In general location terms it was excellent. It was only a very short drive to Cochem and we had views directly over the Mosel. Breakfast was classic continental, German style, and we were very happy with it.

In the only flies in the ointment were firstly, the price you paid for having an unspoilt view of the Mosel was that the main road passed directly under your balcony, so there was some traffic noise. And secondly the lift taking you to street level could play up and not work.

The location was unbeatable as it is far enough from Cochem's noise and crowd, but with a short bus ride. It is also the best in Ernst as it has great view on all sides. The hotel also provided us with a free ticket for local transport that was a nice touch! The room was clean and very comfortable with decent size. The dinner menu changes every day and had the best food. After trying several places in the area we concluded the best meals we had were in the hotel and we would definitely stay all dinners there though the closing time was rather early for us, the hotel is quite flexible with its guests. Plenty of parking space in front of the hotel and the staff were all very nice and accommodating.

The breakfast could have more vegetable based products e.g., yoghurt, milk, etc., but that was not a huge deal for us.

The property is very well located and the surroundings are beautiful. It is close to Cochem and other nice little towns that are worth the visit. The staff is very friendly and their service is on top. The room had lovely views and was spacy and bright with a balcony to enjoy the scenery. We opted to have the half board and were not disappointed, with delicious and different meals every time.

If you are noise sensitive like me, it might be bothersome as the soundproof the floor is not that great. We were not bothered by the highway noise at all as this part of the charm but the footsteps from the guest upstairs sometimes became too loud and it sounded like banging or running hard all over the room ( even at late hours) which made it hard to relax in such an inviting set up.

Beautiful location directly on the Mosel with vineyards all around! Beautiful, well designed and maintained property. Excellent breakfast! Excellent views!

My only critique, and sadly it’s an important one being this is a hotel, is the bedding. Our bedsheets had a lot of animal hair and the pillows were not comfortable or good quality. The staff was wonderful and immediately re-made our beds, but unfortunately the first impression had already been made.

Lovely location, beautiful, clean room with balcony right by the river, great shower, very nice hotel overall with a great breakfast. Friendly helpful staff.

I booked this hotel in particular because it had a Spa & Wellness centre, however when we arrived I was told that we were unable to use these facilities as they were ‘fully booked’ so that was very disappointing indeed.

The staff was so friendly and amazing!! The hotel was beautiful. Our dinner and breakfast were excellent and gourmet. The wine, delicious! The room with a balcony to look out at the river was exceptional! I would stay here next time I’m in the Mosel valley for sure!

Nothing. I loved everything

Lovely property, friendly staff, easy and plentiful parking, gorgeous views across the Moselle. Had eaten a large late lunch prior to our arrival, asked if we could have cheese and bread which they provided.

Nothing to dislike

Comfortable bed, excellent shower, quiet even though looking out over the main road to the river. Restaurant menu very limited, but always includes a vegetarian main course. Quality of food excellent.

Very expensive compared to many other similar places in Germany. Subsequently found that prices on the hotels own website are much more reasonable than on Booking.com.

Location is magnificent. Breakfast buffet is plentiful. In the evening choice of 3 different menus including one vegetarian.

Too bad there is no air conditioning otherwise this would have been an outstanding.
