Nice old school hotel (in good condition, clean). Very pleasant service (people on site, cleaners every day), beautiful views, beach right next to the hotel, no extra charge (dog stay, beach umbrellas). Parking available, wifi works. At first we booked for one night, but we stayed for two more because this hotel and location are a real gem of the southern region. Don't imagine 5 stars (with pools, free alcohol and massage), it's 4 stars and very very good. We have stayed in about 30 hotels across Crete and this one is a really good choice for this region - price/quality ratio, attitude, location on the beach. The funniest thing is that 10 km away is Matala (oversaturated with tourists and expensive) and then you discover such a gem as Kalamaki, kilometers of empty sandy beach right in front of the hotel, and no tourist traps, You have here really authentic taverns, a few cute shops, a beautiful village right on the beach. I've just told you a secret :) And thanks to the hotel owners who organized a very nice free lunch for the guests on Easter.

I really don't want to write anything positive, as I want to keep it to myself :) However, here we go: We absolutely loved our stay at the Alexander Hotel in Crete—it was a top-notch experience deserving of 10 stars! The hotel was exactly what we needed, and we must mention its exceptional service, beautiful accommodations, and stunning views. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome when I arrived. The location was perfect, offering easy access to the beach and local attractions. The amenities were fantastic, and the food was delicious. I can't recommend Alexander Hotel enough—it's truly a gem in Crete!

There is nothing to say. For us it was perfect and we want to return. I wonder how it is in winter. The winters might be difficult, as the area is a summer destination.

We were end of season so we not many in the hotel. The lady that greeted us was so friendly. Room we had was a balcony facing the beach. Very nice view. Even at end of season plenty of spots for dinner nearby

Simple, clean accommodations right on the beach. It’s on the quiet end of kalimaki. Free sun beds are available right in front of the hotel. Alexander and his family/staff are friendly and really make an effort to ensure their guests feel welcome. The facilities themselves are aging and some items (bathroom fixtures) should be replaced soon. That being said, the room was clean with comfortable mattresses. For the price, great accommodations.

Location on the quiet end of town was really lovely. It was a clean old hotel. Staff were friendly.. Hotel appeared booked out and staff were very busy. The beach out front is swim safe and sandy.. Accomodation provided what it needed to, in a very idyllic, quiet and beautiful coastline. Great for young families and older visitors.

As soon as I arrived I could tell it was a family-run hotel, Alexander and Diamonde were lovely and made me feel at home. I had the best Moussaka I’ve ever eaten in the hotel restaurant, which was very good value.

Went there with my chihuahua and everyone was so accommodating and nice. The owners are amazing and we enjoyed the spacious beach

This hotel is located almost ON the beach. Across the beach and you feet feel sand. We booked just 1 night but by arriving there we directly asked for a 2nd one. They had a room which was 10 euros more expensive, but we could stay for 2 nights. It was perfect. We opened the door of the balcony and we heard the sea. The beach is clean and natural. If you like a small, very quiet place - Kalamaki can be perfect for you. It was for us! We loved to stay at Alexander beach hotel - apart from the breakfast.

Breakfast isn't really good. No real bread, only the cheapest. The coffee tasted like it had been there for a few days. When we asked to check out 1 hour later, Alexander was a little unfriendly. He always seems to be in a hurry. His wife is super friendly though.

No issues to find parking space, the room was nice and everything was as expected. The location is excellent, the breakfast buffet was nice... eating breakfast with my kids right next to the sea was priceless.

Unfortunately there was no elevator for the upper floors.
