If you’re staying in Nürnberg (an ideal hub city from which to launch day trips in every direction), then take it from a repeat guest: this is your optimal choice of accommodation: five-star quality at a surprisingly reasonable price. This was my second stay at this Sheraton Carlton, and it was every bit as satisfying as my first. The location is note-perfect: right by the main train station, close to top sights such as the Germanisches Nationalmuseum and the Verkehrsmuseum, and with a post office for mailing home souvenir parcels just off to the other side of the Hauptbahnhof. The rooms are immaculately clean, comfortably laid out with cozy carpeting (so much preferable to rock-hard tile or hardwood flooring), spacious, yet boasting all of the amenities that one could ever want, from tea-making facilities and a mini-fridge to a nicely sized balcony. Breakfast here is outstanding, featuring gourmet-quality scrambled eggs, bacon, and the delicious Röstla roasted sausages for which the city is renowned, and which are made better in Nürnberg than in any other city. The lightning-fast laundry service returns clothing the very same day. The wonderfully friendly and courteous staff treat backpacking travellers just as well as they do their upscale clientele. I was even granted an early check in (a rare treat at a German hotel in the summer). The opportunity to bed down again at this heavenly hotel was a determining factor in my decision to return to Nürnberg this year rather than use a different city as a base, and I’m glad that I did; indeed, I hope to return Nürnberg again someday, and when I do, I wouldn’t even dream of staying anywhere else.

Like most German hotels, breakfast doesn’t begin here until 6:30, and while I commend the Sheraton Carlton for maintaining that start time throughout the week rather than pushing it to 7:00 on the weekends (as some properties do), a 6:00 Frühstück launch would be even better. Also, while my room during this trip was larger than the one that had before, I did miss the superior view that I enjoyed last time from the 7th floor. But these quibbles are negligible in the face of the hotel’s countless strengths: it’s the best Nürnberg accommodation choice by far and makes a stay in the city an unadulterated pleasure.

The duvets were two separate singles - one was a good tog with plenty of filling the other had no filling , we requested a replacement and 30 minutes later were brought another empty duvet and told that is all they have in the hotel, we compared it to the other and they said that was as it should be ? And would I be ok with 2 thin ones ? As we were tired I said okay and We asked again at reception the next day and the receptionist agreed the duvets were very poor but there was nothing they could do ? Not acceptable for 5 stars accommodation

The hotel is conveniently located just a few steps away from the city's central railways station in what appeared to be a quiet neighborhood.. The Old Town is at a walking distance (5 minutes). The superior room I booked was spacious and cosy. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast (there's a wide choice to any taste) and the SPA on the 9th floor, where you can have a beautiful view of the city's skyline.

I do not have anything to complain about and I would certainly choose the Sheraton Carlton on my next trip to Nürnberg.

We came for the christmas market and the location was perfect walking distance for my family. The rooms were big and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing especially for us who we have food allergies but there was something for everyone. The location is great to get to walk right into the city, you don't hear street noises or trains from the hotel which I first was worried about. Definetly recommend this hotel for anyone.

The price was high for having to sleep in twin beds as a couple. Wish there was more available, but we made it work and it didn't ruin the stay, we had a great time.

Room was big and comfortable, the breakfast was extensive. The bar was comfortable and a great view from the pool area.

We were in room 106 which meant you had to walk past and through conference groups when coming back after a busy day and very embarrassing when going and coming back from the pool. I would suggest these room should be for conference groups staying. Needs a rethink.

The hotel markets itself with pictures of a rooftop terrace, which was one of the reasons I booked it. I subsequently found out that it is only accessible to people on a loyalty scheme. Seemed a bit disingenuous. Quite close to the railway line so there is some noise if you're on that side and like to keep the windows open.

This place was fancy, the rooms where big, the lobby was grand, the Bar was varied and it was centrally located, with good walking distance from the main train station in the city. I liked that the pool had a changing room attached and that there was no pressure to leave a deposit.

I didn’t have a smart casual outfit and didn’t realise you needed one to dine at the restaurant here.

Warm welcome, very helpful staff, spacious and comfortable room, free water daily, superb bathroom with bath and shower, bath robes and slippers. Breakfast is splendid; more than enough choice, high quality and accompanied by excellent service

A coffee pod machine would be nice, as packets of instant coffee have dispappeared from many hotels now. The TV itself was fine but it would be good to have more than just news channels in English!

The room was roomy enough for three. The view from the balcony near the sauna was fantastic. The breakfast was extraordinary. Vegan options, including frothy soy cappucinos. The ecar hook up at first didn't work. The staff worked tirelessly until it did.

The sauna doesn't open until 2 p.m. So, there's no chance of using the sauna on the day of check out. As we checked in late, and it closes at 9 p.m., we missed out.
