- The beach was very close, you could hear at night the waves from the apartment with the windows open. We went every night to check how the waves break. - Magda and her colleague (hosts) were amazing. Good recommendations, always happy to help and very good communication - Panormos had such a nice spirit at night as it filled up with tavernas - In apt 1 we had a nice private garden opening from the bedroom, and there were lovely plants around - The hosts even managed to save a parking spot in front of the apt. when parking was full at night - internet was good enough for 2 people working remotely - good water pressure and hot water was always available - Adorable cats in front of the hotel. Many people bringing cat food there. Also minor charity for good cause available (e.g. collect bottle caps for wheelchairs) - Very close to tavernas around. (O' Makis was something special) - Cold water was waiting for us in the fridge upon arrival - Sheets/ towels / were changed once every 3 days, but trash was taken out daily - Small safe available - The view was amazing

- Fridge is abit small ( think mini-fridge) , not an issue for most people but worth mentioning - A certain humidity in the rooms .This is most certainly due to proximity to the water (<50m) , but it might be important if you have sensitivity to such things

Castello Apartments in Panormo is a lovely place. The location is great, next to the port of Panormo, in walking distance to 10+ restaurants, three supermarkets and only one minute away from the beach and the village center. Plus all apartments come with a balcony, from which you can observe the sunset over the ocean! Our apartment even had an additional terrace in the back. The apartment is spacious and well equipped, towels and sheets are changed frequently and the kitchen allows for proper cooking. The owners of the apartment and the cleaning lady are very kind and super helpful, we could even borrow two beach umbrellas for our stay. They are also super family friendly and our apartment was well suited for families with one, maybe even two kids. A baby bed was confirmed upfront and already waited for us when checking in, with its own set of sheets and towels. Panormo is generally not so flooded with tourists allowing for calm and relaxed days and a local Greek vibe.

The apartment is partly a bit worn down whilst the pictures on booking.com showed the original brand new state, of course. It's not ideal that the bathroom has no window but given the layout of the apartment that's hardly possible to change and the air quality is manageable with the AC. A broom would be great for each apartment or in the entrance to be able to keep the sand out when coming from the beach.

The location is very good, in an open area with a side view of the sea. The studio is very spacious (also because there were only two of us staying in a studio that can easily accommodate four people). The mattress was perfect, the bathroom was a bit small but very clean, and the shower cabin was impeccable. A very pleasant surprise was having two terraces — one at the front and one at the back, by the bedroom.

It is not possible to reserve a specific studio. We would have preferred one on the first floor, but we were given one on the ground floor, which is quite elevated, to be fair. It is probably very difficult to make individual reservations for each studio. There is only one air conditioning unit, and it is placed in the bedroom. Its position is not ideal, being to the side of the bed, which makes the airflow uncomfortable. Also, the unit is rather noisy — you can hear the outdoor unit starting up. It's also worth mentioning that the air conditioning unit from one of the neighboring studios can be heard quite loudly when it's running.

The apartment was quite clean and relatively modern with two balconies. There was free street parking in front of the building most of the time. Lots of restaurants and shops in the area. Lots of cute cats there too.

We arrived I think on Sunday, when their check in closes at 4pm. They sent a message about this on booking.com but I did not see this until 2pm. I thought the check in hours would be until 9pm as advertised on booking.com. This is just something for people to be mindful of if they are coming on Sunday.

The location and view from the room are spectacular! This is a basic apartment but there's everything you need to survive ;) You can grab a coffee or sth to eat from a nearby bakery - recommend to be there early - best sweets dissapear quickly ;D It's very convenient to be allowed to park your car at the port - there was always a free space (in May). Highly recommend to check the google maps before getting there as there are two ways to reach it: 1 - safe road that surrounds this small town and 2 - through the middle of it - choose the 1st option if you want to avoid narrow roads and roads closures (the road through the city center closes every evening because restaurants put their tables there).

This was a truly wonderful stay for a solo getaway trip! Magda is an absolutely exceptional and warm host, and was always available for assistance or a local recommendation. The apartment itself is absolutely beautiful, very cool and comfortable, with a gorgeous view of the sea and nearby church from the patio. I loved waking up with a morning coffee and a book borrowed from the accommodation library, taking a morning stroll for coffee from one of the nearby cafes, and spending the day between swimming and enjoying delicious food in one of the nearby tavernas. I'm already so looking forward to the next time I can visit Panormos and stay with Magda again!

We loved our stay in Panormo village. It is a very charming and picturesque place. The apartment is clean and spacious with a nice view from the balcony. Magda is a wonderful and warm host, ready to be supportive at any time.

We would recommend a kitchen to be more equipped since it has a lot of free space. One more surprising moment was when the other receptionist, Tina, entered our apartment when we were out, to look for an iron through our staff which was borrowed, instead of simply contacting us but let's attribute this to local openness and hospitality :).

Our host was amazing, super helpful and always smiling! We really appreciated her. The rooms were nice, the view from the top room (where we stayed) was amazing (looking over the sea), and the location was excellent. Panormos is a small village so everything is close by, including a great beach just across the street, and great restaurants 3min walking. There's also plenty of street parking available just outside the building or close by.

The only thing that bothered us was that the bathroom wasn't aired out properly, so it contained a lot of humidity and smells, and therefore we had to air out by opening the balcony doors and the bathroom door. As an additional note, the building is not wheelchair accessible, and doesn't have an elevator, so people who can't climb stairs shouldn't book here.

The room is comfortable and clean. We had a beautiful view of the sea from our balcony. Also we were one minute away from the sea so a quick refreshing dive was easy. Supermarket, restaurants and coffee were all two minutes away from our room. Panormo is also next to great sights like Knossos, Matala, Kourteliotiko gorge e.t.c. It is a highly recommended choice to visit the beautiful sights of Rethimno.

The hotel does not provide parking, so you need to look inside the village for parking positions. Likely this was not a problem during our 3 days stay.

Great location by the harbour and beaches, and the pretty village. One of the few unspoilt villages on that bit of the coast - highly recommended. Lovely manager, very helpful.

Sharing the apartment with a friend so we needed the sofa bed. This only worked as a single, which was fine for us. However the bed was very close to the kitchen area with hum of fridge etc. got used to it after awhile. We were lucky we were there early in season so otherwise it was very quiet. On our last night people moved in next door and we could hear them quite clearly.
