Lots of parking right near the hotel - great if you are renting a car. Location is perfect - it's within 5-7 minutes of walking to the Matala center, but it's just far enough to be in a bit more quiet area (some other parts of Matala are way more noisy due to restaurants, clubs, etc). So the rest was super enjoyable. The breakfast was very nice and cheap, enjoyed it as well. The room itself is small but comfy, nothing to write home about but gets the job done (it's not like I've stayed in the room too much). Beds were good, all the necessities were also there.

The bathroom was just a bit small and the door to it was a bit squeaky and did not fully close, which is not a big deal though.

Matala, well worth a visit! The hotel is located, 10 min walk from the beach and village center, a clear advantage. You don't need to live in the middle of everything. Hotel is nice, very clean with a great pool area. Staff super nice and caring. We are happy to return again!

Breakfast was ok, but perhaps focus a bit more in food actually cooked than cold cuts and cakes. But, this is pretty standard in Greece. Anyway I got my boiled eggs and Greek youghurt so I am fine!

The hotel room was big with a lovely balcony. There were lime and pomegranate trees outside our window. The pool was beautiful with plenty of sunbeds available. The room was big and very clean. The lady doing the breakfast was very nice and extremely helpful. . The breakfast included was good with a lot of choice. Parking was right outside property. The beach/town was about a 5/7 minutes walk away. The grounds of the hotel were very well kept with plenty of fruit trees etc.

The room was very old fashioned and needed to be more up to date. It was very basic. Not much shade for parking out of the sun. There was a alsatian dog on the property that some people found scary especially a lady that had a small dog with her on holiday. Luckily I love dogs so wasn't a problem for me.

We absolutely loved our stay! Everyone working there was just so welcoming. Rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. They also cleaned our room every day. Breakfast was really great with a lot of options that will satisfy majority of people. They also have a perfect pool right outside of the building. And finally Matala is awesome and very different from all other places in Crete and is definitely something to be experienced. This accomodation is just a few mins walking distance from the Matala center but far enough outside to be nice and quiet. Perfect combo!

Loved the breakfast and value for money! Bed was lovely and big with many pillows and availablity for extra blankets. Air conditioning was used and worked well. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice from hot dishes to savoury cold and sweets. Coffee machine and juice machine. I was very impressed. Beds were comfortable and I even got a balcony. Slept wonderfully. And the reception doggy looks intimidating but actually is a big softie that just wants you to chuck a ball for him.

Our second time staying here It is a short walk (5 minutes) to town at night well lit Rooms clean and comfortable Breakfast included is quite good and many things to choose from. Very quiet especially at night Nice pool Would recommend and return

This is more constructive than a complaint A toaster at breakfast would be nice The hot choices were always closer to cold than hot But lots of other fresh choices

The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast available if needed. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room with kettle. Very comfortable bed. A very short walk to the centre, about 7 minutes .

Everything was fine. It was good value for the money and just far enough away from the noise of Matala. We stayed in a family room, very large, great shower.

Casa E Mare is a great place to stay. It's a short walk from the main beach road but still has a nice selection of restaurants around it. It appears to be a family run place and I found everyone there to always be friendly and ready to help. The rooms are very large and actually feel pretty luxurious for the very reasonable price being charged. Additionally, they are very thorough in the daily room cleaning which is extremely nice for a beach place since no matter what you do, you will bring sand home with you. Kata Beach is only about a 10 minute walk away but they even offer a shuttle bus that will take you there or to Karon Beach or Kata Noi Beach. They will even pick you up again! The internet is extremely strong.

Big variety of breakfast food. Cleaning lady came every morning to take out trash and mop floors. She changed towels every couple of days. Big guard dog is very friendly. Very quiet location with plenty of parking. 8 minute walk to Matala stores/restaurants. Pool was clean and good size with outdoor bathroom and shower.

I liked everything.

Simple but clean room, good and quiet location a little outside of main area of Matala. Highlight was the owner's dog that was guarding and greeting guests! Nice balcony with area to hang wet swimming suits and towels.

It was great value for money; there was nothing to complain about.
