A wonderfully designed space, full of charm and character – beautifully preserved old furniture, statues of saints and unique decorative details. The intimate courtyards and the idea for morning coffee were brilliant – we loved drinking it at sunrise and enjoying a mini muffin. There are many places in the hotel with a majestic view of the volcano – we especially recommend taking your morning coffee to the rooftop terrace. There is a safe platform where you can sip your coffee and admire the breathtaking view. The breakfasts were excellent – ​​with fresh pineapple, watermelon and mango juices. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. When we asked for directions, they were happy to print out maps of the alfombra de flores procession route. The hotel also has a museum area and a chocolate factory, which guests have free access to – a wonderful surprise! The pool is beautifully situated and the hotel is home to two wonderful parrots, which adds even more charm. Highly recommend - this place is a real gem in Antigua. Pictures don't do it justice - you simply have to experience it for yourself. Absolutely worth it!

The bathroom could do with some updating, but everything was functional, well-equipped and spotlessly clean – so it didn’t affect the comfort of our stay.

Beautiful Hotel. I loved that they had coffee at the end of the hall to your rooms ready at 6:00 am as I’m an early riser. Best water pressure in the shower ever. A very nice touch was when you went to eat in the restaurant, they asked which country you are from and then put a little flag on your table The buffet breakfast was amazing with a vast and fresh selection- most times my main meal of the day!! Very friendly and accommodating staff.

Personally noise doesn’t bother me, but because the doors are authentic antique doors they are not thick or sealed , you can definitely hear the noises from outside. If you are sensitive ask for a room more isolated

Gorgeous grounds with a lot of history. The spa area is beautiful.

The service from the beginning is not that of a 5 star hotel. Upon arrival, there was no direction on how/where to check in - we had to wander around and find someone to help us find it. Staff wasn’t very friendly or helpful at the check in desk. There was no help or direction provided on how to locate our room or how to find the spa from our room. Food was average and wine selection should be improved. Overall, it’s a beautiful property, but people should not go in with the typical 5 star hotel / service expectations.

One of the most amazing hotels I have stayed in in my whole life. If you can stay here, absolutely do without hesitation! It is SO unique and beautiful. From the food, to the spa, to the pool, to the grounds... this is a 10/10. We loved it so much we ended up adding on another night at the end of our trip. We also were here with our 15 mo old - this was awesome with the pool and so much space for her to walk around. She enjoyed the parrots on site, exploring the ruins, and the fountains were a hit! The staff was great bringing the crib and having a high chair for her at the restaurant. I could have spent another week here! If I am back in Antigua, this will be my stay for sure.

Although La Antigua is amazing city, there is no need to leave this marvelous hotel. I've visited dozens of hotels through my live. Most of them were wery good. But this one is above all of them and above my secret expectations. Highly professional service and staff as well as smooth music, that can be heard in common spaces and relaxing smells, build the atmosphere of wellbeing and luxury. Additional gems are free entrance to the meseum, to the pottery and chocolate workshops and the private, guarded, underground parking. What an amazing place. I wish everybody could stay there.

The historical ambience and the overall beauty of the hotel is out of this world. Wherever you go within the property, you are in awe of the place. The swimming pool, the steam room, the restaurant and the staff - it's all world-class quality. And the stylish rooms. And the close proximity to the main historical plaza of Antigua. There are several museums that a part of the property and you can visit them for free. I will go back to this place next year.

Some room features (rugs, bathrooms) are a little tired.

The hotel itself is a museum . It is luxurious and with excellent customer service . All staff were extremely friendly and attentive . There is so much to admire and enjoy. Spending extra for the room with access to the spa was worth every penny . The spa is incredible . The garden, the bar / restaurant in the spa area and the jacuzzi were incredible . I treated myself to a massage and Bertha was phenomenal. I would definitely come back . We made sure to go to the sister restaurant “fork and spoon “ and the view is phenomenal , a must see!!

This hotel is amazing! The spa facikities are top quality and the pool is with warm water. There i plenty to do on discover on premises with so many interesting musea all over the place. Make sure to take the shuttle up to cierro sto domingo which is a beautiful cultural center with the most amazing views and restaurant. The restaurant on premises is nice for having lunch and dinner a la carte!

The buffet breakfast gets tiring after a couple of times. I would recommend having breakfast at the many restaurants in Antigua.

A truly unique and iconic destination hotel, spa and archaeological site. This was our second stay in under a year and we hope to continue to visit in the future.

We understand that this is a huge, old site that requires a great deal of specialised upkeep but there’s always loud construction work from 8am-5pm around the hotel. The spa area is having work done and was sadly not a relaxing space this visit. Lots of saws, hammering and workers wandering around.

Amazing property! Room was comfortable and beautiful. Grounds were fabulous. Felt privileged to stay in such a beautiful property. The architecture of blending old ruins into the scope of the property made it such a unique place. Lots of quiet places to relax. Staff were very accommodating. Spa was lovely.

Lots of weddings and events taking place but it wasn’t too much of a nuisance.
