Very quirky bedroom decor and a beautiful traditional building with wooden staircase detail - it seemed appropriately unusual for a stay in Berlin. Everything was very clean - and though we shared a bathroom, it was kept spotless and always stocked with hand-wash and loo roll. The room was large, with an extra single bed, light and airy with plenty of storage, bedside tables and reading lights. The beds were firm and comfortable Our room had working radiators for colder weather and a fan for warmer months. The location of the hotel was perfect for our interrailing trip, being 12 minutes from the station and a similar distance to the river, Brandenburg Gate etc. There was a Lidl close by, Domino's Pizzas and a few other eateries. We had a very pleasant 3 day stay here.

You could certainly hear the trains with the windows open but when we closed the windows at night, it was more of a background noise and didn't bother us at all. Earplugs are provided. I expect the noise would bother some people. There was no kettle in the room but coffee was available to purchase in the lobby. There is no TV - not a problem for us, but some people might have expected one. We occasionally smelled weed in the corridors leading to our bedroom. Whilst the shared bathroom and showers were clean, we did have to wait to use the loo occasionally. 2 unisex loos might be better than a male and female set-up.

I picked this hotel because of its quirky nature and convenient location. I wasn't disappointed. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially Flo, who was a regular fixture and always happy to accommodate the guests; he allowed me to borrow a kettle and a phone charger for the duration of my stay. I loved the unique atmosphere and if you just walk around to the back of the hotel, you are only a two-minute walk to a remaining section of Berlin Wall. The morning croissant and bottomless coffee for 5 Euros, available in reception, was a great idea and when I chose to have the more elaborate breakfast on my last day, it was also fantastic with lots of choices in the buffet. Location wise, the hotel is situated in between two train stations (including the main station) and it is literally a five-ten minute walk. There are lots of shops and restaurants close by and the river is a two minute walk along the road. If you're a traveller that likes something different from a generic hotel, please consider Arte Luise, as it really is something special.

As an avid tea drinker, I was disappointed to see that my room didn't have tea/coffee making facilities. The domestic service was quite sporadic and inconsistent, and they didn't replenish the tiny shower gel's that I had used up after two showers. In the end, none of this was an issue because Flo and his colleagues provided me with a kettle and a mug, and spare shower gel bottles when I requested them.

I stayed in a single room. It was a great room. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully designed. It was great to have my own bathroom. The hotel itself was also very well designed. If you are interested in interior design like me, this hotel offers a great experience. It was also very close to the city's important points. Yes, a train passes by, but that didn't bother me at all. Earplugs were provided for those who might be bothered. In short, it was great. I would stay again. Best wishes from a Turk living in Italy.

The accommodations were comfortable and clean, the staff always helpful. The shared space in the foyer was a plus. The room was very quiet, even as trains go by only a few tens of metres from the window. The location is not far from both the main station and the Friedrichstrasse station. It's really very easy to move around Berlin from here.

The only thing not to like was the lack of an elevator (I did know about this beforehand), especially when arriving with a large heavy suitcase.

They have made a good attempt to provide single occupancy room at a little higher price than shared hostel rooms. Often people wanting privacy at a budget will find this useful, The room is simple, with a bed, a small stool, a mirror, small washbasin and a TV (which wouldn't switch on!). The place is about 15 / 20 mins from main train station and the riverside. I quite liked the art on the wall of my room. There is an elevator to take you up to higher floors. There is luggage storage in the reception for extra hours.

The windows weren't clean. The TV did not really work - but I didn't bother to ask because I was mostly out travelling. Since it was a separate room, a kettle in the room with some teabags would add to the value. The baths could be cleaner. Yes, its near to the rail line so there is train noise, but wouldn't bother one if they were a sound sleeper. Door locks were quite loud.

Near to the train station, within walking distance of 15min.

Though it was meant to be artistic and creative, I think, the setting of the room was not my liking. Lot of writings on the wall, giving me a "messy" feeling. I happened to walk past another room which is monotone in colour, I think I will prefer the plain and clean type of room. Yet this is personal preference, those who love contemporary arts may love this room. The toilet was not that clean either. Happened that one of the guests got the sink stuck and water could not flow out properly. So the rest of the users will have to bear with it for the whole night.

Unbeatable location for the rate, room was cute and cozy. There is breakfast available if you want but it's close enough to central Berlin that you can opt out. Luggage storage available after and before check-out. Very charming little courtyard. Temperature control with AC. Major train route behind the building is a drawback but there are earplugs provided and if you're a heavy sleeper like me, keeping the windows closed will be enough.

It's in a great location close to the Brandenburg Gate end of town. It was right by the railway but we barely heard anything and actually felt very quiet. It had a separate lounge area which I was not expecting so maybe we were upgraded - but it was a great space to be in.

It was hot when we were there (high 20's Celcius) and although they provided a fan - it was a tower fan so mostly moved area against the bed frame. We stuck it on a chair but space was tight. A pedestal fan (or 2) would have made sleeping more comfortable. But I expect most of the year it would have been fine.

The room was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The hotel was in an excellent location, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. It was nice that you could buy drinks and breakfast there. I would definitely stay there again.

The first two or three days, the weather was very hot and we wanted to open the window as there was no air conditioniong in our particular room, but the noise of the trains was terrible so we had to keep it shut. We used the ear plugs provided which helped a bit. The style of the room was nice but we couldn't sit up in bed as it wasn't against a wall or had a bedhead but apart from these things the hotel was great. I would definitely stay there again but next time I would ask for a room in the new part with airconditioning.

Lovely spacious building; great location near sights and 15 minutes walk from main station. Quiet street but lively restaurants and bars 5-10 minutes walk away. The hotel manages to be both characterful and comfortable, and has great facilities for travellers such as free lockable storage. We booked a room with a shared bathroom and it was a huge, clean bathroom with an excellent shower shared between only 2 rooms, so great value.

Very little. No air con but fan provided was fine on a warm summer night. We didn't actually have artworks in our bedroom, just blank boards, but the room was attractive anyway.
