The breakfast was absolutely perfect. Traditionally european in style, fresh and nourishing. The table around which everyone gathered had a very convivial atmosphere due to Helen's welcoming and friendly guidance. In the evening Helen or Steve would light the fire in the sitting room which felt like being in your own home. We were so comfortable there. The bedrooms were also very comfortable with beautiful views of the mountains from the windows. We all slept so peacefully. There is a superb bath that goes with the bigger room in which we all indulged to rest our tired legs. Helen and Steve were perfect hosts they had so much knowledge of the area and were able to apply it accurately to our level of mountain activity. What more can I say.?.. We cooked for ourselves in the evenings as if we were in our own home. We felt as though we were as comfortable as when we are visiting friends. We would love so much to come back one day..and hopefully soon.

Everything. Honestly, it is storybook-ish in terms of the setting as well as the inn itself. The location is off the beaten path but a ridiculously beautiful walk to the village where you can find charming eateries and the train which runs into Chamonix. Helen and Steve are excellent hosts as well. They are warm, friendly, accommodating and keep a super clean “home”.

Not a both for us as we’re not big people, but the shower is tight. Just something to be aware of. And please read the details of the property ( accessibility, etc) to be sure it’s a good fit. Helen has included everything!

Beautiful house with lovely decor and thoughtful touches. A very lovely 'home from home'. Bedroom was comfy and the traditional Alpine balcony was a great extra. Breakfast was unbeatable - delicious, loads of it and some excellent scrambled eggs! The use of the kitchen in the evenings, the lounge, and the complementary tea and coffee are all brilliant extras....All in all, Helen clearly takes pride in welcoming guests and ensuring their stay is memorable- walking tips and info on the best place to eat nearby were really appreciated. Highly recommended!

Our recent stay in the Guest House was an absolute delight. The house's charming decoration blended with the natural surroundings, creating a very cozy atmosphere. Breakfast was great and we loved the concept of sharing a table with fellow guests. The hospitality of Helen and Steve were exceptional! Vallorcine has a special beauty compared to the other villages in the Chamonix valley. We loved our stay here and would definitely love to come back!

It's a wonderful place in a beautiful spot. With an owner and host who really makes you feel welcome and at home. You can start day hikes directly from the house or take the train to the next towns. But we often found ourselves enjoying the place itself before ultimately heading out to planned hike. Thank you Helen, we will definitely come back, see you then :)

Nice place in the woods. Short walk up from parking near the street.

It's a shadowy place and to get to the bathroom, you had to walk across a hallway. The bath is spacy, but so low, you can't really shower and have to kind of sit or kneel in the bathtub. Asking for €2 tax in the morning felt kind of ridiculous.

Our time at the guest house was a blessing, so quiet and truly dark at night, great for deep rest and recovery from a day of skiing. We stayed at the room with the bath tub, it was so delightful to soak before dinner time. The best part of our stay was the breakfasts and late evenings, when we gathered around the dining room table and chime in for conversations with guests from all over Europe. Helen, our host had such a maternal and nourshing presence, when she scrambles you eggs for breakfast and brings you coffee it is such a speacial feeling. We are thankful for a magical stay at Vallorcine and we are going to come back soon.

The guest house was spotlessly clean in all areas. Our room was very pleasant and comfortable, and we had no problem relaxing. The communal area was a home from home and a place where we were able to take in the great mountain views and enjoy the peaceful location of Vallorcine. We tried Helens Mountain breakfast, and there was plenty of good food provided for a substantial breakfast. Overall, Helen and Steve were great hosts, very hospitable, and we very much enjoyed staying at the Guest House, and certainly would again.

The stay was FANTASTIC. everything : from the location, to the warm welcome, amazing hosts and must-try breakfast option. Beds and pillows were super comfortable as well. The view from the booking was on another level.

Dropped into The Guest House for a rest day on the TMB. The location is excellent, less than 15 mins walk from the train station. The house is beautifully decorated, and the room was incredibly comfortable. Helen and Steve made me feel right at home, and i really enjoyed our conversations. Combined with a delicious breakfast in the morning before setting off, I recommend The Guest House as the spot to stay when passing through Vallorcine.
