This is a beautifully restored building with so much charm! We were given a huge 2 level room on the 3 floor with incredible views of the city. It was up 3 flights of stairs so travel lightly (however the gentleman checking us in kindly carried our luggage up for us). The bed was very comfortable and in a bedroom just above the lounging area with nice windows that opened for ventilation. They would also take your car and park it several blocks away for you at $10 a night. A wonderful breakfast was provided on the main floor. It was so fun to stay in the ancient historic building and the price was extremely reasonable. We loved it!

I stayed in the apartment that is connected to the hotel, but is down the street from it (which wasn't clear through Booking.com) and is a mild inconvenience, but it worked out fine. The private apartment more than made up for it -- sparkling clean, nice amenities, very comfortable bed, quality linens and towels. The included breakfast (in the hotel building) is lovely, an actual table service breakfast and the made-to-order food was fresh and delicious -- especially the eggs and bacon! The staff is kind and caretaking. There are nice bonuses included, such as a welcome drink, bottled water in the room and handmade truffles as a parting gift. I traveled around Germany for two weeks and this was the nicest hotel I stayed in. The hotel and apartment are both centrally located, right off the main square.

It didn't really bother me, but there is a big step down into the bathroom.

The location within the town was perfect! Just down from the main square, access to all the shops, dining and a short walk to the wall. Our stay we in room #1 and it was exactly what we were looking for. This room has 3 windows looking down onto the street and the church across from it. The wood beams just set it off perfectly... "A throwback in time" I truly recommend this room! The breakfast was very good. The staff and management we're great from the time we arrived. First we were given a choice of a beverage and my lady had a glass of wine and I a beer. We a great place to stay at.

The only thing we wish was the back garden area was more freshened up for being early fall to sit in. It looks like it could be a beautiful place to lounge in.

A very charming heritage hotel, all the staff made us feel very welcomed. Room is a good size, very warm and cosy, did not feel cold even though the temp outside feels like sub zero. The staff parked our car for us. Breakfast was wonderful, a wholesome spread of choices for everyone, freshly baked bread basket, smoked salmon with cheese cream, caprese salad, fruit salad, fresh juices and smoothies and eggs of our choice, all made on the spot. Merve attended to us and paid very good attention to details which we really appreciated. Her warm and friendly service just made our day. The hotel is a 7 mins walk from Plonlein, and few mins walk from the Market place.

The lighting in the room is quite dim, but nothing serious.

Staying in the first week of June 2025 at Hotel Herrnschlösschen for 2 and a half days was an amazing experience for my wife and I and our 17 year old son, we were happy to see the expectations that we had while selecting the hotel, were not only met but exceeded. Hotel Herrnschlösschen is located in the centre of the old town with walking distance to all areas to see with quaint shops and many good restaurants in the old town of Rothenburg. Phillip welcomed us and checked us inn who also manages the hotel chic restaurant and helped take all our luggage upstairs. phillip had a very likeable personality and knows hospitality. We booked the Senior Suite and were allocated Suite No 7 on the third floor (made like a duplex suite with one bed up the stairs within the suite. This suite is on the 3rd floor and was beautifully decorated and comfortable and with an excellent layout and Shower / bathroom and all amenities. It has a French balcony which is above the front entrance of the hotel and as having a proper seated balcony was one of our requirements, we were given the option to move to the 1st floor Suite No 3 similar type suite which became available the next day which we found better for us as it has a balcony over looking the beautiful garden and a rear garden view and the bathroom and shower are separate with a bath and and stand in shower as well. The ‘GARDEN’ was the highlight for us as we spent hours in the morning and late evenings enjoying the weather and the serene environment the Owner / Hotel Managemnet have created for guests. Even though it was really 02 nights but the place does have an impactful aura as you feel part of a different time. Another great experience happening in the old town was the draught festival that was going on for the two nights we were there with people dressed up in costumes and performing different types of acts that were uniquely pleasing to see.

This hotel was a remarkable choice for our accommodation. The breakfast setting is nothing short of breathtaking. The location is exceptionally convenient, situated just steps away from a vibrant market, restaurants, and shops. The hotel itself is charming, radiating a historic ambiance that transported us to a different time. However, it is crucial to note that the absence of elevators may pose challenges for individuals who require wheelchair access. Nevertheless, the overall experience was so lovely.

This was a wonderful Hotel to stay in within the Rothenburg Aldstat. The staff was responsive to questions, extremely friendly, and kind. The location was perfect and well within walking distance to all the sights within the town walls. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and I was very happy I could open the windows! The minibar was included, as was the breakfast - the croissants were delicious, the sausages, eggs, smoothie, fruit bowl, smoked salmon and more, was much more than I had expected to be included.

I didn't like that I only had one night booked to stay here due to our travels... Would have loved to spend so much more time here!

Amazing location!! Friendly Staff!! Excellent breakfast!!

The only minor thing that bothered me was that the room I stayed in had stairs leading to the bed, with the bathroom staying below. That kind of scared me a little bit, specially during the night. But the room was huge and beautiful, with a wonderful bed.

It was an extremely charming apartment with everything we needed. The shower was tiny, so it wouldn't be good for large people. The room was big and beautiful. It was warm and cosy in cold days. I wonder what it is like in summer, though. The location was absolutely central. It was lovely. We went to the main hotel for breakfast and the restaurant was beautiful. Sven was very attentive and we had a great chat. Thank you, Sven. Every morning, we had warm croissants and a variety of delicious rolls, perfectly cooked eggs with crispy bacon, an assortment of cheese and fruit with a pot of coffee. Everything was very carefully prepared and beautifully presented.

Our apartment room was perfectly located in a quiet street just off the main square. The apartment was beautifully presently, very clean, quiet and had all the facilities you could want. The host, Sven, was really friendly and helpful. We arrived early, our room was ready and Sven happily checked us in. Sven also told us about a German Christmas tradition happening the next night, and made sure we were included. The breakfast was good and dinner in the restaurant was outstanding. We could not have asked for more.
