My parents stayed at Franconia City hotel this April and here is their review: "Our stay at this hotel was simply delightful! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the peaceful atmosphere, spotless cleanliness, and the warm hospitality of the hosts! They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, always ready to offer helpful advice (even with our limited German / English language skills), communication was smooth and pleasant. A special heartfelt thank you for the lovely gift from the owner! It was such a thoughtful and personal touch that made our stay even more unforgettable! Breakfasts were a real treat: a generous and varied buffet with something for everyone, and the staff gladly prepared special dishes upon request. Every morning felt like a little celebration! The location couldn’t be better: right in the heart of the old town, just steps away from all the major sights. Plus, getting to and from the airport was quick and easy, which made everything even more convenient. We truly enjoyed every moment and will wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to all our friends and family. Can’t wait to come back!"

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! From start to finish, my stay was absolutely faultless. The team went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well looked after. A special shoutout to Tim, who was incredibly hospitable – thank you so much for the kebab recommendation; it was spot on and delicious! The room was spotless, with everything I could possibly need already provided. The bed was super comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep after a long day. Breakfast was another highlight – delicious, fresh, and very reasonably priced. Every detail was thought of, and the staff genuinely cared about making my stay perfect. If you're looking for a place that feels like a home away from home, this is it. Can’t wait to return!

We LOVED our stay. The owners made us feel like members of their family. They were attentive but also respectful of privacy. The room was charming and there is great soundproofing so we couldn’t hear other people or any street noise. The location is superb with the historic sausage restaurant just a short block away and other good restaurants close by. The Christmas markets are just a few minutes walk. We have absolutely nothing negative to say as the hotel is perfectly charming.

Everything was perfect. There wasn’t anything we disliked.

The staff go out of their way to help you with your trip - anything from recommendations to placing reservations for you. The breakfast is fresh with nice variety despite the small size of the hotel. The rooms are well appointed with outlets with integrated USB (type A and C), air conditioning (summer only), and an in-room refrigerator. The location is superb - walking distance from the main rail station, 2 minute walk to the metro, and easy access to the downtown shopping and dining.

One of the best quality-price ratio of the hotels I've ever been to! The room has all the facilities, including some nice touches as a shoe horn (a true rarity in hotels in Europe). The location is perfect for exploring the medieval centre, with a nice old franconiam restaurant just around the corner.

The view wasn't spectacular, as the inner yard basically belongs to the firefighters quarters, but I guess it's not a huge disadvantage of you're a fan of those beautiful firefighters' machines:)

I really enjoyed my three night stay at this lovely hotel. The location is great - only 15 mins walk from the main railway station and easy walking distance to all the sites in the old town. Tim and his mother (whose name I unfortunately didn't get) were very friendly and Tim, in particular, was very helpful when I arrived in providing me with recommendations of what to see as well as a couple of very good restaurant suggestions. My room was very comfortable, spacious and nicely furnished, with lots of nice touches - lovely products in the bathroom, a large bottle of complimentary sparkling water, tea/coffee making facilities etc. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever back in Nurnberg.

After spending four nights at a rather impersonal hotel in Berlin, it was a delight to arrive at the Franconia City Hotel. Located within the old walled city, it is an easy 15 minute walk from the Nuremberg train station. We were greeted by the most helpful Tim and Kerstin. Our room was delightful, much more charming, larger and cheaper than in Berlin. Our room was spotless. The bathroom was well lit and sported at great shower with plenty of hot water. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the well appointed dining room. We forgot our phone charger in Berlin and Tim immediately provided us with a loaner. It was just a short walk to two lovely restaurants, both of which we enjoyed very much. It was a short walk to the underground for a trip to the Dokumentation Center out of town and an easy walk to the Memorium Trials Museum. We love the hotel and loved Nuremberg.

The hotel was situated perfectly. The hosts could not have been more attentive and went out of their way to help us when the airline left us with no hand luggage and coats in -6 temperatures. The breakfast was extensive and presented beautifully with no time constraints. The beds were quality, and we slept soundly every night. Access out of hours was easy, and the friendly and warm atmosphere created was something which we will never forget. When our return flights were cancelled 12 hours before we were due to check out, we were offered another nights accommodation. We managed to find new flights, but the offer gave us time to think straight and I can not thank Kirsten enough for making a very stressful situation so much easier for us.

I really can not fault this establishment and the wonderful Kirsten and Tim. We will definitely return for another stay.

The stay was exceptional, beyond all expectations. The welcome was very warm, and I was welcomed as if I were entering a friend's house. The owners, mother and son, gave us all the information about the city by offering us a map. The room was very large, comfortable, well furnished. Very comfortable beds and ideal internal warm temperature. The bathroom with a very large shower. The hotel's location is ideal for visiting the heart of Nuremberg. A lot of opportunities for good food all around. It is located a short walk from the metro stop, but can easily be reached on foot from the station in a few minutes. The breakfast space was very beautifully decorated, with the warm colors of the Christmas period. I didn't have breakfast but the buffet was rich and complete. Thanks for the hospitality!

The hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and gave us lots of recommendations for our trip. The location is around 10 minutes walk from the main square, which made it a fantastic base for the Christmas markets. This hotel has lots of special touches in the rooms and reception which make it feel like a home from home. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.
