We LOVED our stay at Mestizo Antigua and if I were to come back to Antigua I'd definitely stay here again. The breakfast was soo good and so worth having it included. The staff were super kind and friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds were great. We also loved that you could visit the other Mestizo location and enjoy their pool. The view from both hotels is amazing. Highly recommend! They also helped arrange transfers for us as well!

They said they had a surprise for us which was dinner. We assumed the dinner was free because we paid for an extra night but were going to miss the breakfast due to our early flight but upon checkout they did charge us and when I messaged them they never responded which really sucked.

This was our second time staying here within the week as we took a one night break hiking Acatenango Volcano. We stayed 2 nights, did the one night volcano hike on the volcano, then came back for 5 more nights. Cristofer at the front desk was very helpful with everything. He knew I drank tea and let me keep my milk in the fridge so I could have tea whenever I wanted. Special special special thanks to Juan Jose who would give me hot water early in the morning for my tea and was always cheerful about it. The ladies serving breakfast were so lovely and polite. The rooms were spotless. The hotel is right in the center of everything.

The property is in a good location close to the Central Park. The building itself is beautiful, with a maze of courtyards, dining rooms, rooftop sitting/eating areas, shops, spa business etc. Our room was compact but beautifully appointed. The hotel provides a water station to reduce the use of plastics. A request for an iron and extra coat hangers was promptly actioned. The bed was very comfortable and we always managed to have restful sleeps. We had a very early start at 3:30am on day -travelling to Copan. Juan Jose was very helpful assisting us in contacting the transfer company when they did not arrive on time. All in all a very nice stay.

We weren’t made aware on our arrival that the hotel operates a restaurant/cafe that provides lunch and dinner etc. it’s not a problem (just a suggestion) but would have been good to know…along with a copy of the menu in the room.

The hotel is a short distance from the central plaza and has been beautifully restored. All public areas are immaculate and very peaceful. Our room was well equipped with comfortable bed, plenty of hot water for showers and good quality toiletries provided. The room had lots of natural light although it was on the upper floor, rooms on the ground floor looked quite dark and much less private. Breakfast which can be taken in the downstairs cafe or the rooftop has a choice of set options which we found to be very good. We would be happy to stay here again.

It is a lovely and peaceful boutique hotel in an EXCELLENT location. Walking distance to all major attractions, restaurants, cafes, parks, bars etc. I really enjoyed the convenience.. Right in the center of everything. I loved the Breakfast options.

I was given 2 double beds instead of 1 Queen or a King - which would have been ideal. the room location could have been better as there was no view and no real privacy if I left the curtains open. I asked for a better room prior to checking in since it was my birthday week but not sure they listened to me. The TV only has Netflix - would have been nice to get a news channels at the minimum like CNN International

The staff is exceptional: Cristofer, Evelyn, Uber, Marvin, William et al. The place is beautiful, classy, and just overall comfy. Breakfast selection was delectable, and staff was so helpful to provide breakfast after breakfast hours - after we returned from our am hiking or walking tours. Mestizo through Cristofer was already servicing my stay way before I arrived, by taking care of my transportation needs, and any and all inquiries I had throughout our stay.

April in Antigua did get hot, and the air machine was ineffective in cooling the room. Taking showers to cool down as well as leaving our door open for air circulation was helpful to help ourselves feel comfortable. Perhaps this is not a Mestizo hotel thing but a Guatemala thing - AC or fans are not part of hotel accommodations.

We had an exceptional stay at Mestizo Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. Christopher, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of perfect. He was incredibly attentive and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The hotel's ambiance is beautiful, and the attention to detail in every aspect of our visit was evident. We can't recommend Mestizo Hotel enough and look forward to returning soon. Not staying long enough.

Great location, well appointed room, and wonderful breakfast. Beautiful historic building with rooftop. Very friendly, helpful staff. Our room was small but this is to be expected when in a historic building near the center of town. Had good storage shelves. Air conditioner is a free standing unit with a vent hose that requires window to be open. We did not need it during our stay. Laundry service across the street and center is a block away.

A wonderful property in a beautiful building set in the heart of colonial Antigua. Excellent breakfast with a nice offering of options. Perfect location. It had the added benefit of having a massage spa right in the lobby of the hotel which we used extensively. The staff is helpful, friendly and kind. We had a great time here.

I have stayed at many fine hotels, but this raises the bar far beyond any expectations. The hotel is unfathomably beautiful with art and decor that accentuates the old stone walls and the tile floors. The terrace has a breathtaking view of two volcanoes, one which irrupt every five or ten minutes. . The staff were helpful, friendly, and professional. And, they have the rare quality of making us feel special. her last evening, we asked to have dinner. We arrived at the appointed time to find a table in a courtyard with candles and rose petals, leading up to the table and spoon across the table. The food was amazing the special cocktail they prepared with ground, pumpkin seeds and rum , what is the revelation? I have never been so spoiled.

Well, I would normally talk about the few shortcomings found everywhere, honestly, there were none!
