I stayed at the Athinais for 14 nights and used it as a base when I went to the islands for a couple of days. The hotel is well run and my room attendant Dina was a star. She saw I had wet washing hanging in my room and she made me a rope washing line with pegs on my balcony. It is 2 metro stops from syntagma but I found the location to be perfect. It was not as busy and was only a walk away from great restaurants in kolonaki, national gallery, benaki museum, Cycladic museum, lycabettus hill, Aristotle’s Lyceum.

Staff at reception and on the breakfast area are the nicest and helpful people we ever met !! Nice comfortable beds , fridge and every second day clean sheets and everyday towels is exceptionally rare to find such a good service !! Next to metro station 700m walking distance and near Mavilis Square a vibrant area of Athens with lots of options for cafeterias, bar and souvlaki , street food , groceries shops etc

WiFi is not best .. we were staying at 6th floor and nearly we had 1 line for WiFi.. needs improvement. Apart from it, nothing else

Nicely presented medium-sized hotel in a pleasant area of the city. Beds were comfortable, reasonable amount of storage. Good spread at breakfast, not too busy. Ate very good meal in the restaurant, but there was also a good pizza restaurant in the square nearby, some bakeries and a couple of good supermarkets within a short walk. The staff were excellent in every respect. Our room was cleaned well each day and on one occasion I had left some socks to dry on the balcony railing...and came back to find them pegged to a makeshift clothes line!

The bathroom was a little cramped, and the shower pressure was a bit low.

The hotel had everything we needed. The breakfast offered a good range and good quality of food. It was nice having a bar in the hotel and a restaurant/bistro for food including room service. The gym was an added bonus. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We had an early trip one day and they arranged breakfast bags for us as we needed to leave before breakfast service begin.

A little out of the centre but the metro is less than 10 mins away and we did walk back one day from the Acropolis/Planka which took about 50 mins.

This is an excellent place to stay if you need to be near the local conference center (Megaron Athens International Conference Centre)! It is clean and comfortable, the staff are attentive, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. The breakfast served included a nice variety of what appeared to be fresh, local, and authentic foods (delicious) including fresh-squeezed orange juice (the best!). The room had everything I needed it was only ~5 minutes from the conference center by foot. There are many nearby local restaurants to visit and is also close to the the metro if needed. Overall, a great stay!

What not to like?! The hotel is located on the route of the airport-Syntagma Square bus (X95) with a stop about 50 meters from the hotel. Syntagma Square is within reach by foot from the hotel and, from there, most of Athens' attractions. Room is confortable and, in spite of the hotel being located on a bussy avenue, the outside noise is barely noticeable. Breakfast is proper for vacationers and the staff is extremely nice. On the ground floor, there is a coffee/restaurant with good selections and very good service. Finally, the front desk staff is very friendly and helpful if you need information. We would like to mention Ms. Marika! The hotel even provide a bag with some breakfast items if you need to leave before the service starts. Our hotel if we return to Athens!

Nothing to dislike!

The breakfast was amazing! The food was very well varied and fresh!! The front desk staff were extremely polite, professional and very helpful!!!!! The food at the bar/restaurant was quite plentiful and very tasty for the price paid which was a bargain!

The gym facilities are small therefore you had to reserve a time to be inside the gym by yourself, which was not convenient given my work schedule. The wi-fi would work well most of the time but then it would lag and not be consistently connected.

The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The cleaners are so helpful and always around to clean your room at every opportunity. The location of my room is facing the road and I would expect the door to be more of higher sound proof properties. Location of the hotel is close to the centre of the city and one can easily get around town.

The breakfast is too modest. the mattress is not so comfy. I came from the Uk and the electric socket in the hotel room is just for european standard. No consideration for people from other parts of the world like form the uk and US to be able to connect our devices like shavers, laptops etc. My laptop went dead the whole time I was there.

The room and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfortable, enough space to store and hang my clothes. Nice desk to work at. Airconditioning was quiet. Windows (if closed) kept almost all the noise from the street out. Breakfast was good; lots of bread, yoghurt, sweets, and some fruits. Wifi was good. Location was excellent to visit the Megaron Conference Center, only a 5 min walk.

Room had a weird low table that was in the way, blocked the path from bed to window. But I just moved it to another location (it was very heavy, though). Street was very noisy, but if you closed the window it was almost quiet. Elevator was very small and slow; awkward door. Shower was very tiny; there was room for a bigger shower. No space to put toiletries near sink and no hook for towel next to sink.

The people who work at Athinais hotel are the most kind, thoughtful and helpful people you will find in Athens. We had a mix up with a reservation and they fixed the problem with grace and generosity. They embody the Greek ideal of Philotimo. In addition, the room was sparkling clean, the property is in an excellent location and the breakfast was delightful. Athinais is a wonderful, family friendly hotel in a central neighborhood that offers a taste of real Greek hospitality.
