The staff were very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was done daily, very efficiently. The location was close to the Acropolis and other sites, and there were good restaurants close by.

The room was small and the bathroom was exceptionally tiny. The weather was hot while I was there, and the air conditioner wasn't working well. There is no elevator in the hotel, so baggage had to be carried up to my room on the 2nd floor.

In 2025, all houses and hotels are identical: they all have the same furniture, the same facilities, the same sheets. Everything is standardized and almost always Ikea. Acropolis House is old, it has grandmother's wallpaper, an old juke box and above all it's been run by the same family since the 1960s. It's an authentic and beautiful place: a true piece of Athens' history and trueness. If you're tired of sleeping in "cozy" and standardized houses from Lisbon to Istanbul, then this is the perfect place for you too. The family that runs it is wonderfully kind and hospitable.

Nothing. It's just perfect.

Acropolis House was a perfect introduction to Athens & Greece! I am so glad I chose to stay & would stay here again in a heartbeat! Easy to walk to all the places you want to see (Acropolis, Museums, lots of local food, the cat cafe)- it was perfectly central for everything! A perfect and safe spot for the solo traveler. The room had character, charm & comfort. I loved hearing the city below (but not a clubbing district, so just neighborhood sounds), seeing the city views and feeling a part of the neighborhood. The bathroom was clean and it was private for me (I can't remember if they have other options) But it was fabulous. Check in and communication was super easy & friendly! And a special shout out to the super kind cab driver they arranged for me! The breakfast was delicious and filling and the place itself? I Loved it! You can see the love that the family that owns it puts in to the place, and the staff was all so kind and lovely. Thank you so much for such a warm welcome and home for the night.

We loved the location, close to all the old town Athens sights, a 7 min walk to Syntagma Square where you can get the bus or train to the airport, and lots of restaurants. The hotel is nice and quiet at night, and it’s in a nice clean desirable neighbourhood. The hotel is old and quaint, looks like it’s been in the family for generations, but it suited our purpose as a good base to sightsee from & the beds were comfortable.

As expected the bathroom was tiny, and the shower only had a handheld shower head & a curtain which didn’t reach the floor, so it was hard not to get water everywhere.

I booked single room on a whim to go see acropolis during a work trip. I got the smallest room in the house, it allowed me to sleep and shower and be in the heart of the ancient city and be ready for my tour the next day. If you are looking just for a place to sleep, this did the job. It was by no means elegant though. Staff we friendly and even let me use the shower to freshen up before my flight out the next day.

Please note that some rooms the toilets are across the hallway but its your own private toilet that you have the keys too. This is an older hotel run by family. Whilst this was no problem for me, other travellers might not be okay with this.

Amazing location! Basically located right in the core of Athens and walking distance from Syntagma. I really loved the architecture and history of the building: old floors, antique doors and furniture throughout.

Felt that this hotel kept asking me about whether or not I am OK with them collecting my data. Also did not appreciate that we have to keep our key at the front desk when we leave. The keys all seem to just be put at the desk, not behind the desk (so anyone could take my key).

Nice breakfast. Perfect location with walking distance to Acropolis. Very responsive and helpful staff. Good air-condition which was crucial in July. Personal and historical atmosphere. Feels real and not mainstream. For a two-star hotel within that price range, service, standard and location, it’s a great deal.

Some simple and easy-to-fix small things could have been fixed but were not essential for our stay. However, it always signaling mindfulness if things are taken care of, even the small things. There’s a couple of stairs to climb to the top floor but acceptable regarding the price-level of this hotel.

A small, boutique hotel in a historic mansion, decorated inside in a quirky manner with old objects, paintings and bric-à-brac. The location is excellent, on a quiet pedestrian street in the beautiful Plaka neighbourhood and only a short walk to many of the historic archaeological and other sites, including the Acropolis, as well as to the nightlife and restaurants. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean (and indeed was cleaned every day during our stay). All the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. Overall a great place to stay in Athens if you are looking for a comfortable pension style hotel close to the sites.

Breakfast was a little disappointing: we enjoy the wonderful Greek continental breakfasts with fresh rolls, crusty bread and bakery goods from local bakeries, so were disappointed to be given a basket of sliced supermarket bread. However, it’s a trivial point in an otherwise enjoyable stay at the hotel.

The location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic, right in the centre, just a short walk from all the main sights. The room is small, but enough for an overnight stay. The breakfast is served, but absolutely sufficient. The fair-haired lady was absolutely wonderful, always very nice and helpful and very quick in serving breakfast. The dark-haired lady could have smiled more and been quicker at serving breakfast, but we weren't in a hurry to get anywhere so we didn't mind. Overall the stay was very pleasant, I highly recommend it to everyone.

I have come here for many years and I love the charm of the hotel, it feels like coming home. It is a family run hotel and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Nothing, it is unpretentious and simple and clean and has some really lovely details like the garden and book shelves and sitting room. It would be nice to have some fresh bread at breakfast, and maybe fresh orange. The rooms with balconies are the best, and they all have slightly different character.
