Fantastic location in the heart of Plaka, fabulous roof top bar with a view of the Acropolis. Very clean and staff very helpful and friendly.

Breakfast was a little boring, could have done with a better variation of fresh fruit, breads and biscuits, maybe offer scrambled eggs. We stayed twice first for 4 nights in a standard room with balcony, the second time for 2 nights on our return journey, we booked a room with acropolis view but to be honest we preferred the standard room set out better and after being in the rooftop bar we didn’t need the view of the Acropolis.

When we arrived, we realised that this location was actually the best choice we could have picked. Everything is like 5-10 minutes walking distance and neighbourhood is quiet, romantic and safe. Staff was incredibly friendly and our room was always clean, sheets were changed every day and we were very satisfied.

We only think that breakfast might be changed, not everything and not too much, just for example change the way you prepare eggs every day, or put one day ham, the other sausage, bacon etc. just not every day the same.

Perfectly situated hotel on the outskirts of the Plaka area, close to the transport hub of Syntagma. Friendly staff who facilitated a smooth, hassle-free check-in/check-out. The rooms are no-frills but are undeniably clean and comfortable, while the rooftop bar/breakfast area offers an astonishingly good view of the Acropolis.

The hotel has a very small lift that can make taking luggage to upper floors quite difficult, especially at busy times. Also, calling some balconies such is a bit of a stretch; we wouldn't have wanted to use ours.

Hotel Adonis is a little gem of a hotel. The location is perfect in the centre of the Plaka district. Turning left out of the hotel and then bearing right, there is a little Church which is beautiful. As you walk further down you are in the heart of the district with shops, lots of restaurants and you can be at the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum, within a short walk. The hotel staff are lovely, particularly the reception team and the ladies who served at breakfast. The view of the Acropolis from the balcony, where breakfast is served and where you can enjoy a drink at the end of the day, is nothing short of wonderful. Our room was big (Room 201), the bed and pillows super comfy and the air conditioning faultless. Towels were changed everyday. Delighted with everything.

There was nothing we didn't like

The rooftop bar view was so amazing. The breakfast choices were varied and plenty. The quality of the food was perfect. Sunset cocktails and breakfast with that view makes for a great value for this hotel. It was easy to find and off the main roads which made for a quiet space. The staff at the front desk were welcoming and informative. We were able to drop our bags off before check in since we arrived early morning.

There wasn't a secure space for luggage storage. However, we felt like things were still fairly safe and of course we took our valuables with us, but a separate storage closet would have been better rather than just out in the open.

The location was fantastic. On a lovely quiet pedestrian street in a convenient location in the Plaka. View from breakfast room/bar was amazing both day and night- looked right at the Acropolis. View from room was great too- also looked at the Acropolis. Room was a decent size as was the deck. Room and bed were clean and comfortable. Staff was super. They were always very helpful whether it was organizing transportation to and from the hotel, providing suggestions of places to eat or even a laundry service. Amazingly, they remembered who you were after meeting you only one time.

While the hotel was great overall, there were a few things that I found to be a challenge. The first was the shower. It is quiet small and while we didn't have any issue fitting in it, the way it was designed the entire bathroom became wet when using it. The other thing we noticed was that being on the floor just below the breakfast room/bar area, we could often hear a fair amount of noise from above. One other item to be conscious of was the stairs. They are spiral and probably not the best for those with mobility issues. There is a tiny elevator but as far as I could tell it doesn't go to the breakfast room/bar floor.

It is the best location in the Plaka area. All sites are walking distance (Monasteraki, Acropolis, Panathenaic Stadium, Agora and Temple of Hephaestus even the instagramable Little Kook Cafe). The only time we didn't walk was going to Lycabettus Hill and the bus meeting point to Meteora. The staff were kind, friendly, and ask where the best place to eat authentic Greek food. The Taverna is very near the hotel and the price is not expensive.

The breakfast could be boring and not a lot of variety. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the room.

We had an uncomfortable 1st night in a small double bed (room #108) which we don’t recall having that option to choose when booking. The room is very clean n tidy and would suit a single guest. Luckily George at Reception redirected us to #205 which was an immediate godsend 🙏 it was a comfortable fit for both of us and we were fine with two single instead of a bed to share. This was our 2nd visit back to Athens and to Hotel Adonis Athens. You get to different districts depending on whether you head left or right from the hotel entrance .. very convenient and ideal location! We had fond memories from before and this trip has again given us wonderful memories to treasure, starting with Hotel Adonis Athens ❤️ thank you guys … we appreciate all yr efforts 💪

I really liked the location - central, but slightly off the busy foot and car traffic of the main road (Metropoleos). The staff was also nice and helped us store bags and get cabs to the airport. The A/C in the room was great which I appreciated while Athens had a heat wave! Other guests were quiet and respectful. Also the rooftop terrace and breakfast was great. Amazing views on their rooftop terrace of the Acropolis at sunset.

The shower was a little less modern than expected. Also, there was some loud construction for one morning when breakfast was going on at the rooftop.

Location is great in the Plaka, you can get to all interesting places on your feet. It is 5 minutes walking from the Syntagma metro station. Breakfast is on the highest floor in the room with the great view towards Acropolis. Breakfast is self service, simple, but good. Staff is nice. They make your room every day and give you fresh towels.

I was alone , so I got a room for single use. The room was very small, with a big bed, fridge, TV set and a little balcony. But bathroom was really small. Thanks god that I am slim, so I could squeeze in the bathroom and close the bathroom door. Well, If one is too big, he can not enter in the shower cabine, sorry. The noise begins very soon in the morning, coming from the reception to higher floors.
