The staff were extremely helpful and were so accommodating. The food was exceptional, with lots of choice. As we were staying for a few nights, it was a great touch having a free travel card to use. We were able to use this to visit Freiburg via train, which was easy and a nice way to get to see the beautiful landscape without the worry of navigating the city with our bikes! We were also able to get a discount using our card when we booked to go to the alpine coaster at Hassenhorn, which was awesome fun!!

There was nothing that we didn't like. If there was anything to say, it would only be the walk-up to the main reception area, but that wasn't a real problem. We certainly did a few steps over the time we stayed!

Location could not have been better for us, bearing in mind the budget price it exceeded our expectations. The patio overlooking the valley and up to the surrounding hills is very good and an ideal place to wile away the hours. But, best of all is the warmth and welcome from the hosts and their staff. They made our stay memorable and I can't recommend them highly enough. Service went beyond exemplary, and always with a smile and good humour.

The suite was very large and comfortable. The view was amazing. The bedrooms, bathrooms, living room and kitchen were well furnished and equipped. The kitchen also had an oven and dishwasher. Everything was super clean. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good.

Very steep entrance and also lots of stairs leading to the reception. The elevator is only from the reception and to the rooms so you need to lift your luggage up the stairs. No A/C in the suite, so in August it could get really hot during the day and also at night.

Excellent family hotel. We took a large family room (there are all so zimmer/small room) - it was lovely and equipped with everything. Don't miss the restaurant in the hotel with the local food (sperribs bbq we're grate). Take a walk in the village... Grate location to tour the surrounding area.

Nice hotel in the black forest. Lot of nature to explore. Dog friendly. Nice room with balcony. Good breakfast. Nice and friendly staff. Good restaurant. Parking for free.

For us all was good, no complaints. When opening window during the night it was a big noisy ... but ... the noise was a small stream passing the hotel ... that is what you surely need to accept when booking a hotel in nature :-)

From the pictures of the hotel you don’t realise how high it is set back from the road. Great view but could be an issue if you struggle to walk. Small area for parking next to hotel but an additional area is available across the road.

Charming family-run hotel in a beautiful, peaceful Black Forest town. The managers & staff are exceedingly warm & friendly. Breakfast and dinner quite good. Rooms comfortable and clean. You can hike up to the Herzoghorn, one of the best views in Germany, from the front door. Definitely recommended!

Staff was very friendly. Even though the rooms have old furniture, rooms were very clean. The breakfast has everything you need. I was surprised about the rather "bad" review on booking.com as I think that despite that old furniture, the hotel itself offers everything you need. Also, the terrace has a good vibe for dinner or to have a few drinks with a view.

Beds could be replaced as they are very old and noisy sometimes. The room had an "old wood" smell. People with disabilities may face problems to reach the entrance of the hotel as it has a steep drive way and several stairs (in the hotel, however, there is an elevator).

Beautiful Room with nice view and terrace. Five minutes walk from the hotsprings and 15 minute car from Feldberg ski station. Nice, affordable restaurant and rich breakfast in the morning.

The location and accommodation were perfect. The breakfast was very good, as was the evening meal. The chap that served us in the evening was happy to chat about what we had been up to in the day. Very accommodating. One of our group was vegetarian and staff facilitated a change in menu for him.

No evening meal on the Wednesday evening as it was the hotel's chosen rest day.
