The location and staff

The bathroom was small and it was connected to the bathroom next door. So we could hear everything. EVERYTHING

Perfect location to visit Antigua. Lovely gardens. Good traditional breakfast. Tiny pool to cool down after a day in the city..Small room but table and chairs outside room to read, relax, play cards....

The ventilation in the bathroom was holes in the wall which meant that you could hear the neighbours when they used their bathroom as if they were in your room!!

This was our second time staying at Casa Mia and it was much much better than the first time. For one thing the lady at reception was much nicer than the gentleman who greeted us the first time. And she gave us a room on the second floor. (rooms on the 1st floor all have a black mold smell which is overpowering). The room on the 2nd floor was a good one and spacious and had two large double beds which were comfortable. We had a room on front of hotel overlooking the street. The hotel is beautiful to be sure and the cafe breakfast area in the back was also lovely. Breakfast is fine. The location is also good and near an outdoor market for Guatemalan handicrafts and near several pharmacies and shops. It's about a 10 min walk to the arch. We were also able to use the parking that we paid for which is secure and in the back during this 2nd visit. On our first stay (which was 5 days earlier) the gentleman at reception failed to help us open the large doors to the parking area and we ended up having to park on the street and I can't believe the car was still there in the morning and not ticketed or towed. We spent about 45 minutes trying to find parking that first night and it was late and all he had to do was walk to the back to show us the entrance and open the garage/parking lot doors, but he couldn't have been bothered. I will say that Casa Mia is simply old world beautiful and I took many pictures of it. Also, I noticed they allowed pets which is fantastic if you are traveling with a dog.

Street noise was immense as it was a Saturday night. So party party all night long until literally 6:00am when there was a marathon and they cleared out all the drunk people who screamed all night long...and I do mean scream. We kept the window open for as long as we could as it was hot and the window is the main ventilation. There is a 2nd window into the hotel which is right on the hallway. It has decorative bars on it so it's safe to open while you sleep. The hotel is peaceful inside which is great as again outside it can be as loud as Mardi Gras.

The room is perfectly adequate for short stays. The included breakfast was a typical Guatemalan breakfast of eggs, fruit, beans, and cheese. It was a great introduction to the local food culture. The staff helped give directions and opened and closed the main doors after hours. But the building is stunning. I would stay again - it was an affordable basic option in Antigua.

The hotel is on a busy street, so you'll hear traffic noise at night (I used earplugs). The bedding was also a bit basic but I wish that there were additional blankets. The pool is just for show (or to dip your toes in) - not for lounging.

Bathroom is a little bit tight

My room was on the top floor & was spacious and clean with enough natural light. There is a nice patio & sitting area at the back by the pool. The pool is child size. The hotel is located close to all amenities & staff are helpful. It is a good hotel for a short stay.

Noise is a factor to consider as the hotel is on a busy street near the market. The traffic noise wasn't an issue for me but the barking at night from the market dogs made it difficult to sleep at times.

Location was good, three blocks from town square, on site parking lot was a plus, the court yard is very nice, the staff made me feel very welcomed and were very helpful, they have a 24 hours front desk service, I checked in at 10:30 PM and out at 6:00 AM

Rooms/bathrooms are very small and outdated and you can hear next room bathroom noises There was only one option menu for breakfast Rooms have no air conditioning so it could get a little hot, there was portable a Fan in the room

We were upgraded to a nicer room unexpectedly and were pleasantly surprised! The manager and staff were very kind and helpful with anything we needed. We especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast, strong coffee, and friendly staff in the morning - so much so that we never ate anywhere else for breakfast despite all of the other wonderful places! We loved grabbing hot chocolate from a nearby store and heading to the roof terrace to watch the sunset.

The pesky birds that stole my bread at breakfast! Just kidding; they are cute yet very bold.

The Hotel is really nice, clean the staff is friendly and their breakfast was delicious, their pool area just stunning.

The room was facing the street, no AC, no Fan so we had to open the window and then the noise was unbearable, barely had any sleep, there were a group of men just drinking and being loud right outside our window till like3:00 am , the room was small and Hot , I don't think the location is the best if you plan to rest , its right on the busiest street so lots of traffic and people walking and loud music wish they would have a different room not facing the street

We stayed in the bigger family room with friends (two couples total) and it was perfect, with plenty of space, two floors (though it's all sort of one big room), two bathrooms, and a patio. Breakfast was great, and all staff were helpful and lovely. We arrived late at night and someone was waiting for us. Close walk to the historic downtown!
