This is a beautiful hotel located in a beautiful setting! There is a lovely patio off the front of the hotel that one can sit on and enjoy a glass of wine or a coffee. The breakfast is good and we had one dinner on-site that was very good as well. The server who served us dinner was fantastic at explained the traditions of the food to us in English - it made the meal very special. The pool area is gorgeous and we really enjoyed some R&R around the pool. In the evenings we walked through the vineyard to enjoy the sunsets! It is a peaceful spot and we would love to go back again. There is a local restaurant nearby as well that we walked to for our second dinner - that was a quick walk and also very good food. Above the vineyard there is a chapel, owned by the hotel, where people get married or take wedding photos so that is nice to visit for the view as well.

We would have liked to join one of their wine cellar tours but they are not (or were not at this time) offered in English. This is not the fault of the hotel as they cater mainly to local visitors who speak Hungarian, but we were most interested to learn more about their wines so it would have been fun to do. Instead we did a wine cellar tour in the nearby Tokaj which was great!

Very nice castle like experience within a great location, surrounded by wineyards and nature. The staff was extremely helpful and proactive. We wanted to rent e-bikes and go around the area. They helped with the process and even though it was difficult to find bikes available on such a short notice, they did all their best to find someone to rent us the bikes and thus saving the day. On top of that, they helped with the transportation to and from the rental place. We thank you for all the effort! We had a great time at the place and for sure will visit again!

It was a magical stay at this quiet hotel castle. We really enjoyed the pool and the scenery around it. Also a place great if you want to have a tasting session from the local sweet and dry white wines. You can serve quite a delicious dinner, probably the best dinner around Tokaj. Really like that you can serve breakfast outside on the terrace in the morning and enjoy a bottle of wine in the evening. Do come prepared with mosquito repellent though :)

The staff could have told us they were closing the bar just before 22.00. We would have appreciated the opportunity to order some more of the excellent wine!

Stylish old building with spacious rooms. The hotel is located in a beatuful park just near the vineyard. Rooms were clean, Stuff helpfull. Breakfasts were basic but were ok. It's definitely worths staying in the hotel if you are in the area.

Breakfasts could be better. But overall nothing to really complain about.

We like everything about the hotel. We love this property and always look forward to spend at least one night layover enroute Budapest/Vienna. They have a good kitchen and professional chef. Great food! We also love their wines.

More attention to wine pairing with food. For instance, schnitel paired with a sweet wine is quite strange, to say the least.

We were a bit disappointed with dinner which was included in half board. It was not a buffet as is customary in hotels with half board, these are choosing a dish from the menu, when for some of the dishes an additional fee had to be added.

If it rains there really is not much to do at the property other than wine tastings, if in season, or playing cards or chess.

Fantastic ambiance not only in the hotel, but in entire complex, beautiful building, lush and well maintained nature (trees, meadows, vineyard, orchard), very good design, highly comfortable and well equipped room, excellent dinner, great selection of wines from on-site winery both in the restaurant and in the wine shop, highly attentive and professional employees both at the reception and in the restaurant... By the way, I am a frequent traveler with huge travel experience spending a few months per year in numerous hotels throughout Europe, and Hotel Grof Degenfeld is now definitely on my top 50 list. Definitely recommended to all!

The only small remarks I have are related to the bed size and breakfast. I was in a twin room (room with two single beds) and my bed was very narrow, which is pity because the room is very spacious and it would be really good to have bigger single beds (min 100cm by 200cm, preferably 100cm by 210cm). The breakfast was very good, but it could have a bit more variety even though I assume that this is subject to the hotel occupancy (there were just a few guests while I was there).
