The hotel felt like a little oasis! The rooms were lovely, beds comfortable, and the pools were gorgeous, with lots of little tucked away areas to relax! The food was great, a lovely breakfast and we ordered from the pool menu and ate at the restaurant for dinner too - all very tasty! The staff deserve a special mention - they made our stay, especially Angelika and Mannos (sorry for the poor spelling!)

The showers in I think all of our rooms flooded the bathrooms, and the charge if you wanted to have a clean beach towel

The hotel is absolutely perfect. There are too many things we liked about it but I will try and list some of the things. The friendly staff made our stay unforgettable. I didn’t get all of their names unfortunately but Angela stood out due to her happy & bubbly personality - she always has a smile on her face. All of the staff are so nice, very welcoming and accommodating. The hotel also has 2 swimming pools (one being the quiet pool which was so peaceful & relaxing!). The food at the hotel was delicious & the beach/restaurants (so many restaurants to choose from) are only a 5 minute walk away!! The bus stop is right outside so you can get a bus into the city. Lastly, the room was so homely, clean & comfortable. The list is honestly endless. We loved our stay. We will definitely be back & I would recommend this hotel to everyone!!

This a beautiful cosy resort with gorgeous landscaping and pool areas. The service personel is outstanding and we were very impressed with the restaurant (menu, food quality, service etc.) both at dinner and breakfast. We were only there for one night, but would have liked to stay longer to truly enjoy the amenities.

The maisonette we had was lovely and had ample space, including a great veranda. The only issue we had was the fact the bedroom is a loft on the second floor, whereas the washroom is at the entrance on the main floor and the stairs are quite narrow and steep, which is awqward to navigate in the middle of the night and when it is time to shower and get dressed.

Staff was extremely kind and helpful, always available to help - whether it was about getting a taxi, borrowing a steam iron or e-bike renting options. The view was also amazing and the room had everything we needed.

The room could've been a bit bigger as it was not always comfortable to walk around the tiny space between the wall and the bed (where my suitcase also was) And the bathroom extractor fan was also a bit loud inside and outside the room too.

We stayed at Irida for 4 days in September 2024 and we are very pleased with our choice! Our room was clean and modern and the balcony view was fantastic. The common areas, especially the pool and pool bar, were top-notch and provided a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. I don't know where to start, this is an amazing hotel. The room itself was very spacious, with a sea view, a large bathroom, comfortable beds, balcony and a fully equipped kitchen. The hotel is styled very nicely and there are 2 pools and plenty of spaces to relax. The food in the restaurant is delicious though lacking a bit of choice and the cocktails were just amazing. I cannot emphasise how good the staff is, the 2 receptionists were very helpful and made us feel welcome (and we got a room upgrade), everybody was very kind and going out of their way, a special thanks to Chronos who was very nice and generous throughout the whole stay! I cannot recommend this place enough.

There is nothing about the hotel itself, however bear in mind that being there without a car, you will have to rely on the buses which are not very reliable.

The hotel is newly redesigned and it is truly beautiful. Rooms are elegant and comfortable. While the village where the hotel is located is not particularly pretty, the bay view from the hotel is quite nice. Staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. Was great to have two pools, one of which was quiet zone. The hotel has a very convenient app for managing every aspect of your stay.

Breakfast - the least likeable part of the stay. Not very varied. Average quality, just not matching the overall high standard of the hotel. Sometimes the music at the "non-quiet" pool was too loud.

The location was perfect and the staff were so friendly and hospitable. The food was great and the pool was perfect.

A few minor finish problems like loose panel in the bathroom and noisy fan. The furniture in the room and balcony could be more comfortable and some areas could do with more shade. These are minor points though.

Very small but still, if you stay, like us, for 5 nights you don’t expect to receive only 2 complimentary coffee capsules and have to pay for the rest and the same with the pool towels, you have to pay in order to get fresh ones.

Overall we had a very good stay at Irida, the location and surrounding at the hotel is enjoyable to stay at. The hotel rooms were recently renovated, spacious and comfortable, at least the room we had booked and been assigned to (#23 and #28). Very good bed mattress and pillows. The seaview from the elevated rooms as a bonus is fantastic and very beautiful, especially sunrise view is breathtaking. The hotel offers free parking, ideal as a base for several excursions to Knossos, Heraklion, ... The front desk manager and the hotel manager were very accessible for all kinds of questions/issues and very helpful. The female staff at breakfast and by the pool were very friendly and outstanding. The male staff at breakfast appeared to me to be a bit 'moody' and not so customer service orientated as the female staff, at some point even a little bit unmotivated (= personal subjective observation). Breakfast quality was excellent and variety more than sufficient to us, more in particular we loved the fresh bread, freshly boiled & fried eggs and the fresh orange juice.

Given the 4-star rating, the relative high-end price per room per night, below some suggestions (low cost) to increase guest experience and overall satisfaction: - upgrade coffee quality at breakfast, nespresso machine already available - Crete and Greece are synonymous for excellent delicious olive oil; strangely at Irida you have to ask for olive oil if you'd like to add olive oil on salads, omelette, bread, etc. Make olive oil 'freely' available for use at breakfast. - consider to refill the coffee capsules daily, at least start with the superior guest rooms and suites etc if not for all rooms - provide body lotion and slippers in-room, globally a standard for many 4-star hotels
