Beautiful location far from crowds. Room has everything you can get for the price and cleanliness was on point. The view from the restaurant is divine! The small lake was never crowded during our stay and offered perfect stand up paddling and swimming opportunities. The hotel is cosy and clean. Restaurant is excellent as well, food prices may seem high at first but are more than fair for the quality and service. We noticed that dogs are welcome even though we didn’t have one, and families with children seemed to be enjoying too. It’s a family place for sure.

Mosquito nets on the windows can be helpful in the summer.

We had a wonderful stay here! The room is very nice, spacious and clean. The bed is comfortable. The view from the terrace is one of a kind. Breakfast buffet is extensive and dinner is very good. The staff was very friendly. As a cherry on top you can reserve the sauna for free as a guest every day which was the perfect end to every day. We went for a skiing trip, the drive to the ski slope was about 10 minutes. You can also have a super nice walk around the lake across from the hotel. Thanks for having us! We will be pleased to come back.

The location was fantastic, the only property on the shore of the lake, which we walked round before dinner. We saw a red squirrel, and signs of beavers. The hotel was easy to find and ideal for an overnight stay - we were travelling through Germany on our way towards the Alps and heading for Italy. The room, although small, had everything you could need and the bed was very comfortable, the shower worked perfectly and the view of the forest at the back of the property was lovely. It was very quiet and peaceful. We had a very good dinner, with ample portions. Breakfast was very good with a great selection of cold meats, cheese, cereals and coffee, all very tasty and fresh. Parking was easy, right outside the hotel.

Our only complaint and which stops me from awarding this stay a straight 10, was that the man who greeted us at reception was rather surly, so we didn’t get the best impression in our arrival. All the other staff were charming and helpful.

Wow,wow and wow! This was a fantastic hotel and made our much needed holiday very special. The room was super clean and the breakfast was simply heaven with so much choice. The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle, which was ideal. The lake was spectacular not only to wake up every morning but also to swim in as it was so clean. This hotel is perfect for outdoor people who want to be away from it all , but not too far from bigger towns (Titisee and Schluchsee), and they even gave you a bus pass! We ate in the restaurant and everything we chose was delicious but, for us, the portions were too big! You may think it a little expensive but it was cheaper than our first option and was worth every penny. We are definitely going back!

Only very insignificant things which are not really negatives. For us, the room was too hot without any heating on (we went first week of June). When we had dinner the portion sizes were too big, but great if you hadn’t eaten for a day or so!

Of course the lake opposite the hotel is beautiful and a wonderful place to walk around or just sit and enjoy. The breakfast as well as the other food in the location was exceptional. The hotel itself is very modern and has a stylish interior. There is everything you need in your room. The staff was exceptionally friendly, in the hotel Köhlerei am See as well as in the partner hotel.

The street next to the hotel was understandably loud because the weather was amazing during our stay and so there were a lot of people driving up there to go skiing or hiking. There is also a train track behind the hotel. However, we never saw a heard a train, maybe the track is no longer used or isn't used that frequently.

The location is very nice, by a lake. A nice walk around the lake in the morning is a great way to start your day. The room was clean. Beds are comfy. Breakfast was good. Sauna was an amazing treat!

The restaurant could improve wine selection. The room could have a bit more amenities like kettle. Everything is sparkling clean except the mold in the shower cabinet.

Great Tranquille place to stay just in front of the lake. Food and breakfast on the terrace is so peaceful. Great location to explore the Black forest by car or by foot. Restaurant food is of great level....Bravo Chef!

I should have paid more for a lake view room rather than a railway one

Very nice hotel by the lake, perfect location. Free parking. I recommend to everyone.

Not enough staff, especially on busy evenings. It is not easy to catch a waitress and order something. They are super busy all the time, running all over the place.

This is a lovely property right on the lake. The staff were very friendly & helpful & the food in the restaurant was excellent. Parking on site was good. The property is remote so be prepared to park up & enjoy the hospitality.

The room was small, modern and comfortable, bathroom likewise. Breakfast was fresh and good, homemade bread and jam are an extra and the evening meal was very good. The view over looking the lake was an added extra:)
