This is a hard stay to explain, hence delay in writing a review about it. There were a lot of initial concerns that made the actual stay itself not great, and quite an unpleasant experience. However, the staff really went above even my expectations for kindness, that let me give a higher review because it means a lot when staff care and show they are not just a "capitalist machine." Though, probably suggest reading the dislikes first. The hotel staff however in the morning apologized profusely and asked me for suggestions how they could better notify guests of other ways available to contact even when someone isn't on duty. They showed they cared... Which given the sleep deprivation and frustration I had, went an incredibly long way. They made it clear they found the source of the smell and that it could be rectified for future guests and gave me breakfast and treated me like a Christmas family member. The manager interacted with me with respect and consideration and empathy. To that I'll say that I originally gave 2 stars even though the shower pressure was good and the bed was comfortable and the rooms were quiet (these can be acknowledged even with a negative experience), but I've updated my rating just because of how I was treated by them even if after the situation. Because yes, hospitality still matters and empathy can go far.

In booking a hotel I didn't expect to have a self check-in. Wasn't a fan but they gave detailed instructions. I arrived in the evening and got my keys well enough, but the room I got had a putrid sewer smell to it. Couldn't even sit in the room while trying to get help. However they did not reply to emails or booking messages. It was not until I escalated with booking.com did they put me in a new room. The new room did not smell so I took it but the shower flooded the floor and there was no heat when it was 2C outside. But it was way too late to go through booking again to get help.

Great and friendly staff! Room is great, newly furnished, very efficient, small yet has all that I needed. I LOVED that they had a full gym across the street that you have access to. They provide you with a gym bag as the gym doesn't allow you to workout in the same shoes you walk in with (you have to change shoes in the lockers first) and the hotel provides you with two towels as the gym requires you to have a towel with you and no tank-top shirts allowed (shoulders must be covered). Otherwise, amazing gym workout while traveling which is a big deal to me! Also, super happy they had split unit AC's in the room.

This is a wonderful hotel, the staff are so welcoming and helpful. Spotlessly clean and very well decorated rooms. We had a great night's sleep, very quite, sound proofed rooms. Breakfast was lovely too. When you book to stay here try to book a meal for the Italian Restaurant next door, fabulous food, freshly made and really lovely staff. You can book the restaurant through the staff at the hotel.it is very reasonably priced too. All round great place, very handy for the motorway. We would definitely stay here again.

Nothing, faultless...

The location was fantastic, close to nearby cities of interest like Heidelberg. It was also in a quiet neighbourhood with supermarkets, bakeries and restaurants nearby. The room was very comfortable and had good amenities, including a minibar and air conditioning. The staff were all attentive and friendly. The free cycle rental and gym facilities were particularly excellent.

The wifi was not very good, it was often slow or not connected to the internet. The breakfast was ok, but didn’t have many vegan options.

Warm welcome, friendly staff, good choice for breakfast, the room was clean and the air conditioning was a very welcome when the weather was hot. Great Italian restaurant next door. Fairly close to Hockenheim race track.

For me the breakfast start could be a bit earlier at the weekend, but the staff were flexible and so I managed to get breakfast at 7:45 which enabled me to get to Hockenheim in good time.

The room was well equipped (cupboard, table, chairs, double bed) and larger than expected. ThThe bathroom was technically okay, but very small. Breakfast was nice, but their were room was extremely crowded at the time we came.

This is probably because breakfast was offered from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. (on weekends). This time window should be extended. It should be emphasized that everybody from the stuff was super friendly and helpful.

The AC made the sleeping very comfortable along with the nice bed and pillows. Our meal at the restaurant was lovely. They were very helpful and called to make sure we would be able to get in when their desk closed early on Sunday

It is a bit of a walk from the train station, but has easy access off the highway

Great breakfast. Very friendly service. Lea and Michaela prepare everything perfectly. Fresh fruit in jars. Delicious natural yoghurt, cheeses and of course delicious, real forest and blossom honey. Clean, nice and tasty 10/10! :) Very friendly service at the reception 10/10 :)

We were passing through on our way to Budapest and we enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were appealing and clean. Breakfast was plenty and delicious. There is also a restaurant on the premises - unfortunately, it was closed on the night we stayed there but it looked like a lovely place to eat. The staff was welcoming and friendly.

There is nothing to not like.

Cosy, clean and a good selection to choose from - and all presented very nicely.

It was rather busy so there seemed to be a bottle neck coming into the room. However, we all still managed to have a lovely breakast after waiting for the queues to quieten down. The staff were trying hard to keep all the platters full so well done to them all.
