Location is great, only 5 min walk from train station and only 10 min from the gates of the Palais de Versailles. Large room. Was able to drop bags at the hotel, which were then placed in the room once ready, so they were already there when checking-in later.

For a relatively large room, the bathroom was too small such that anyone of above average size is really squeezed in. Breakfast was good but limited. Bed was very hard.

Friendly and helpful staff. Also, after checkout, the gentleman who was running affairs allowed us to leave bags at the hotel until we were travelling. This was really helpful. Great location, 5 minutes from train station; 15-20 minute walk to Versailles Chateau. Easy after-hours access process, secure code door to get in later at night.

Our room was a bit tired, and old fashioned. But you have to keep in mind this is only a two star hotel. Hence, a price of €140 versus the Ibis across the road at €280 - for a budget hotel!!! So I really don't think that is a problem. Everything was clean and worked. No tea/ coffee facilities in the room. Just take the hotel for what it is, with a real family and helpful feel.

The owners are kind and helpful. Due to train problems, I arrived from Amboise after 10 p.m., and they kindly waited for me to check in at an unusual time. The breakfast was excellent with homemade delicious jams. i.e., 1) raspberry with chia seeds 2) Fig jam. I have got the recipe and hope I can make it. The hotel is clean and well organised. It is a 10-minute walk from the Versailles Palace and Gardens. The connection to Paris is also quite easy. There is a wonderful market on specific days. I was there on Saturday and could visit it. Again, it is walking distance from the hotel. I am looking forward to visiting Versailles again and staying at this hotel. Thank you very much!

My daughter and I spent 3 nights here to visit the Chateau. We normally stay in Paris but I'm so glad we decided to stay at Royal Hotel. We received a lovely welcome from the owners and you knew they would go out of their way to help you if you needed anything. We stayed in a Studio with a fridge, hob and kettle. It was perfect for our needs: spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, plenty of room for 2 and very quiet. There is a very good bakery on the same street - Aux Pains de la Ferme with a small Monoprix very close and a larger one about 10 mins away. The hotel is very near the Rive Gauche train station. You can walk easily to the entrance of the Chateau - book the very early slots for entry and get to see this exquisite place before the huge crowds arrive. Versailles itself is an elegant and fascinating town. If you have any energy for exploring after visiting the Chateau and you love boutique shops, French "art de vivre", lovely places to eat and drink and beautiful architecture you will be in heaven.

All the staff I spoke to were lovely! The room was clean and a good size. Great location, only about 10 minutes' walk to the Palace of Versailles and even less to the train station. Plenty of cafes and restaurants around too. I felt very safe and comfortable as a solo female traveller in the hotel, which is very important and a great plus point.

The room was quite cold, even with the radiator on. It was -5 outside though! So perhaps this was exceptional weather. There were extra blankets so the bed was toasty and comfortable but the room itself a bit nippy unless you were under the covers.

I loved the convenience of being ten minutes walk from the Palace of Versailles . There were numerous places to eat, all within a short walk. The rooms were spotless. I liked having a fridge in my room. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Our breakfast was excellent, especially the home- made preserves and cake. Thank you.

Nothing major. My room was on the third floor. There was a small lift which I used when moving my luggage. Using the stairs was good exercise.

The location was very convenient, both to the train station and Versailles The staff was very friendly and answered my many questions. At breakfast the staff was very attentive and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed.

There was no AC/fan and the room was very warm. I slept with the window open, which fortunately I had earplugs or I wouldn't have slept because there were trucks/garbage collection/ other noises throughout the night.

Loved the location and kitchenette. Kettle, microwave and a fridge with tiny freezer. Inside the freezer was an ice tray. Ice in our glasses was a treat for us. I was able to refreeze our ice packs for the trip. They gave us directions and ordered a taxi when we were ready to leave. It is located a couple of blocks from the palace and the C line which took us to the Eiffel tower and goes on to London. Loved the area. We felt very safe out walking after dark. Markets next door to it and restaurants all over. Awesome place.

There is no air conditioning. But we were gone all day and opened the windows at night. I would not stay here in the summer. We were there first week of October and it was in the upper 70s.

Everything!! It was a perfect location, close to versailles Palace and Rive Gauche Station. Clean and tidy rooms, made up daily if required. Breakfast was fantastic with homemade cake and jams, plenty of tea and coffee, cheese and ham, mini croissants and pain au chocolat. Definitely good value. Friendly staff, very helpful. Stayed in a double , double bed room perfect for the 3 of us. Fan available if needed. Close to supermarkets, bakery shops, and restaurants. Well done the Royal Hotel !!

Nothing, it couldn't have been any better. If you are expecting shiny modern this is not for you. It's traditional but comfortable. Lift available. No bar but drinks available on request.

Breakfast was served at the table and that mean portions were measured, but still overall the selection was good just no hot food The room was comfortable, albeit the neighborhood was a bit rowdy on one night Great people running the show and pleasant to talk to did their best with english.

the shower too small for easy maneuverability but did work, the shower gel was too high up the wall as I had impaired ability to reach it. Nothing else to complain about for the price
