The hotel is one of the best I have stayed in. We were upgraded to a junior suite which had 2 large rooms and a huge bathroom! All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast offered so much choice and was excellent quality, you could even help yourself to a Buck’s Fizz if you fancied it! Lovely pool and bar area. Water melon was brought around mid morning, it’s these little touches that makes it stand out from the crowd. Plenty of sun beds and gorgeous Bali beds which we made the most of. Stunning location right on the beach and beautiful sunsets to admire in the evenings.

The breakfast was fantastic - always fresh, plenty of variety and local Cretan food always well represented. The food from Ouzaki was also very good. It's not allowed to 'reserve' sunbeds in this hotel - this is exactly as it should be! We never had a problem finding a spot at the pool or on the beach at any time of the day. The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet which was exactly what we wanted. No loud music or parties. Just some light live music by the bar in the evenings which was fine. The room was spacious and comfortable. We were told on arrival that we had been upgraded, which was a lovely surprise. We visited the spa twice during our stay. It was a wonderful experience on both occasions. Staff at reception are exceptionally efficient, helpful and welcoming. The location of the hotel is ideal. The bus to and from Chania town passes right in front and the stop is just a few seconds walk. The surrounding area also has fantastic restaurants. We were spoiled for choice. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and we hope that we will be lucky enough to visit again in the future!

We stayed at Thalassa Beach Resort with two other groups of friends and found the hotel superb from start to finish. The service was excellent throughout—friendly and professional from check-in to check-out. The rooms were spacious, well-equipped, and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the relaxing pool area and the welcoming atmosphere created by the staff. The breakfast offered a great variety, though I was a little surprised to be charged for a freddo espresso—especially as I usually skip food in the mornings and just have coffee. After that, I found myself making a few espressos from the machines instead. The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to the beach, local amenities, and a good number of restaurants within walking distance. My only real criticism would be the disorganised parking situation out front. Cars were often parked haphazardly, with little consideration for others. It would be helpful if parking bays were marked to make better use of the space. That aside, everything else was excellent, and I would happily return.

The hotel offered us a room with a seaside view due to it being empty on our arrival, and it was amazing. The rooms themselves are very large and nicely ventilated. The breakfasts had a high variety of both the desserts and appetizers. Everything was delicious. The pool in the hotel was very convenient, as it had a bar attached, and it was also nice to swim in on windy days (when the sea had high tides). The staff were super helpful in organizing transfers for us, and assisting in minor requests. They also offered various options for celebrating our wedding anniversary (we took the spa treatment, and it was sublime).

Everything was enjoyable, so there wasn't anything remotely negative about our stay. I guess, one thing is the distance to the nearest airport (Chania), but that can also be a plus, as the neighborhood isn't crowded at all. In fact, one could take the bus to Chania.

Only negative was that our room balcony view was of waste land/ car park but it didn’t affect our holiday as we didn’t spend much time in our room. We did try and upgrade but there were no rooms available. Advice is if view is important to you book a pool or sea view room

Hotel was in a great location, central to both Platanias and Agia Marina. Plenty of bars, shops and restaurants on the doorstep. Bus stop 100m away to Chania. Right on the beach with plenty of sunbeds, no stressful rush in the morning to get a bed! Listening to the sea from your bed is such a treat. Small adult only which added to the relaxed feel. Some evenings there was chilled live music by the pool bar which was a great addition. Super clean, with great attention to detail. The whole team worked so effortlessly hard and genuinely seemed to love their jobs and the hotel. Considering it was coming to the end of the season, they were so welcoming, friendly and seemed very happy to help with anything. Beds were very comfortable and I'm also including the sun beds which were great too!

Getting into the sea for a dip was a little challenge without beach shoes due to the slippery rocks as you first entered the sea. It was quite deceiving as the beach was sand, but about 2 metres into the sea were smooth rocks until about 10 metres out. Take or buy beach shoes it made such a difference. Sea was beautifully warm and well worth the effort.

The resort was very well maintained, clean, spacious and had a feeling of luxury. The staff were efficient and friendly, always willing to help. The sitting areas in the foyer and outside around the pool were lovely. The location was excellent, particularly if you had a hire car and were keen to explore the beautiful west end of the island. There were plenty of small shops and restaurants around the hotel. The breakfast buffet was AMAZING!! The room service pizza was delicious and it was good to have a smart TV that you could log into your own streaming accounts. I would happily stay here again.

The view from our room was just average, over a vacant lot to the beach and mountains in the distant. Possibly worth paying extra for an ocean view if a view is important to you.

Our room did not had a proper window/balcony with a view to the outside to get some fresh oxygen.....we had a beautiful "balcony" (seriously very beautiful), but with a view Insode the hotel/the lobby. They did Cover the view a bit with some amazing plants...so no one can watch inside the room from the outside..but there was a but if Lack in fresh oxygen in the room But on the other hand..for People who are there for staying outside for more than 70% of the Day, like we did...that would not matter to them..because there was still an AC and the rooms are beautiful. :)
