel! The accommodation was lovely, with central location and a nearby parking lot that was very handy for the number of miles we drove to explore the region. Both Marien and Aurelian, our hosts, were amazing. Always smiling, always tipping us good advice, long time friends by the end of our stay. Breakfast was delicious, with local products such as assortment of cheese and jams and bread. At night we enjoyed the peaceful silence of the village. I loved Oriel and I loved Alsace, it was a truly wonderful Experience and would love to come back. The town of Riquewihr is very small, within its walls, surrounded by green vineyards. The buildings are old and charming. The town's business is wine, plus tourism. The hotel is nestled in an old building on a narrow side street with access to a side gate into the town. Inside is traditional and cozy, with a pleasant reception area, an efficient elevator, a lovely breakfast room, and a useful staircase. Our room was fine, not large, wood-beamed, and overlooking the little street. The pleasant owners also are in charge of a couple of restaurants, so they are not available in the evenings.

The breakfasts were very pleasant, but rather pricey, at $17 @, as is the parking. conveniently close and private, at $12 a day. But within our budget.

Marien and Aurelien were wonderful hosts. Their kindness, attentiveness and care were really appreciated. We had one room (junior suite) in the annex and one room in the main building. The lift in the main building made it much easier for our elderly parents. Rooms were decorated in a rustic style which we really liked. Location of the hotel is excellent. We had breakfast every morning at the hotel, this was a simple tasty spread and it made starting the day easy for the group. Also very happy to be able to reserve a paid parking space.

The hotel and staff were fantastic! Located within the city walls the hotel was charming. We had 2 rooms and both rooms were updated with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. Both rooms were very clean and had comfortable beds and pillows. We paid extra for both breakfast and parking. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful (including a refill on coffee!). Parking was close by and fit our larger American style car. Additionally the walk from the parking had no steps and the elevator inside the hotel was fantastic for our older family members. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We loved our stay at Hotel à l’Oriel. We got (by the kindness of the staff) better rooms than booked as we visited during low season. They had just renovated one of the bathrooms and it looked amazing, we loved both rooms. Very cosy family hotel in the heart of Riquewihr. Staff was very helpful and kind. Isolation was good also as we did not hear any noises during the night. We will always remember our stay here, and especially Petit Frank will always be in our hearts.

Great comfortable hotel inside the remparts of Riquewihr. Our room had been very nicely remodeled with a great bathroom. We were pleased how they kept some of the original structures in the room. Yes, they got in the way but the charm was worth it. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs and were able to provide parking for our bicycles. The rooms were quiet and we never heard any neighbors. The bed was super comfortable which was a plus for our tired biking muscles. We didn't have the breakfasts but they looked wonderful. The hotel definitely offers the charm of the Alsace.

Just something to be aware of, we were on the top floor and we had one quite warm day during our stay. We were able to open the windows and fortunately the room had a fan but not a/c. The room still got a bit stuffy. We felt the lower floors were a bit cooler. If you are sensitive to heat, you might make note of this.

The location was perfect. The staff were all amazing. The beds were really comfortable. The shower was powerful. The decor was tasteful & very much in theme with the property & the village. The village is unique & a must to see. The hotel was located very close to the restaurant,s cafes shops etc but also very secluded & quiet. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough & it is excellent value for money .

Great property in the middle of the village, location is spot on. The interior of the rooms are very homely and there is a lot of decorations of roosters and chickens! Overall an enjoyable stay.

Was given a different room than the one booked but it’s fine as I would have preferred 2 beds rather than the suite with a sofa bed. The bathroom is newly refurbished but drainage is a bit slow for water to flow out. Parking is chargeable but you are also not able to leave your car on the property between certain hours so it may be better to park on the public street just about 50m away.

This hotel is located perfectly right in the center of the little town, which makes it easy to access shops and restaurants. The super friendly staff made me feel very welcome and it felt a lot more personal than a big hotel. The super cozy and beautiful characteristics of the hotel makes it feel a bit like a little fairytale. I loved it!

We stayed for one night In January but didn’t realise that almost every shop, bar, museum and restaurant in Riquewihr would be closed. Even the hotel bar was closed so there wasn’t alot to do. When we asked reception she said everything re opens in February, we wish that we had been informed of this when we booked.
