Great location just outside the old city walls. The room was clean and modern. Breakfast was very nice with a good variety of food. Parking was ample beside the hotel.

There are a lot of stairs but we managed 😊

We did not realize this was a Michelin Star Hotel AND Restaurant! We loved our room at the Alter Ego. There was a common kitchen area with a fun farm table and supplies to make snacks or even a meal if you wanted! We entertained some family for a birthday celebration with appetizers and champagne. The owner [Christian Mittermeiers] and main chef for the restaurant made sure the staff had a bucket with ice for the champagne! Christian also gave us a recommendation for lunch at another Michelin Star restaurant near Fussen which was fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel and order the breakfast as it was spectacular. The location is just outside the walled City perfect to take in all the beauty Rothenburg has to offer. Maria at check in was equally wonderful.

Nothing.

Beautiful, modern hotel with excellent service. Our train from Berlin was delayed, thereby making us late to our rental car booking in Bamberg after-hours. We were stranded there until we figured out alternative travel to Rothenburg. We ended up arriving very late to the hotel and the staff were very accommodating. Beautiful, modern furnishings with very comfortable beds. We had 2 rooms next to each other. Our teenage kids weren't crazy about the open, see-through shower door in their room, but ours was enclosed. Location is excellent right outside the town gate.

Nothing, it was great!

First and above all, there is the reception team (Lady Andrea, Lady Itzel, Mr. Denis, Lady Vera, and Lady Anna). Besides the beautiful facility (building and room-wise) and amazing location, this extraordinary professional team was so attentive, welcoming, cheerful with the best positive energy. From the communication before our arrival, throughout our stay and the unfortunately goodbye, the team was there for us. The location of the hotel is 7min beautiful walk from the Christmas Matket (right in the center) with an attached car park. The hotel is very modern and peaceful attached to the first and main Mittermeiers hotel. The hotel Restaurant serves outstanding dinner with an incredible group of individuals that facilitate the Resturant. Its the first time i saw that every dish comes with a brief acknowledgment of a staff member. The Restaurant

There's NOTHING to dislike

An excellent hotel in a great location. Rooms were comfortable with everything you needed for a good stay and the bed and pillows were fantastic. The honour kitchen was great, well stocked and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the owner even offered to take a group photo at the end of our stay. Location was close to the old town without being in the hustle and bustle of the crowd which made it much easier accessing by car and free on-site parking was very much appreciated. We cannot rate this hotel highly enough, it was excellent!.

Our group of 4 cannot think of anything we didn't like.

The communal facilities were excellent, from the quality coffee machine (Moccamaster) to the trust bar stocked with local wine and snacks at great prices. Every detail felt stylish, thoughtful, and premium. The rooms were trendy, with exposed brickwork and a very comfortable bed. The TV setup worked perfectly (we used our Netflix easily). The hotel’s location is ideal, with safe, convenient paid parking right out front and easy access to the town. The staff were also really friendly and kindly reduced the dog fee for our small dog because of his size, which was a lovely touch.

The air conditioning in our room wasn’t very effective, it never reached a comfortable temperature and infact didn't feel like it was blowing cold air, which was disappointing given how good everything else was. Although the windows are well soundproofed, we had to leave them open due to the heat, and traffic noise disturbed our sleep. Also, the bathroom door is made of glass and doesn’t offer much privacy, so you’ll need to be very comfortable with whoever you’re staying with.

The Location of the hotel is excellent - right next to the town wall - Rothenburg is very beautiful. Parking is easy and well laid out. The staff are very friendly and welcoming but the very best is the excellent breakfast which is taken in the hotel 2 doors away. The wide variety of very fresh, local produce and freshly cooked choices were superb. The best tea we had during our travels in Germany - everything was well thought through and beautifully served. Parent hotel has Michelin starred restaurant - we didn't managed to try on this visit but hope to return.

Not a massive fan of glass door to loo (frosted) and shower but we booked an extra night so wasn't a problem.

This property is next to and clearly a modern addition to the main hotel. As such the decor is sharp, contemporary, well appointed and clean. Bed was large and comfortable. Wifi and A/C worked well. At ground level is a guest area which allows cooking, coffee making and has a basic snacks on an honesty box basis. The hotel is 2 minutes from Rothenburg city wall and main gate. The staff were very friendly, helpful and always smiled

Nothing of any significance. There is no lift which didn't hinder us but may be an issue for some.

Buffet breakfast with choice of eggs. Buffet had a wide range to choose from. Room very comfortable and air conditioning promotes a comfortable nights sleep. Staff very friendly and efficient. Parking available but at extra cost to room.

As seems common in some countries - no tea or coffee making facilities in room, but there was a nicely done communal area for making such drinks. Leaf tea and teapots available but no tea bags.

We had a fabulous room on the top floor. Contemporary, roomy and so comfortable. Bed outstanding. Kitchen on ground floor to prepare food if you want and free tea and coffee. Some really lovely touches. A special place to stay. We loved it. Good safe parking in front of the property and the historic centre of the town is just two minutes walk away.

Maybe an age thing on our part, but we found check in a little confusing as you have to check in at a nearby property. Maybe this could be made a little clearer. It was a minor thing, so no worries.
