The ship is at a prime location at the river front (Slachte) next to the historic centre of Bremen. The (former) Sailing Ship is an historic monument itself, but is also a restaurant, bar and hotel. The ambiance is great. The restaurant is cosy and the food is good.

The hotel rooms (cabins) have bunk beds and are very small (although the bathroom is decent in size with shower and toilet). The top bunk bed is difficult to climb in or out due to the low ceiling. Some rooms ought to be equipped with narrow beds for 2 person occupation. There is a small TV set, but you cannot watch if from the bed and there are no chairs either. Just leave them out... Price for double occupation in low season is a bit over the top. For single person it is reasonable.

Very good location, from here we could reach everything (restaurant, shopping, sightseeing) on foot. It was also very quiet, despite the exposed location. We only heard the bell from the church next door when we were up on deck, but not in the room. The rooms are of course cramped, they are ship cabins, but everything was very clean, practical and as expected. The crew is very nice, starting with the check-in (safety briefing on the ship), the offer to have a nightcap in the evening, and especially the service at breakfast. The selection is sufficient, we got extra eggs and were able to have breakfast outside on deck in the sun. It was exciting to walk around the ship, you shouldn't miss the ship feeling. We had a very nice stay in Bremen!

It is so central to the town and public transport. The staff were very friendly and attentive during our stay. It's definitely an experience and something different staying on a ship! The rooms are quite small however that is what we expected booking the stay. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom/shower had good space and water pressure.

We were welcomed warmly by a great team and this was much appreciated! The Alex is very well located for exploring Bremen, and the bar/restaurant area up on the deck and on the quay are lovely for enjoying a drink in the sun. The novelty of the cabin format was fun too

Quirky accommodation on an old three-masted barque, tied up immediately next to the pld city centre. Location could not be better. Great nautical atmosohere.

This is an old sailing ship and accommodation is in cabins with bunk beds. Steep companionways descend to the cabins. Definitely not for the disabled! Bring mosquito repellant. Ventillation is by one porthole. You must keep it open to breathe, but then the mosquitoes come.

Tiny rooms as you would expect on a boat... Really authentic... Breakfast was great... Upstairs is a nice place to eat and drink in the evening... Expect some time when going for dinner as the kitchen is small...

This was a really unique experience, my kids were super happy. The ship is super cute and original. The staff is amazingly friendly and super attentive to help with any problem. Its really the nicest service in Germany. The breakfast is fresh and the kids loved it . Definitely recommendable adventure to anyone.

Great location right on the schlachte on the bank of the river Wasserstein great for a base to explore the city A really fun place to stay comfortable - great staff and service and a good breakfast- easy to get to from the motorway - will be be back again

I was fine i slept well but if you have long legs the bunk beds might be a little short so see you can find a room with beds for tall people but my husband being tall he was fine for one night - and again it’s an experience and not a disaster I slept wonderfully

The hotel is an old ship and therefore has lots of charme and unique features. Staff are very open, friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a good choice for the size of the hotel and we just enjoyed being there and having a look around.
