This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, making it an ideal choice for exploring the charming old city. Parking was conveniently just 100 meters away, so we had no worries about where to leave our car. The hotel itself exudes traditional charm, offering a warm and spacious room that made our stay truly comfortable. The WiFi connection was excellent, and the breakfast was a delightful experience, featuring a rich selection of delicious local products. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, ensuring a wonderful and memorable stay. Highly recommended!

There was absolutely nothing to dislike! It was the perfect choice for a short stay in the area.

The hotel is gorgeous and very elegant. Breakfast included many items to choose from -- hot/cold options, meats, cheeses, several varieties of bread, yogurt, fruit, veggies. The location was excellent, inside the town walls making it convenient to explore the city on foot. We appreciated the secure parking lot. Each of our 3 rooms was spacious and unique in its furnishings.

Both the elevator and air conditioning were out during out stay and temps were very hot. To complicate things, Rothenburg has bats, so leaving the windows open at night was not an option. I had selected this hotel specifically because of these 2 amenities. While the lack of AC made our stay a little uncomfortable, I would still stay here again. The lady at the front desk was very apologetic and frustrated at the situation. She provided us with fans for all 3 rooms.

The service was absolutely outstanding – truly top-level hospitality. Every corner of the hotel is filled with rich history, and being there makes you feel like royalty. Our room was incredibly spacious – we could have danced inside – and it even had a bathtub, which is rare to find nowadays. The bed was large and high, providing excellent comfort. Breakfast was perfect, with a wide variety of options, and the internet connection was fast and reliable. Parking is located just a few meters from the hotel, and you can comfortably drive up to the entrance to unload your luggage before leaving the vehicle in the parking area – very convenient for travelers.

Too short stay

The location was out of a story book. Being able to park the car in their private, spacious lot so close to the hotel & then walk to everything was fabulous. The hotel itself was a gem, nearly frozen in time. You could imagine Downtown Abbey-like swarays in the huge first floor hall, and men in coats smoking cigars in the front drawing rooms. Very kind & helpful staff. Coffee machine (latte? Cappuccino? Whatever you'd like) HUGE Nutella dispenser. :) We had a very spacious room, 101, which juts out a bit towards the valley as it has a grand half circle windowed "inside balcony." With windows open, a beautiful breeze, birdsong and prime sunset spot, we could not have done better. It was so relaxing. PS- this room also has AC.

The only thing (and it's a very small thing) was the tacky "crown-birdcage-wooden cut out painted bird sitting on fake moss" decoration on EVERY window sill in an otherwise sophisticated, stunning breakfast room. What was someone thinking? OK, one last thing. The room keys are like carrying around bricks. Too heavy.

We were delighted with our stay here. We had selected a "Valley View" room and were astounded at how pretty the view was. It also offered a huge and sunny balcony where were could dry a bit of laundry, which was very well timed in our journey. It was a warm evening, so we appreciated being able to get a breeze from the balcony as well. The breakfast in the blue room (also with a valley view) was really good as well. The hotel's location was very central and therefore walkable to everything we wanted to see, including the Medieval Crime Museum and many restaurants and shops. We loved that it also had a car park, since we were driving this portion of the Romantic Road.

The hotel was nice and historic! It was in the heart of Rothenberg very near the square. The rooms were nice with his/her sinks, the breakfast was really good, and the views were incredible. There was a game room with pool, fuzz ball and air hockey, along with several other public rooms with board games and couches to hang out.

Parking was not free and they had run out of their spaces when we arrived, so we had to park in a public lot. The public lot was free for the night until 9 am and the hotel did let us move to their lot the next morning after others had checked out for a few hours while we explored the town.

This beautiful hotel is very old and located in the centre of beautiful Rothenburg. Steeped in history, it is very atmospheric and tastefully furnished with old and charming furniture and offers breathtaking views of the valley from some of the rooms. Our room was very spacious with a comfortable wooden bed. We especially enjoyed the amazing breakfast buffet, which is served in the most beautiful dining room called the Blue Terrace overlooking the valley. Parking is offered but about 50 Metres away.

We think a small fridge should be in each room. Not having a working elevator, (because of its age) it can be very difficult getting luggage up many flights of stairs.

Staff was very friendly and helpful upon arrival and throughout our stay. The location is 5 mins away from the town hall and market square. After our activities, we were able to go into the game room and play a bit. (the hotel has a free-of-charge game room with snooker, darts and air hockey). The day of our departure the staff kindly placed a birthday letter for my girlfriend and prepared the whole breakfast table for us. The room was spacious and beds comfy. Great value for money.

Only disadvantage is that check in is allowed from 4pm onwards. A bit later than at other hotels. But then again we could park the car and start our visit of the city and check in when the time is right.

I absolutely loved the location, especially the breakfast area, which offers a breathtaking view—truly the most magical setting. While the food was decent, there’s definitely room for improvement. That said, the overall experience was delightful.

What I didn’t like was how cold my room was; I’m not sure if the heater was functioning properly. I really wish the staff had been more attentive and empathetic in ensuring the room was at a comfortable temperature for their guests.

This hotel was beautiful! It was perfectly located inside of historic Rothenburg, a very convenient walk to everything! The hotel had lots of charm, with lots of areas to gather with groups including a game room (perfect for the kids!), downstairs, and upstairs sitting areas. The breakfast was very nice and had lots of options. The staff was VERY friendly and accommodating! The rooms, while beautifully decorated and full of character, had beds that were not very comfortable. Not all rooms have AC, so be sure to book one with it if desired. Another huge bonus for this hotel is a hotel only parking lot for eleven euros per night, which made traveling to the hotel via car very easy. Overall, this was a wonderful hotel and a great experience! Worth the stay- just not the most comfortable beds!
