My wife and I, discovered this little gem during our last trip to Kavala. Anthemion house is a beautiful hotel, a neo-classic house converted with gusto and careful thought to spacious and luxurious rooms. The feeling inside was unique; we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the hotel. We loved our room and we felt at home during our stay. We found that the breakfast had an interesting touch as we were served with different and extremely tasty options from the local bakeries every day; we enjoyed the peace and quiet and the great atmosphere at Anthemion house. Everyone we met from the staff was amazing. During our stay, we had the pleasure to meet with Vaggelis, Maria and Vicky. They were all extremely friendly and helpful. They were great when they welcomed us to Anthemion house and a pleasure to talk to ever since! The hotel also offers two communal balcony areas where you can enjoy the view of Kavala’s fort and aqua duct while sipping a morning or afternoon coffee or even enjoying a cigarette in case you are a smoker. The hotel is situated a stone’s throw from Kavala’s famous landmark; Kavala’s aqua duct. There are several bars and restaurants within a 10 minute walk either from Kavala’s port or the St Nicolaus’ church area. The hotel is very close to the old town of Panagia which is great for sightseeing but also offers the option for a breath-taking visit to Kavala’s famous fort! Kavala’s high street and shopping centre are only a 10-15 minute walk away. You will also find a few pharmacies very close to the hotel same as several late night convenience stores and snack bars in case you are returning back late at night. Definitely a must visit place for our next trip to Kavala!

Everything was amazing!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The hospitality was outstanding, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome and well cared for. Everything was spotless, beautifully decorated, and the location couldn't be more perfect for exploring Kavala. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious with plenty of variety. If I ever visit Kavala again, I’ll definitely stay here without a second thought!

Everything was perfect! I just wish I could have stayed longer!

It’s a very nice little hotel in an extremely attractive location in the beautiful city of Kavala. The hotel is located in the center of the city, very close to the sea and port, the shopping area, as well as the old town, i.e. the recognizable fortress and its viaduct. The room was a little smaller, but well organized, with all the necessary contents and functionalities for the average tourist. The cleanliness of the facility is at a more than enviable level, probably the best in that regard of all the places we have stayed so far. Bed linen and towels were changed literally every day, even beyond our needs. The price of accommodation includes breakfast, which is served to guests in wicker baskets and contains traditional Greek foods, varied enough to satisfy vast majority of tourists. The hotel has a secured parking space for the same number of vehicles as there are rooms, which is really commendable and rare considering how pronounced the problem with traffic in Kavala is. The Wi-Fi was fast enough and stable throughout our stay, so we have no complaints about that either. Finally, the highest praises go to the friendly staff who were available all the time, extremely friendly, polite, smiling and maximally engaged to make the visitors' vacation even better. Indeed, in the end, great satisfaction and a pleasant feeling remain after staying at Anthemion House, so it is quite certain that we will return to the same place as soon as possible.

There were minor impracticalities in the hotel room, but nothing that would ruin the final impression. The hotel parking is not fully secured, it is dusty and bumpy, but considering that finding free parking in Kavala is like winning the lottery, we don't take this as a big problem either. We mention these little things only for the reason that perfection does not exist and it is always possible to improve and perfect something.

The room reserved was very spacious, clean and well appointed. All the basics were present in the kitchenette. The under counter fridge was efficient and worked well. The linen on the bed was very good. The towels in the shower room were fluffy. The lighting in the room was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel also provides off road parking a very short distance from the building! The location was perfect for an easy walk into the old town or to the main shopping precinct (including restaurants). Well done Team!

Our stay at Anthemion House in Kavala was nothing short of exceptional. Their warm hospitality truly elevated our experience. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with meticulous attention to detail, both inside and out, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable, with incredibly soft beds and strong, reliable wifi. We especially loved the balcony on the first floor, which offered a stunning view of the castle. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the city centre, the old town, and the marina. The free parking was an added convenience, making our stay even more hassle-free. The included breakfast was delicious and provided a great start to our day. Overall, Anthemion House delivers outstanding value for money, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kavala. It had very nicely decorated, clean and very large rooms. Our main reasons for choosing it were its proximity to the center and its availability of parking. The staff was very friendly, fast and knowledgeable. We were almost sorry we stayed for 1 night. The breakfast basket was very fresh and varied. We had breakfast on the balcony in front of our room. There was also a breakfast room below. Their little gifts upon leaving the hotel were also very nice. Thanks for everything.

For my mother, who is nearly 80 years old, climbing the ramp to reach the hotel and climbing the stairs to reach the first floor of the hotel were tiring. I recommend that people with elderly guests request a room on the ground floor. Another suggestion I have is that it would be nice if there were paper towels in the kitchen area of ​​the room.

Great hospitabilty and very good location, safe car parking

The staff was very friendly, the hotel was clean everywhere (not just the rooms), the breakfast was very big, good coffee (decaf available), spacious room, good location. There was also a gym. The entrance has stairs only but the staff helped with the luggage as well. The biggest perk of all - private parking.

The seagulls outside were a bit loud but I like the sound of them, so not an issue for me.

Located very conveniently near the town center and all tourist attractions, this hotel has transformed a historical merchant's building into a cozy accommodation. The beauty of the building and its traditional architecture add value to the room's comfort, central ventilation system, very comfortable beds, and nice bathroom with excellent shampoo and shower gel. The breakfast was rich, and there was a fantastic choice of coffee/tea. The most pleasant aspect of our stay was the staff, who greeted us with a smile and friendliness. There is also free parking just 30 meters from the building, which is very convenient for visitors traveling by car.

The only disadvantage for people with mobility issues is the lack of an elevator, but the staff offers to take up the luggage if needed. I am sure they would also provide support for climbing the stairs.

The house definitely has a special feeling to it that I haven’t found anywhere else. It is renovated with exceptional taste and an impossible to miss attention to detail. The rooms are spacious yet cozy. A lot of amenities are present in each of the rooms and the common areas of the house. The view is unique and enjoying it with some fresh coffee was a pleasant experience. The breakfast was a very nice touch as it consists of local foods and varies in food types - there is something for every taste. The hosts were welcoming, warm people and made sure that we had the best stay possible. They also gave us some tips about exploring the city. I would definitely go there again!
