I have stayed at the hotel 4 or 5 times and on each occasion the stay has been great. It is a family run hotel, and they care that their guests have an enjoyable stay. I had a superior room on this occasion and it was very lovely and very comfortable. A double bed, sofa, walk in shower, and massive balcony. The garden by the pool is a great place to unwind, and is home to beautiful flowers. The bar by the pool offers refreshments throughout the day, and for a reasonable price you will not go hungry! The breakfasts are well stocked throughout the 3 hours it is served, with fresh eggs being cooked on request. Delicious pastries, full continental, lots of fresh fruit yogurt and different breads available. Only a 5 minute stroll into town and the beach, but far enough from the noise and hassle. An ideal location. My stays have been very enjoyable, relaxing, and trouble free. Why else would I keep going back!

Shaded space by the pool fills up fast, with people often “reserving” spaces that they don’t use for hours. But to be honest there is nothing that the hotel can do about it. It just proves what a lovely spot to unwind it is!

Super friendly staff. The breakfast was perfect with plenty of options. And the location was brilliant, walkable to the beach and also has guest parking.

There was a rock band playing to midnight on my last evening (wednesday) and my room was directly next to it. This mean it was extremely loud in my room. I didn’t mention anything or request to change rooms, as im sure other holidaymakers were having a good time. But thought I’d give it a mention as it’s probably a good idea to perhaps put guests that will not be attending in rooms further away from the music. Otherwise, my time at the hotel was great! Matala Bay Hotel is the best hotel in Matala. There is a beautiful garden with a large swimming pool. Efcharisto poli Yannis and Yohanina. They were very kind to us at breakfast. The location amidst the rock formations is amazing.

Unfortunately the people at the reception do not make you feel welcome and are rude. They do not check if you booked a room with dinner. We did not book a room with dinner only with breakfast. At checking out he never mentioned that we had to pay for dinner. On our way to a next place, he kept phoning telling us that we had to pay for 2 dinners. The only argument was that he saw us in the hotel on two nights. Finally he had to admit that he made a mistake.

We took two rooms with different rate. The better one on the up floor with one big bed and one single bed was equipped with tea pot and had a big balcony with a table and tree chairs, pool and mountain view which we really enjoyed. (The door to a balcony included the insects net that was very convinient) . The hotel rooms were clean. The air condition worked properly even outside was really hot. The hotel has its own parking

The hotel stays in the entrance of the village. So it is a bit far from the sea, shops and tavernas

The hotel is the biggest from the village and is maintained pretty well. Most of the tourists are from Germany. This is a good thing as they could have a constant flow of customers and they have secured an outcome and a dangerous thing as they don't have to fight to provide an excellent service, especially the breakfast as they already know the customer profile and they have the recipe to please them in full. The guy from the reception already offered me a free upgrade for the room so I might be subjective in a way.

Hotel has very good location, its rooms are well arranged, have spatious bathrooms and functional, efficient HVAC units. The stay was without any problems. Distance to the beach is around 500 m, similar to the main attraction, the old (roman and early Christian) caves delved in the face of the cliff hanging above the beach. Hotel has modest but clean, well maintained pool. Breakfasts, included in the cost of our room, were decent, nothing particularly excellent, but wide variety of dishes and products, organized in convention of Swedish table.

Minor discomfort is related to parking lot, which is small and not always it is possible to find unoccupied place. What's more, you need small car to fit it into place. Beside that the only suggestion is perhaps to - slightly - expand the breakfast menu. Anyway these remarks should not be taken as critical in the overall very positive assessment of the facility.

Loved the location just a short walk into Matala centre(10 minutes). Nice and quiet.Friendly helpful staff. Will be going next year. Thanks for making our stay lovely and relaxed.

Stayed here for one night. Good facilities swimming pool, games area, restaurant and bar. Clean and tidy. Friendly, helpful staff and great location to centre and beach. Breakfast was amazing! So much choice and availability and the breakfast staff couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend

Very good breakfast. Welcoming host Yannis. Very good location. Red beach and Kommos beach not far. On a lazy day local beach is only 5 minutes walk away which is full of different bars, restaurants, tavernas. Even on a lazier day hotel is equipped with swimming pool which is a lovely place to relax. Very good quality free wifi compared to the places we stayed in the past. Overall, excellent value for money.

Clean, comfortable and convenient rooms, and perfect location if you're planning on exploring Matala. I would highly recommend this place for anyone that visits there. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast spread was also very nice with a lot of options.
