The check-in is done via a keybox if you arrive a bit late in the day - which was simple and quick. Room was huge, with good quality products and good decoration. You are inside the old town, 2 minutes walking from the water, or 5 minutes to the port. Several good restaurants around, and a quite nice breakfast!

The hotel is centrally located on the island Close to the harbour and all amenities. It is spotlessly clean throughout and the rooms are beautifully appointed with quality fixtures. The owners and team are super friendly, helpful and thankfully, in our case, spoke very good englush

Not often I can say this but nothing. I did park in P2 as I stated for a couple of days. It is about a 15 minute walk but cheap E7 / day.

This is a family-owned hotel, the owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, light, bright, and well-appointed. Beds were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was also very large and well-equipped. The breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety. The hotel is next to the old city wall, a short walk to all of the points of interest. Having visited Insel Lindau many times, this will now be our go-to place to stay!

Nothing, everything was perfect!

Owners young couple with baby were so helpful in all our needs. Our laundry was done with such care and such minimal cost. Upgraded to a beautiful room with lots of windows with the sun coming thru. The details to everything in this hotel was truly amazing. Must come here as you will truly love it. 11 out of 10 I will give it. Perfect stay!!! Well done you have a beautiful hotel!!

Honestly could not fault this hotel!!!

A lovely boutique hotel just inside the city wall, which protects against noise, so my room was quiet and I slept well. The public car park is opposite at €15 per night, and the Altstadt is on the doorstep. I was a bit concerned about the unstaffed reception and the automatic room key dispenser, but that worked well and the owner was there anyway.

This is one of finest Inn's I have stayed in all of Europe and the US. , The attention to detail of the staff went over and above what I would have normally expected. The service was excellent and pleasant starting from the owners to the entire staff. In my view the location was perfect and easy to find. It was not in the middle of everything but in our opinion that was very convenient for all needs. The room was very well appointment and spacious with modern amenities. The bathroom was unbelievable with a heated floor and excellent shower. Perhaps the finest shower and bathroom we have had in al our travels through Europe and US, If I could I would have rated this facility a 12+.

Nothing as everything was perfect.

I had an excellent three day stay here alone before the rest of my traveling group arrived. The owners made we feel very comfortable; felt like my family. Enjoyed the breakfast every morning with many choices including eggs cooked anyway you like them. Hotel was very safe, room comfortable and loved the location as it was easy to walk around for the six days I was here. Would highly recommend Hotel Alte Schule.

The keyless check-in system didn't seem to work easily for me so I had to wait awhile for someone to return to unlock the front door when I arrived midafternoon.

The location was excellent, within walking distance to the harbor which was great as we took a cruise around Lake Constance; we also did a walking tour of Lindau, which enabled us to really appreciate the area and the convenient location. The staff were friendly, responsive and helpful (especially when my husband wanted to heat up his dinner from the prior evening!) We had a junior suite with a good-sized bathroom and large shower.

I received detailed instructions some weeks before our trip about how to access the key to the building and our room but by the time we arrived (some 15 days into our trip), I had forgotten! So, we were not able to immediately gain entrance into the hotel. It would have been helpful to have received a reminder with those same instructions a week before the check-in date.

Lovely hotel on the island and just steps from everything. The family that run the business are so kind and helpful, and their toddler daughter is a delight. The rooms are modern and comfortable. We loved having an abudance of plugs in so many places--so rare in an old building. We slept great on the comfy bed.

Our room faced a realty office whose lights were always on, so it was bright, even with the shades drawn. We recommend eye masks and potentially ear plugs for those bothered by noise (it is beside a busy road and park area where there was a fest going on--we sleep with white noise, so the sound didn't bother us).

Our hosts were so accommodating in every way. Spacious room, super comfortable bed, excellent value tasty breakfast. Went out of their way to ensure we got our breakfast before an early train. It was lovely to stay in the old town in the Old School which was immaculately clean. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone staying in Lindau.
