1 or 2 minute walk from train station - wonderfully convenient - but still in a very charming, quiet setting with a nice outdoor seating area/garden. At the same time, only steps away from the “Old City” area of Villingen with medieval buildings; nice restaurants in the immediately surrounding neighborhood (recommend: Hacienda Mexicana). Room immaculately clean and very comfortable, great renovated bathroom, comfortable bed, TV… really terrific breakfast, ordered the night before and including as much or as little as you like, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, cheese, salami, ham, wurst, brown bread, rolls, muesli, Nutella, jam, fresh butter, etc., etc. — coffee and espresso really good. The two women who run the place, Brigitte and Dorothy, are super-friendly and a delight to be around… Villa8 a wonderful surprise, relaxed, charming, clean and so convenient — a Winner!!!

A highlight of our recent visit to Europe was our stay at the charming Hotel8 in the village of Villigen. All we can share are positive stories about our accommodations and our host, Bridgitte. Our travel to Villigen from Chicago via Zurich was perfectly completed with our stay at Hotel8. Weary after 12 hours of planes and trains, we were grateful for its location directly across from Villigen’s train station. But we were even more pleased with how comfortable and well-appointed our room was at Hotel8, and how easily we could get inside the walls of Villigen to explore the city. There are few places we have stayed in our travels that have both the location and room quality of Hotel8. Host Bridgitte was very responsive to our needs and questions, and worked well beyond our hopes in assisting us when our travel plans were affected by recent adverse weather. We are highly recommending Hotel8 to travelers looking for comfort, value and convenience. This is a rare find.

Wonderful staff and owner, nice breakfast, and clean and comfortable rooms. Our rooms were quiet. Great location in Villingen for train and buses, and 2 min walk to enter the Altstadt. Cap Markt for groceries and Müller for toiletries, personal needs, plus other shops and restaurants all close-by.

The breakfast is so excellent and the clerks are soooooooo kind!I love them!I was been assign the room with inner balcony and the night veiw is wonderful!!!

It should be much better equipped in warm summers..at least a fan in the rooms! Since the location is right across from the railway station, it's not possible to sleep with the window open. The check in/check out time is very weird and impractical! This should definitely be improved

very nice building, the receptionist was very funny and nice and the breakfast was amazing - except for the fruit salad, that outstanding :-)
