Perfect location. Very traditional. I've stopped at the Fraundorfer perhaps 10 times over 30 years. I've never had a bad experience. It's remarkable how the same family have kept the perfect balance of the modern world (eg IT) where required, yet at front of house have managed to maintain the unchanged appearance of traditional Bavarian kitchen & music/show as when i first saw as a casual diner in 1991.

If im being picky i think breakfast is now over priced. Although I recognise that the inclusive room & breakfast prices im remembering are perhaps not appropriate to today's trading conditions.

Our group had a wonderful holiday at this hotel. We felt cared for every single moment. Andrea is an incredibly friendly and warm-hearted person – she helped us with all our questions, gave us great ideas on how to spend our time, shared stories about the hotel and the family, and we laughed together from the heart. The hotel is located in a 10 minute walk from railway station. It has a plenty restaurants and shops around. The hotel is very cozy and has a special Bavarian charm. You can feel that every detail in the interior has been chosen with love, and each time you notice something new. The breakfast was rich and varied. In the evenings, we enjoyed live music, entertainment program, and amazing food – just keep in mind that the portions are very generous! Absolutely every member of the staff was cheerful and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere that made us feel truly expected and appreciated. We also noticed that many locals chose to stay at the hotel, which says a lot. Andrea and Barbara – we would come back to you in a heartbeat!

Everything. Every single moment of it, the city provided experiences I will carry with me for a lifetime and Gasthof was one of the reasons that made such adventure possible. What else can I say? There’s something timeless about Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and your place captures that spirit perfectly. From the charm of the building to the warmth of the welcome, everything felt authentic, grounded, and effortlessly cool. It was the kind of experience that stays with you. Danke Schön and until next time. Felipe Sampaio Castanheira

Not one single complaint.

The room was (#14) had the best view in the entire hotel. Partenkirchen, Alpspitz and Zugspitze front and center. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Big, comfortable bed and a rustic Bavarian farmhouse theme. The restaurant is a wonderful, genuine Bavarian experience. The food is authentic and plentiful. The ambiance and entertainment makes it all the better. Staff is friendly, outgoing and helpful. They are very proud of Hotel Fraundorfer, and rightfully so. Partenkirchen is a quieter option to Garmisch, but is only a few minutes walk away from Garmisch's shopping, entertainment, Bahnhof and Zugspitzbahn. Partenkirchen oozes culture, history and culinary indulgence with every step on Ludwigstrasse. I will stay here every time I travel to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The bathroom is a little small, but I'm 6'5" and most places seem small to me. Hardly worth mentioning.

This hotel needs no advertising - the best in Partenkirchen. Skip chain hotels and enjoy true Bavarian style and charm. Very well decorated, all rooms clean and equipped with new furnishings. You must have dinner at its restaurant - truly authentic. We had Christmas dinner, and all of sudden the entire staff gathered and sang the Silent Night together with guests. You will have tears rolling how great this family run establishment is. Not to mention live music every night and traditional dance!

The breakfast had a good selection of usual German fare to get you started for the day, laid out in a cosy setting. The main part of the hotel complex was the original building and had retained a lot of its original features. The restaurant is very popular and was always well attended during our stay. This is of little wonder has the meals were good and wholesome and there was entertainment each evening; in the form of Bavarian folk music, accompanied by male dancers with much ankle and thigh slapping.

There is nothing that springs to mind. Although it must be remembered that being an original building retaining a lot of its authenticity; there are no lifts in the main building, but I did notice that they were available in the annexes.

We were met very warmly after our long journey over the mountains, met by Barbara, the owner who took a personal interest in our entire stay. All her staff are exceptional, so helpful and friendly. Our room was comfortable and the breakfast (extra €16.50) was fantastic, a wide range of produce, something to suit everyone. We also ate in the evening in the hotel restraunt, we had the local pork hock dish, very well presented. Also, we had live traditional Bavarian entertainment. It's a great place to stop.

The staff deserve a night off, so when that happens there are not too many other places to eat so plan for that.

We booked a junior suite. Actually, it was a two bedroom apartment. We had our own sitting room and a kitchen. The restaurant was very traditional Bavarian style with performances. Very enjoyed it.

The glasses and mug needed to be cleaned before using them. May be we were not supposed to use them because the owner marketed it as junior suite and didn’t mention about the kitchen under the facilities list. It was not a big deal, just clean them before using them. This matter didn’t stop me coming back.

Beautiful carefully decorated in a classic Austrian style. Nice kitchen area as well as 2 nicely appointed bedrooms, 2 and 1/2 bath and a cute balcony. Right next to very popular restaurant owned by the same family with delicious Austrian dishes. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was also just down the road from Parnach Gorge and also not far from Zufspitze. There is not air-conditioning, but we found we didn't need it. We were there first of August but it still wasn't that hot. And in the evening it cools very nicely so you can open the windows and it gets very comfortable. We visited Spain and Italy beforehand... Austria does NOT get super hot like they do. There was often a short rain shower once a day and it was a very comfortable temp most of the day. In fact... take a jacket for visiting the higher mountain peaks. In summary, wonderful place to stay. We would go again in a heartbeat.

The parking is really tight but there is some available close or you have to park further away in public parking. We were able to find a spot though the 2 nights we were there. ... breakfast is available but not included and a little expensive

Loved the location and the comfortable simple accommodation. Barbara, the owner, made us feel welcome and like guests in her own home. We really enjoyed dinner and the traditional german slap dance performance. The pride in Bavaria was celebrated and made the experience all the more memorable. The Hotel also provides guests with a pass that provides free bus transportation in town and discounts at area attractions.
