This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed at Messinian and it never fails to provide everything we want mixed in with our wider, road trip style holidays that we tend to do in the Peloponnese. Everything is perfect from the space and layout of the hotel which is just the perfect size, not too small and not too big. It does simple, understated luxury. The staff are friendly and remember you if you’ve stayed before, always a nice touch. The two pools are wonderful for kids and adults alike. The breakfast is so good and they’ll make whatever coffee you ask for - as a coffee lover, super important for me! The views from morning until night across the bay of Kalamata are stunning, yet you are just outside the city enough to feel chilled, however you can access the local beach and bars a long walk or short drive down the hill. We’ll most certainly be back!!

The hotel is superb and we liked everything. Maybe a couple of suggestions: A) the elevator that could be programmed to work faster B) a tent in the common balcony- corridor in the back side of the rooms, that everyone uses to access them or to leave. This could protect them from the morning / noon sun that blinds you when you get out of the room and makes even the handle of the doors hot.

This hotel was so relaxing, so clean, quiet and peaceful. Our room was spacious, the bathroom large and the air conditioning was so comfortable. Our breakfast the next day was so lavish and delicious. The pools were so refreshing and amazing! Also - the views were truly and sincerely spectacular! We loved every aspect of this hotel.

It would be helpful if there was a concierge on duty to help suggest restaurants in Kalamata but that is such a concern. We figured it out.

This is the second time we were visiting the Messinian Icon. Every time we need to be in Kalamata, this is the place to be. Personally I believe this is the best hotel the town has to provide. Amazing facilities, great pool, spa and amenities all around. A huge Plus, the room service and the restaurant at night. If you try their food, you will be extra pleased. Second time there and the food keeps on getting better and better. Greek cuisine mainly, with a modern twist. Loved everything about this hotel!

A bit up on the hill and further away from the city of Kalamata. You definitely need a car to get there. Also when it gets too sunny during summer time, the pool area is a bit exposed with not enough shading. For someone like me that gets a bit burnt from the sun, I would have preferred at least a pergola incorporated in the space to provide extra shade.

Great amenities, the pools, the gym, the reception, all decorated nicely. The staff are excellent.

We had a sound of dropping water in our AC in our room that started only during the night, this was so annoying but we felt we can’t reproduce it during the day so we didn’t tell the hotel about it, regardless of that, we didn’t experience any issues during our stay.

Beautiful hotel, clean and spacious with very comfortable bed and pillows. The staff was very pleasant and polite, the pool area felt luxurious with pool side bar and food service available. The views from the pool area are spectacular, we were able to capture stunning sunsets overlooking the city and Gulf of Kalamata.

Location-wise, it is quite secluded, up on a hill which is idyllic if you love to watch sunrises and sunsets, however, if you want to go to any restaurants or even just for a walk, you need a car to go into the town of Kalamata or to the beach. The restaurant is very big, but there are not too many options on the menu,

The location & quality in general were good Staff amazing

Thought breakfast could be better. Not a lot of selection of fresh fruit especially the bananas were bad each day. Stale cakes and biscuits. Could do with fresh crusty bread. Sometimes ran out of items. Coffee and fruit juices excellent.

Beautiful view of Kalamata. You would need a car to get around. Very quiet location. Very nice pool area.

The menu was limited especially if you were staying for a week or so. The wine list was in Greek but the staff were very helpful there. The room was not luxurious in any way and the bathroom was fairly functional.

We spoiled ourselves for a few days during a heatwave and this is the place to do. Total luxury, beautiful quiet air conditioned rooms overlooking the sea and with magnificent mountains behind… and of course two magical pools to laze by all day. Great breakfast, good restaurant, not crowded at all. Friendly staff. At times it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.

Very friendly and professional staff who went out of their way to assist and accommodate. The hotel is faultlessly clean with a, spectacular view of the bay and sunset. The buffet breakfast was lovely also. Very pleasant and easy check in and check out.. Would love to come back.
