Can't recommend this hotel enough. It's a gem in many ways, but mostly because it's truly a family-run hotel in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The staff are so incredibly efficient, warm and knowledgeable, the location is fantastic, and our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and the coffee was lovely (believe me, a lot of hotel coffee is NOT in Germany!) There was a really great selection of foods at breakfast. We really loved the local pear juice, and the owner was kind enough to write down where we could buy it on our way out of town - and so we stocked up! We were delighted to be offered a bottle of water each when we checked out (the temperatures were very high) - just another kindness from the hotel team! We really appreciated the hotel garage (a bargain at 20 euros per 24hrs) as Rothenburg has strict pedestrian-only areas and reduced traffic timings in the centre that can be tricky to navigate! The secure garage is just behind the hotel, but crucially, its entrance is out with the pedestrian-only part! Rothenburg OD Tauber is phenomenally busy and touristy, but this hotel allows you a bit of respite from that side, which is lovely. Be sure to look left, and up to the top of the entrance gate tower there to see the Crane nest each time you come and go from the hotel - wonderful!

Honestly - no complaints whatsoever!

The location of the hotel was excellent, being very close to the main market square. All staff we encountered were super friendly. The parking garage was a huge plus given the limits on vehicles in the old town. The room was modern and very comfortable. And even given the location right on a main thoroughfare in town, we found the hotel to be very quiet after 5 p.m. once most of the day-trippers had left. I appreciated the little touches like the table reserved for us in the dining room and the excellent German breakfast on both days we were in Rothenburg o.d.T. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit.

The hotel was lovely. We rented a quadruple room for our family and it was so nice. We had two bedrooms, a very large bathroom, and a sitting area. The hotel itself is so charming. Thoughtful decorating is displayed throughout. Breakfast was included and was the best we had while in Europe! The table was preset for each guest or family which I thought was an extra special touch. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive to every need.

The only way to access is on foot because it’s in a pedestrian zone.

Rooms well furnished, very nice breakfast and atmosphere, quiet, clean and cozy, good mattress, appropriate storage places, Excellent location (in the centre and with parking very close to the hotel, albet it may be slightly challenging when travelling with heavy luggage, since it takes an inclined cobbled street from the hotel to the parking).

Water heavily leaking from the shower (almost flooding). Lack of a clear descrption for the parking in the booking system, which requires more drivng and navigating tiny streets. Poor pillows.

Great location. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Comfy beds. Secure parking close to the hotel (available for a fee). Standard room amenities included. Hot water with good pressure. Good breakfast with a quaint seating area.

No elevator. Vehicle parking logistics is a little involved. Didn't realize ahead of time that the reception closes at 9 PM - be sure to indicate your check-in time when you book so they can accommodate accordingly.

Perfect quiet location, very close to the main streets, bars, restaurants, shops and attractions. Excellent driving instructions provided by innkeeper. Great breakfast in a very nice dining area. The owner is helpful, friendly and humorous. If you have a car, the private parking garage for 30 euros per day is well worth it. (Trying to find a parking spot in Rothenburg would be very difficult.) The town is great, full of fun features. It is a simple, mostly flat walk from this hotel to all attractions. The entire facility... room, restaurant and lobby area are very clean. Small bar provides evening drinks.

Small shower with fluctuating water temperature. We were on top floor with no elevator... but no big deal. I highly recommend this great little hotel.

We spent a week at this hotel during the Christmas season. The location to the markets could not have been any closer. Our room was very nice, not too big and not too small. The breakfast was a very nice addition and kept us full until dinner time. The owners are delightful and very happy to have Americans stay as their guests. It gets busy during the day with the tourist buses but, when they leave, you will have the town to yourself. It's very calm and peaceful.

Our family was very satisfied. It was located in the center of Rothenburg, and since it was run by a family, they were friendly and the service was good. As for the service, I was able to eat apples at any time, and the courtesy of providing each person with a bottle of cool water upon check-out was nice. In addition, even though it is located in the city center, there is a separate parking lot, so the parking problem was easily resolved (however, you need to check this when you arrive at the hotel). It was a good memory of the beautiful city of Rothenburg. It was a city and hotel that I would want to visit again next time. thanks, And here's the important thing. The faces of the people having dinner at the SONNE Hotel looked very bright and in a good mood. I found this hotel to be very good at cooking. I recommend eating at the SONNE Hotel.

everything was satisfactory There is no parking at the hotel. The hotel's private parking lot is located in the blue building at the corner of the square. You must be fully aware of these benefits. After entering the hotel on Google Maps, you will arrive at the parking lot entrance. It's a bit of a hassle to have to park there, go to the hotel, and ask for the password.

The entire staff was amazing. We met the owners and their daughter and just really amazing people. They also have a great glass art collection that is really worth seeing. I can't say enough about the hotel and staff.

One is to give better driving directions on how to get to the hotel when traveling by car. There are so many one way and dead-end streets that it makes it very hard to get to the hotel.

Even before arriving at the Hotel Sonne, the manager communicated with me as I have some medical issues, and he made accommodations to assist my wife and I. The Hotel is right in the middle of everything. The restaurant is wonderful for breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you have a car, the garage is right around the corner and very easy to get to. All the staff is super friendly and helpful. 5 stars service

The only thing I didn't like was I didn't plan more time in Rothenburg.
