We had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel, thanks to the extremely friendly and welcoming staff at the reception. They greeted us with a smile upon arrival and even surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade, a gesture we truly appreciated! Breakfast was satisfying and well-prepared, offering everything you need to start the day with energy. What stood out the most was the dedication of the kitchen and dining room staff. These hard working ladies ensured that everything was clean, well-stocked, and that guests were comfortable and well taken care of. Their attention to detail and quick response to refilling items did not go unnoticed. The hotel itself is very convenient and traveler-friendly, equipped with essentials like air conditioning, hair dryer, soap, fresh towels, and daily housekeeping. The cleaning staff did an excellent job: our room was always tidy, the bed neatly made, and fresh towels were provided daily. We felt cared for and appreciated the cleanliness! One minor downside was the absence of an electric kettle in the room, as we enjoy having tea before bed. However, when we asked the reception for help, a lovely young lady with a warm smile promptly brought us hot water and cups, her kindness made our night!

The only real challenge was the location. The hotel is a bit far from the city center, requiring a bus ride or a 12-minute walk from the nearest metro station and then about 4 stops on the metro to reach the city center... Despite this, the exceptional service and care we received made our stay truly enjoyable. Thank you again to all the wonderful staff for making us feel so welcome!

The room was quite large considering the hotel's price range. It was clean and well-organized, with daily housekeeping that was very thorough. The staff was very helpful and assisted us with everything, including recommendations for tours in the city.

The breakfast was a bit disappointing. I expected a wider variety of vegetables and traditional Greek breakfast items, but all that was offered were slices of bread, cold cuts, cheese, and hard-boiled eggs. The street was less pleasant in the evening and quite far from the tourist area, requiring bus or metro transportation to reach the main attractions.

Location was good with bus and metro options to the city center. Breakfast is reasonable okay. Room was comfortable... wifi internet would be better...

Bath cabin... it has to be repaired with glass or similar... they found a solution with curtain but it doesnt work well and not easy to have shower and the water goes out on the floor.

For me - as a simple place to put lagedge and a sleep over, it is perfect, my room was clean, air conditioned, great bathroom with hot water, very dull symple breakfast, friendly stuff that try to help for a turist. it is located in 'kind of main street' but - and that's an issue - a bit far from the center - Omonia etc'. that means 2 things - the street at night is noisy of traffic - not fun, but i got used to it. 2nd thing - to get to the center you to take a bus (7 min ride, 24/7 - very good and simple way) or take a cab, - or - walk down the street and have fun from the city around (recommended) That said - location is not the hotels fault, the traffic also, so if its not a big deal for you, it wouldnt be a problem As for the pricing - for me it was aligned with my expectations very well - so- i will return to this nice & friendly hotel :)

only 1 thing - I'd love to have some fresh cold water at the lobby

This is the 4th time I've stayed at Athens City Hotel, both alone and with family. The front desk people have always been exceptionally helpful. The rooms are comfortable, the AC works well, the bathrooms and showers have been between good and great, and the breakfast is just right (and good coffee!). The area is very convenient to the famous tourist destinations, but they do take a bit of walking to get to. I found public transprtation quite easy to use and very convenient. The hotel is located in a mixed residential and business area, which we enjoyed.

No complaints.

Accomodation was nice, with good location close to metro stop, bus stop, also there were lot of mini supermarkets on that street. Neighbourhood is safe, staff was nice, breakfast was simple but good, bathroom was clean and very spacious.

Only disadvantage was the fact, that hotel is situated on very busy street, even in the night lot of traffic could be heard, I just used my earplugs, but I guess the rooms which aren't to street side could be less noisier.

The room had ample space and amenities, the shower was big and the water hot. A small refrigerator was in the room and the overall layout of the room easily accommodated 2 adults and 2 little ones. We were very impressed. Staff were available 24hrs and friendly.

Elevator was small. And I didn't understand the TV although the remote may of just had flat batteries.

Spacious room for family with 1 teenager and 1 adult son. Out a bit from city, approx 10 euro Uber to acropolis but very safe area and great value for money.

Only stayed 2 nights but room not touched by cleaner. Breakfast basic but fresh.

Ten minute walk from two metro stations. Supermarket and self service laundry both literally a one minute walk away. Breakfast included. Room had a balcony with table and chairs. Reception staff all very professional and friendly.

Cleaning staff entered my room despite me having the "do not disturb" sign on the door, however this only happened once in my 8 day stay so it wasn't a repeat issue.

I had requested a quiet room and the hotel gave me a fantastic room at the rear of the hotel on a high floor-there was absolutely no traffic noise and no noise from other rooms The room size was generous-it felt spacious and airy as did the bathroom which was much bigger than most hotels in this price bracket. The mattress was excellent-really firm and comfortable, the pillows were good, the bedlinen good quality, soft and very clean, and there was even a light weight duvet which was very welcome as the weather was cool and rainy on that day The breakfast was simple but ample The staff were wonderful. They were polite, welcoming and thoughtful. I had to leave my bags at the hotel for a few hours on the next day and then needed to resort them when I came back to collect them-they gave me a space to do this and offered me ice cold water-its the little things that make the difference!

The location isn't the very best in terms of not being right in the middle of the city centre BUT it is literally just outside the very heart of the city-there are buses running outside the hotel, and the metro station is around a 10-15 minute max walk away-once you have done it once it is very easy to find.
