I am quite sure the owner, a very nice gentleman, upgraded our stay as it was our 40th anniversary. Very clean and the staff was there to help us with our luggage and they went out of their way to make our stay a real pleasure. The suite overlooked the street that leads into the Christmas market square and something that I appreciated was that the windows opened. All locks and hinges worked as they should. The locks had a solid mechanical sound and you didn’t need to force a hinge. The place was immaculate and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. Out of our 16 day vacation it was by far the nicest hotel we stayed at.

The elevator was a little quirky wen you were going up or down in the elevator and another person pressed a second button it would stop on your floor, the door opened about 15cm and then shut and took you to the other floor that had its button pressed. It could almost be unnerving if it weren’t humorous. But most of the time we would take the stairs.

Lovely historic hotel in the Nuremberg old city. Friendly and helpful staff. Spotlessly clean rooms. Wide variety of breakfast available in a charming breakfast room, which is included in the room tariff. More like a very personal and gracious guest house. My mother and I loved staying here.

The hotel isn't air conditioned, however, we were advised that this is being installed in a few months time. Dyson fans were provided and good breezes flow when room windows are open.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful building, 5 min walk from the Central Train Station. Clean room, comfy bed, lots of space, and fab washroom. Antique furniture and old art to give the place the vibe I like. Friendly, helpful staff. Lots of good restaurants nearby, including Ruff’s burgers - best I’ve ever had, an Irish pub, great for anyone missing an English meal, and Bohm’s Herrenkeller (trad German food) round the corner - best of old and new worlds.

It was on the south end of the old city so it was a bit of a walk to get to the Castle and some of the other sights, but being so close to the train station made up for that.

Lovely hotel. Historic and grand. Perfect central location. Lovely room with double facing windows. Lovely breakfast room. Wonderful service by the gentleman on the reception and also I loved the delicious breakfast served by a wonderful lady called Alma. The attention to detail at breakfast with a wonderful choice of food, so wonderfully presented was a real treat to start off the day. It was very easy to park behind the hotel in a booked space. A very short walk to the hotel. Amazing!

The bathroom was just a tiny bit small, but not that it was a problem for us.

I had a wonderful stay at the Deutscher Kaiser during the Christmas Market. It’s an easy walk from the train station and on the main street of the Old Town. The property’s character added to my experience of this wonderful time of year. I think the proprietor gave me a room upgrade because I stayed for four nights. I went on to Paris, and stayed in a 4-star hotel there. Here’s what the Deutscher Kaiser had that the Paris hotel did not: a refrigerator, robe and slippers, an upholstered chair, a closet with doors, a timed heater in the bathroom, a lighted make-up mirror, and a sink that could be stopped to wash undies. The breakfast was among the best I have had in Europe. I highly recommend this hotel.

As is often the case in older European hotels, the elevator is small and slow, so for someone who cannot climb the lovely, grand staircase, this might be a problem.

Location is close to the railway station and near so many beautiful features of Nurnberg. The staff were helpful and friendly, always greeting us as we arrived back after an outing. Our room was very comfortable and facilities easy to access. The reading room was beautiful, as were so many features of this historic hotel. Delicious, varied breakfast.

Location was right in the town not too far from the train station Room had a fan which was very nice as it was hot Breakfast was very nice hot option too, sausages bacon and eggs along with good selection of cold meat cheeses bread etc Coffee machine in the room with a fridge and minibar german hotels finally catching on

Was a little noisy from the bars etc at night with the windows open but had a fan so could close the window

We were upgraded for free to a 1-bedroom suite that was beautifully decorated, which was very nice. The breakfast was excellent, many choices of food. The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating.

There was no air conditioning. We were provided with a ventilator that used water. We left it on when we went out. When we came back the room was a humid swamp, it was terrible. We turned it off and did not use it again. They did provide us with 2 fans for the very hot weather.

Amazing views in the heart of Nürnberg. Champagne breakfast was a wonderful way to start the day. The suite room is definitely luxury. Lots of great places to dine and drink within footsteps of the hotel. Beautiful charming hotel with exceptional customer service. This was a spontaneous stop over for us. I'm so happy to have stayed here. The bath was big enough for 2. They even provide quality bath salts for you to enjoy your soak. The hotel exudes old world luxury with a dedicated reading room for guests to use. This hotel is filled with charm, character and beautiful antiques throughout every floor. Take the stairs to breakfast to enjoy the old world charm. We'll be back!!

An historic hotel, in a good area to stay. Fabulous breakfast - quality of food was high. All the staff are lovely especially the lady in the breakfast room ( so sorry I don’t know her name). Comfortable bed and lovely bedlinen. Very quiet - did not hear other guests at all. Great windows and can’t hear any outside noise. Nice to have complimentary bottled waters and tea and coffee. Glad we Chose to stay here
