The hotel is very centrally located. Very close to main park. Lots of coffee shops, smoothie shops, spas and restaurants within walking distance. It has a serene courtyard- actually two of them- with hammocks, comfy chairs. A cute little bar/coffee shop is also available. Extremely clean rooms and common areas. Incredibly friendly staff.

The walls were a bit thin but it was quiet after about 10:00 pm. And who can complain about hearing people laugh and have fun anyway?? A small drawback in my opinion!

Super clean hostel with brilliant breakfast and great staff. This place is so clean, staff seem to constantly be cleaning common areas. Beds are very comfy with super thick mattress and in 4 bed dorm have private curtains on each bed, private electric socket and lamp. Beautiful gardens and really good breakfast included. Location is also great with many things in walking distance to the hostel.

More bathrooms would be ideal. The option for same sex dorms would be preferable as I was woken by a guy pleasuring himself! I know thats not the hostels fault, but I would've preferred female only dorm.

Breakfast was decent, but what I liked were the beds and sheets. Some of the most comfortable nights I slept. They were very accommodating, they prefer cash but are able to accommodate credit cards for a % fee. The staff was amazing, they helped me book a late transfer for 350 Quetzales, I arrived close to midnight alone so that was the safest option since it was my first time in Guate. If you leave early for a hike or check out early, they can prepare a breakfast in advance, it's just a healthy yogurt with chia seeds, coconut, etc but it was nice. Please let them know in advance night before.

That there were only two showers and no soaps/shampoos, but the wait wasn't terribly long.

The hotel is beautiful, in an ideal location with lush garden courtyards and chic design choices. The room was on the ‘cozy’ side, but the bed was comfortable and cool with a lovely view of the volcano, and the bathroom had a fantastic rain shower with great water pressure which is always a win. Breakfast was provided as part of our booking, and we were given the choice of 3 options - a granola bowl, scrambled eggs with frijoles & tortillas, or banana pancakes. We only stayed the one night, but can happily say that the eggs and pancakes were both delicious and served promptly. The hotel had a storage room (with cameras) for luggage post-check out which was handy, and they also had various tours and shuttle bus info and booking assistance available at reception. All in all, a fantastic stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommended.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stayed at Ojalá for two nights and wished I could have stayed longer! This was my third visit to Antigua, and after trying several hostels, I can confidently say that Ojalá is the best. If you’re looking for a beautiful, clean, and quiet place, this is it. Unlike some other hostels, it’s not a party spot, making it perfect for a relaxing stay. The breakfast, included in the price, exceeded my expectations—especially the banana pancakes! They also offer an onsite laundry service for a small fee, which is very convenient, as well as tour and shuttle services to make travel easy. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I highly recommend this place!

Stayed in a 4-person dorm and the beds were super comfortable and the privacy curtains did their job. The place has two courtyards, the 4-person dorms are in the lower floor in the back and share a courtyard with the private rooms which are located on the upper floor and the ground floor as well. The front courtyard has access to the 8-person dorm which also is where the main entrance and coffee/bar is located. Both courtyards are gorgeous and the grounds are well kept with beautiful purple flower petals laying on the ground in the rear courtyard. I found the Wi-Fi to be really good and I was able to get a lot of work done since the place is really quiet and peaceful. The breakfast that comes with the dorm stay is incredible! I didn't try the pancakes but I loved the muesli and the eggs with tomato/onions and beans on the side. Everything was fresh and freshly made. The bathrooms were super nice, well-designed, and very clean (I am a stickler for bathrooms). I couldn't be happier with my dorm stay here!

They only have 2 bathrooms with showers that are shared by 3 4-person dorms and the 8-person dorm. It is technically enough, but in the mornings you have to wait in line to take a shower. It is a very minimal issue, but of course having 1-2 showers would easily solve this problem although I know it can be hard to add plumbing to these older infrastructures.

One of my favorite stays on my Guatemala trip. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The grounds are so beautiful! The included breakfast is delicious and tied us over for a few hours in our day which is a great bonus. Loved that they allow you to do laundry onsite for a fee - which cost me 3US for wash, dry and folding, which was totally worth it. The hotel is also greatly located to everything you need and want to see in Guatemala.

Not enough bathrooms for the amount of people. I found myself waiting a few times throughout my stay, not only to use the toilet but to also use the shower. My first stay was in a shared room with 4 people total. My second stay was a private room with a shared bathroom which I didn’t realize was the same bathroom I’d be sharing with the whole hotel. Had that been more clear, I would have gone the shared room route again because honestly, I found the beds to be more comfortable in the shared room. I decided on a private room bc I wanted to be sure I had uninterrupted sleep the day after I climbed the mountain - I should have paid a bit more to get my own private bathroom too because it was a little stressful having to wait in line to use the toilet when it’s an urgent matter.

Overall I had a great experience at Ojala. The location was very central, breakfast was delicious, the property extremely well kept and maintained. I worked remotely while I was there and had excellent wifi the entire time. Sleeping in might be tricky here as breakfast starts being served at 7am and I found that the main areas (just outside the rooms) start to get a tad noisy shortly after that. Noise ends pretty early at night around 10/11pm which I was grateful for as I've had bad experiences with music in other hostels. Id recommend it especially for the wifi and free breakfast.

the room In the picture on booking.com was different than the room I was given. The room pictured had high ceilings and the room I was given did not. I paid extra money to have a nice private room and I wanted the exact room pictured. The hotel and Booking.com should make sure the room photos are accurate.

Very Beautiful place, extremely clean and comfortable beds with curtains. The hotel is close to everything and the breakfast incl. coffee was very tasty and filling.

Travelling solo I would have liked some social activities to better connect and meet other travellers. Also, the 8bed dorm was right next to the breakfast seating area and the reception which meant it was getting a little noisy sometimes at night and in the mornings. From what I saw, the 4 bed dorms all seem to be further away and thus, more quiet.
