The very best location, right in front of one of the main gates to the old town. We were up on the medieval wall in minutes! Got plenty of exercise traversing the old town via the solid, wooden and stone wall and the beautiful streets below and all for free! Huge room, classically furnished with twin sinks in the en-suite. Fabulous old, wooden staircase. Restaurant across the road serving traditional meals. Free, safe parking behind was much appreciated

As will all German hotels no coffee or tea making facilities that other countries provide. No fridge. Frugal with toiletries. Otherwise a great place to stay.

Perfect location 100m from the city gate, very close to historic centre, nice and cosy room in an old historic house. The owner is very sweet gentleman. The room had a lot of electric sockets (sometimes there is not enough in hotel rooms, but thisone had plenty). Also private parking behind the hotel is a great benefit.

The only thing that could be improved was that our room was in the attic and it was very hot (we visited in June), so adding an air condition or some ventilator would be a great improvement.

The hosts who welcomed us were a really lovely German couple. They seemed to have been running their business for a long time. The location is super convenient, just a minute from the city wall. Actually, we were glad to stay outside the wall rather than inside. Wish we could stay one more night to see the town properly as Rotthrnburg was best place among Romantic Road trip!

We wished we could have had a hot breakfast since we arrived very late and missed having a proper dinner the night before. However, there was plenty of continental-style breakfast on the table, so we were completely full. We’re probably just accustomed to the British style of having an electric kettle in the room, so it would have been nice to have a cup of tea or coffee on our arrival without having to go into town

The location was ideal to walk into Rothenburg and there is free parking onsite, which is great. We did not have much interaction with the host apart from being giving us the key. The apartment was spacious and very clean.

The showerhead holder was very low I had to hold the shower above me to wash my hair, which was a bit awkward. There were 2 steep flights of stairs to get to our room in the attic, no problem for us, but might be a struggle for people with mobility issues or heavy luggage.

The property didn't have a lift, no help was provided in carrying luggage through 2 floors of circular steps, no kettle with tea, coffee was given, slippers and dental kit were not provided, shampoo, hand wash, body wash was not of good quality or brand, breakfast was very expensive, there were no options for lunch or dinner, no personnel present between 6 pm and 7 am, the backdoor remained unlocked during night thus creating a safety issue.

Amazing owner and hotel manager will look after you from the minute you enter the hotel until you leave. Spend some time and talk to this lovely and passionate person. Hotel is right at the medieval Galgentor gate. Short walk to the Market place, centre of the medieval town.

We found all we needed at this lovely hotel. If you are looking for a hotel with all fancy facilities then this is not the place for you. The central location means that there may be some expected noise from the street, but when you shut windows all noise is gone.

Hotel Bezold was so charming and cozy! Our room was spacious, tidy, and warm. The parking was easy to find and there was plenty of space. It was also the perfect location—just outside the old town wall, and a very short walk from everything we wanted to see. We would love to come back!

Room number 16 in the annexe was great. Large room with excellent large bathroom. Great value. Didn’t have breakfast as a little expensive. Owner very friendly and helpful on arrival. Hotel seems to close in the evening with no ability to buy a drink at the bar. Liked the ability to be able to park our car in the rear yard.

Not much really.Would use again, as the room and price were great and the location was only a very short walk in to the old town.

The staff didn’t speak English, so it was a bit of a challenge to figure out that we had to move to a different building the second night. Make sure to bring washcloths if you’re used to having them!

Great location with free parking at the back of the hotel. Super easy to find. Really really lovely people. And if you are missing the comforts of your home shower, this place has a really sensational hot shower with good pressure. Perhaps one of the great German shower experiences in this price bracket. Also room and bathroom were very spacious. Really liked this place

Only minor negative is the curtains are not fully block out. But wear an eye mask and you will be fine, if you do mind the light.
