Location, Location, Location. The views were amazing of the surrounding mountains and the town of Sparta. Home of king Leonidas of the 300 Spartans. The room was huge and had a balcony with these views. Great for a family as the pool would be the perfect place for the hot Greek summer. Less than 10 mins to the town and only an €8 fare. Bed was comfortable and the air conditioning most welcomed. The staff were all too helpful.

Located among lush olive tree groves with a fantastic view of Sparti, Mystras and the spectacular mountain backdrop, this was a Peloponnese paradise!! It was absolutely fantastic! Joanne was the perfect representative of this property with her friendly, warm and professional assistance. She was so delightful and served the best continental breakfast on our trip in Greece. The other staffers were wonderful as well, but she was exceptional!

Perfect location close to town center! Amazing view!All the staff that works there and also Dimitris are very helpful!The rooms are very big comfortable and always clean! The best part of the trip was the meeting with the hotels lovely cat who was such a pure joy!Also the breakfast was great!Many choices and always fresh!

The only issue is the Internet access which is a bit slow!

Immaculately spotless accommodation and property grounds. We booked the basic room and were surprised by the size - a loft style apartment, with a main bedroom as well. A lounge area, kitchenette and a second large double in the loft. Staff were welcoming and attentive. A small balcony with a chair and table was the perfect place to catch the last of the sun with a book and a beverage (so peaceful and quiet) and watch the sunset behind the mountains. There is a restaurant onsite if you don’t want to drive into town. It’s basic, but also reasonable prices.

Couldn’t fault it. Highly recommend.

This is my second time to this hotel. It's not just a hotel but a Sparta experience. Melies hotel sits on a hill top with breathtaking views of Sparta, the olive grove covered valleys and exceptional mountain views. Each suite is eclectic, funky and fun while remaining comfortable. The grounds are beautiful to walk though and the main terrace for dinning, pool and sitting area is beyond inviting. The staff is friendly, helpful and always there with a smile. They offer an amazing breakfast with lots of culinary choices for lunch and dinner.

Was there for one night so didn't notice anything I didn't like.

This hotel is in a magnificent location at the top of a hill allowing for awesome views. The units are in the style of traditional Greek houses and allow for ample privacy and space. The staff - Dimitris and all the waiters cleaners and other staff were exceptional in providing customer service and making you feel genuinely comfortable, and are always ready to remedy any query or minor concern. We left before breakfast hours to see the Mystras site and our breakfast was prepared for us so we could take full advantage of the day!!! These people really deliver on "Filotimo" and I would highly recommend staying there.

The Hotel was amazingly. We felt like family. Manos and Tonia are locals and easily answered all are questions. All their recommendations were on point. The Main Street in Malia is about a 10 minute walk. The Hotel is ocean front and has beautiful grounds. Very relaxing! The pool was much appreciated, we used it to cool down after our excursions. The food was delicious and locally grown. Demitri the owner was available daily for any concerns we might have had. He was very friendly. The city bus, about a 10 minute walk from Hotel It has air conditioning . The ride is very comfortable, it’s about 1 hour to Heraklion and 40 min to Agios Nickolaos . We took the bus to the airport our last day. Cost approximately 7 euros. The Restaurants we really enjoyed were Anemi Taverna and Malia Star both are family own, farm to table and amazing.

Everything about our experience at Melies Hotel was excellent! Staff were wonderful, food was delicious, views and the beauty of the property were amazing, accommodations were spacious and comfortable with a nice little balcony overlooking the serene landscape. We even received assistance from hotel staff prior to our stay in procuring an interpreter who was amazing as well during a local excursion. We will always pick this hotel for future stays in the Sparti/Tripoli area. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Beautiful location and lovely staff. Our room was very big and made us feel instantly at home. The atmosphere was nice and sereen, sometimes shaken up by Greek families and children playing in the pool, which made the Greek experience complete.
